Been a member here for all of 15 mins lol
got some things to ask
My name Brendan, and im 22
I own a saiga 7.62x39 with three composite 30rnd mags
and one metal 30rnd mag
I also own a Beretta 96 40cal(old police issue)

ok so heres the questions...
Went out shooting saturday, i loaded up a composite mag with no problem
emptied the thing with no problem
But with the metal mag, when loading the gun, it jams right off the bat
once i get it to load and fire, maybe after one two shoots it jams
--Is there something commonly wrong with the metal mags vs composite?
also just purchased a skeleton stock, and im now looking for a scope..
--whats a popular, reliable scope for the saiga?

Was looking at a (POSP 4-8x42VD 1200 m Sniper Rifle Scope with reticle illumination Range Finder and Diopter Adjustment) and similar scopes

any way sorry for the giant post but wanted to give some good detail

Thanks
Brendan

could hopefully be something as simple as a bad magazine. i have 2 metal ones for my WASR and one will feed flawlessly while the other is about as reliable as voodoo.

many factors can go into a bad magazine: tight/loose/broken spring, the feed plate is canted, improperly bent lips at the top, etc... you can tweak on the metal one to try and get it to work, or you can do what i did with mine and throw it out. choice is yours, but to me a magazine that fails to feed, fails to preserve my safety.

happily you already have magazines that you have found to be fully operational with your firearm, so stick with those.

as for the scope, the sky is the limit.i only have red dots on my EBRs, but if you want to put some glass on there, dont go incredibly cheap. check around this site at the other siaga/ak posts and see what the other guys are sporting on their rifles and send them a PM to ask how it performs. there are a great amount of websites out there as well to do price comparisons and already have reviews for most of their products. here are 2 of my more favorited sites for buying optics and such. good luck!

Sounds like u need a bullet guide and u may have sum 922r issues check out the saiga forum.

make sure your bullets are seated properly. 'Tap' the mag [after it's loaded] on the primer end against something solid like a bench, seat, knee cap [be carefull. that might hurt].

sweet!! thanks alot guys!!
