From their manual:
The DB380 is double-action only, utilizing a ZERO-ENERGY striker design
to achieve superior safety and function. The DB380 has an automatic
striker block that further enhances user safety by blocking the striker so that
it cannot contact the primer until the trigger is pulled.
The DB380 is designed with the grip as close to the bore center line as possible
in order to noticeably reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise.
The DB380 is manufactured using sophisticated computerized manufacturing
techniques from high-quality materials. This ensures high quality and
reliable performance for each and every firearm produced.
The DB380 utilizes 17-4PH stainless steel for its magazine catch, in order
to eliminate dropped magazines or the malfunctions usually associated with
plastic catches.
The magazine catch is easily operated by the shooting hand.
The DB380 has a steel trigger designed to give the trigger pull a firmer and
more controlled feel. This results in more accurate shooting.

I am really thinking about buying one of these.

Should I order one or wait until it has been out long enough for all the kinks to be worked out?

Diamondback .380

I bought one about 3 weeks ago and am quite satisfied with it. It feels, looks, and disassembles the same as the Glocks. I have shot about 60 rds. through the gun and it is quite accurate. I really like the sites on the weapon, they are real 3 dot sites, just like the Glock. I currently own a glock and just sold a Kel Tec P3AT. This gun is almost identical in size and weight to the Kel Tec but has a better grip and sites. It is extremely easy and comfortable to carry as a pocket pistol. I carry it in the same Desantis pocket holster that I used to carry my Kel Tec. If you like Glocks, I think you will like the Diamondback. I think this company will sell a lot of these weapons to police officers, like myself, who currently carry glocks and would like a small secondary or off duty carry that feels the same as the glock, operates, disassembles the same, and has the same internal safety mechanisms, i.e. the internal hammer block. If this company makes a 9 m.m. version, with similiar weight and size characteristics I think they are going to put a big hurt on Kel Tec and Ruger look alikes. Glock should have produced a .380 like this years ago.

Interesting, but ugly. I'll stick with my .380 Mustang.

"I'm intrigued by this little gun but since I already have a Colt Mustang I really don't see the need to spend the money. It is a nice looking little gun though, maybe I'll sell something to pick this up."

it grew on you i guess!

i want one but i'll wait til' the kinks are worked out like the kel-tec. if it rides in my front pocket as good as and is as reliable as my kel-tec, i'll buy it for the decreased recoil and easier take down.

My local shop just got one of these in and I got to play with it.

I do like it but it's not really what I need and for the price I think there are better alternatives out there. I do like the sights and the trigger is actually pretty nice, if it were in the $200-$300 range I would be very interested.

From what I've read, those that have them, like them.

I guess Diamondback was formed by a couple of Kel-Tec prodigal sons. Both located in Cocoa, FL.

I just checked out gunbroker and they are going for high 300's. There are three of them listed and two have a buy now price og 370 and one has a reserve of 399.

Im on the fence about this one. Is it worth the extra 100 over say a Kel-tec?
If they are nice weapons do you think the price will rise on them after they catch on and get a decent following. I really need to find one and check it out.

love mine

i have had one for about a month, put nearly 500 rnds thru it so far. only had one hickup with a cheap target load , not naming names (blazer) that didnt fire, reloaded round and nothing so im calling it a dud. Love the weight and design. dont see how the didnt get sued by glock but am glad i have mine. perfect for a rear pocket carry or boot carry if you must. My only complaint is the availability of upgrades to is such as tritium sights or a plug for the grip like that of my glocks. and as stated earlier if they ever make a 9mm im all over it.

The guys who left Keltec made Skyy for a while, and now it looks like they ditched that company and made a 3rd. Man, glad I stayed with the original.

OP: There is really no reason to go with a pocket .380, when for a slight size difference you can get a 9. There are a few out there, ranging in price.

Think of it this way, keltec makes a tiny .380, everyone copies. They make a 9mm, every is soon to follow.

They sell for 350 around here. I really like them, but I have a P3AT, so it's hard to justify buying one. If I were in the market for a micro .380, though, I would definitly go for the DB.

some recoil sensitive people prefer the .380 over the 9mm for better control.

also, the P3AT disappears in a front pocket (even in pretty tight jeans) when it's wearing a disantis nemesis holster, but the PF9/kahr is pretty obvious in all but the biggest front pockets (although easy to hide around the waist, but so are a lot of other guns...). i don't know why, but that little bit of extra size makes a significant difference.

any thorough reviews yet? links?

I saw one at my local gun store and agree that it looks to have good quality. It would be tough to decide on this over the new tiny Taurus .380 . . . :uhoh:

Looks like I've found my next purchase. I like how you can get a much higher grip on the DB. And Glock-like internals? Excellent.

I think their patent ran out of time.

Does anyone know what kind of warranty they carry? If a "lifetime warranty", I may get one.
