New Hampshire House votes to defy Fed ID

I'm not suggesting any conspiracy. I don't believe in conspiracies, as a general rule.
I do believe governmental programs tend to grow without limit, that powers once gained by the government are never given back, and that eventually the guys you don't want to be in power, get into power.

Hence, to avoid problems down the road, we must limit the power the government takes -- even when it happens to be "our guys" in office when the power-grab happens.

More progress: The NH Senate committee has voted 6-0 to recommend passage of the "Real ID Rejection Act," and Goveror Lynch has pledged to sign it if it exits the Sentate intact.

So the only remaining hurdle is the full senate (24 members).

However there is some fear that there has been some sort of back door deal to kill this bill there. Senate pres. Gatsas is trying to get it killed and fed officials have been scurring arround the legislature arm twisting. The vote is scheduled for Wed., May 3. The Washington Post is scheduled to send a reporter, and the story has already been on CBS news.

Well I am sorry to say the full NH senate voted 14-9 to amend (but pass) the "Real ID Rejection Bill." It is now defanged somewhat but maintains the harsh language and is going into a state of limbo. There is some kind of fight brewing over it on June 7, so the issue is still entirely in play. The main question is....will they take the three million dollar bribe from Washington and start inflicting Real ID on their citizens?

To get a feel for the extent to which NH residents intend to fight this to the end, here is an excerpt from a local LTE:

"To paraphrase one of history's more colorful figures:

Though large tracts of America, and many old and famous freedoms, have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Homeland Security Department and all the odious apparatus of authoritarian rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, peaceably but ever growing in activity and resolve. In this manner, we shall fight in New Hampshire, we shall fight on the sidewalks and streetcorners,
we shall fight with growing confidence and strength on the airwaves. We shall defend our Island of freedom, whatever the cost may be; we shall fight in the papers; we shall fight in the Legislature. We shall fight in the offices of our rulers and on their phone lines; we shall never surrender. And even if this state or a large part of it were subjucated and under the thrall of a surveillance regime, her core
resisters, armed and guarded by the simple principles of liberty, would carry on the struggle until, until, in God's good time, a new generation, with youthful power and might, steps forth to the rescue and liberation of the old."
