With the new administration about to seize power in Washington there is a great likelihood the the Democratic controlled Congress will try to ram through more gun laws. The next time you read one of these proposed laws, substitute the word firearm, assault weapon, handgun or whatever with another Constitutionally protected item, a Bible. Then read the proposed law and see if it still sounds Constitutional. For example:

The new "For the Children" act will prohibit possession of an unlicensed...Bible within 1,000 feet of a school and require that... Bibles kept in homes with children be stored in government approved locked containers.

XYZ act will require that Federal authorities be notified in advance anytime a...Bible is transported across state lines.

"Hillary's law" will prohibit private...Bible sales and close the revival tent
loophole.

That is very clever. I like it. I'll have to bring that up to my anti-in-laws. Of course they'll just say, "but Bible's don't kill people."

Well I guess they do depending on the country in which you live.

You can also substitute firearm with newspaper or free speech. For example: The pen is mightier than the sword. I don't think that Hitler, Stalin or Chairman Mao personally shot anyone but they are responsible for the murder of countless millions. These dictators rose to power by persuading other people to act on their behalf using words. Shouldn't there be a law to prevent the unlicensed use of political speech and to keep printed ideas out of the wrong hands?

I think you're going to find this new admin so overwhelmed with trying to straighten out the economic meltdown Bush & Co. got us into that they're not going to have time to consider "gun bills."

I don't think this new admin is going to give up the opportunity to advance their anti-gun agenda, regardless of the current economic situation.

You'll hear rhetoric coming out their arses about the economy while all along they'll be working under the din on all their pet projects and agendas. Such things are lined up, discussed, and passing votes secured long before these things hit the floors of Congress.

When they do hit the floor, it'll be around midnight, "discussion" may last an hour if at all, then votes will be cast, and when we wake up in the morning it'll all be done deals.

Don't lull yourself to sleep thinking they'll be too preoccupied with the economy. That is just a smoke screen.

Why would he have it listed on his website as part of his agenda? Are you calling him a liar?

That might not be too far off, if certain people have their way.

OK, I'll give it it shot....

I'm going to sit here bitterly clinging my Bible and Bible.

doesn't really work with Obama's most notable quote.

p.s. LightningStrke - I dont' think I'll ever see "I think Scott's right" posted that many times in a row on the internet again. :)

Soon we might be crossing the ocean into CUBA in our boats, the comunists I mean democrates are wanting to take all of our rights and freedom away from us.

No, no, no. Those folks are just trying to protect us from the 1% who misuse them in anguish of their unresolved dreams and lack of social standing in an oppressive society governed by elitists who outlaw firearms ownership because of the 1% who misuse them in anguish . . .

Yeah, you could make it a neverending story, but the real truth is that those in office trade your rights to reinforce their perks.

Stop voting them back into office, already.
