My father bought a Spr 453,The remington import. Can anyone tell me where to find the Gas adjustment wrench and what brand chokes it takes? I appreciate any information. This gun is an enigma to me. He's having issues with it not cycling with skeet loads (From shot one his first time shooting) and figured I'd start with the gas adjuster.
Thank you.

Call EAA/USSG or order it from their website. The shotgun is the Baikal MP153, they were just renamed when Remington was importing them for a few years. Most of them will cycle loads down to 1oz with the gas adjustment in the factory position. I would take it down and make sure everything is completely clean before adjusting anything. I am assuming it is a used gun? When new the owners manual says to shoot 100 heavy loads through them for a break-in. They use Trulock chokes. Carlsons also sells tubes in that pattern.

Thanks for the info. And yes, it was used. I guess I'll be taking it apart for him and do a thorough cleaning. I appreciate the reply. This is more information than i have found ALL day..LOL Thanks again!

Clean it completely and relube per the manual. It might have some preservative gunk in the gas port. Do not go adjusting anything until after that is done. Then try a few heavy target/field loads to see if it still acts up.

Here is a picture that will help you know how the gas system goes together. The wrench should have come with the gun. It is just a spanner wrench, but you can use a flat blade across the slots to screw it in and out.
