new guy requests permission to come aboard. just got a yugo m24/47 from j and g sales. case of 8mm ammo-old, corrosive type, but clean and in good shape in the sealed tin. First round does not go boom so I chuck it, then none of the following rounds fire till I re-cock 2 or 3 times. Looks like light strikes on the primer. I scrubbed the bolt and reciever with hoppes #9 to remove the heavy grease and swabbed the bore, but couldnt see how to get the bolt out of the reciever to take it apart and really clean it up inside. Is the gunk in the bolt retarding the strike on the primer? and how does a guy get the bolt out and dissembled? This is a cool rifle, worn but with lots of character, good balance and feel, good cartridge. Thanks if you can help out.

Natman, thank you sir for your advice. went to surplus rifles and found the whole 9 yards-illustrated instructions on how to take the bolt apart, and as an extra added bonus, pictures on how to put it together again. This new fangled internet business rocks.

If cleaning doesn't work and you have to order parts, remember the 24/47 is not a standard Mauser action so the spring and firing pin are shorter.
