This is not a safe, but I am curious of thoughts on how to secure any collector guns I decide to display. I will have oak doors with some sort of glass installed later this week.

try to get a thick piece of glass with that coating on it that doesn't allow it to shatter and i think you would be fine

Nice, is that cedar? If there is any way the public or the guy that mows your grass or whoever can see in that window be sure to keep the blinds closed at all times. You don't want stories getting out about your collection.

Yes, that is a purple cedar from the Central Oklahoma area. I am told that the red soil is what gives it the purple color, but who knows for sure. It is definitely different from the standard cedar I have seen.

Secure them? You can't, with a cabinet. Even with a good quality gun safe, you can only delay breaching.

Get a 1/2" thick piece of Lexan instead of glass. Unless someone comes in equipped with a drill and a jig saw, its going to take a whole lot of effort to get into it. (Of course, if someone knows they are there and do break in armed with a jig saw and a drill, it won't take them long at all. As stated, nothing replaces a safe)

It's not at all secure. It's a display case. Breach the doors with a crowbar if the glass won't easily break. You could run a chain through the trigger guards to help.
