Anyone have any idea if the most common holster used in IDPA is now illegal? Looks like it may be after reviewing this cluster$&#* of a rule book they just published. Anyone, anyone??? Help! I am not spending another $60 on another holster.

I guess I'll moving from shooting 90% IDPA to shooting 90% IPSC

It looks like my CDP, ESP, SSP, and SSR holsters became illegal on the first of the New Year. They are still legal in IPSC Production and Revolver.

I'll start the year shooting IDPA but if they enforce the new rules locally, and I don't think they will, then I'll be shooting a lot of IPSC this year.:)

The change just means I won't be traveling to the larger shoots to support IDPA.

Write IDPA!!

Our CRO and former MD wrote to IDPA expressing severe concerns.

I did, I hope others will. This cannot stand. 1/4" off-set shouldn't be important enough to drive away shooters.

I expect local enforcement to be non-existent until this has been haggled...I pity those with large sanctioned matches scheduled in the next few weeks.

The least they could have done is put this out for comment to the membership instead of making a "central committee" declaration...and making it effective immediately? What are Bill, Ken et al thinking????

Perplexed, Frustrated, and Downright Angry!

Hmmm, I've already figured out my over and under bladetech moonclip holder is illegal. I wonder about my Bladetech holsters, they both have Teklocks and fit pretty snuggly to my Wilderness belt.

I've measured once, twice and thrice with my HK USP, Kimber Compact CDP and Smith 945.

I've also solicited visual "rulings" from my wife and neighbors.

All of them seem to agree that Blade-Tech belt-slide holsters with Tek-Lok are legal under the new rules.

We'll see next weekend....

EDIT:

Forgot to mention that all the above "testing" was conducted using Wilderness and Blackhawk belts. YMMV for other models....

Great, and with my spare tire, the 3/4" rule shouldn't be a problem (except for my general health).

So far as long as you are clean on the 3/4" rule, it appears that the Tek-Lok Blade-Tech's should be okay. I've heard on other forums that a Wilderness Belt removes the daylight on the belt loop Blade-Tech's...again, assuming you are clean on the 3/4" rule.

Edited to add comments based on receipt today of Blade-Tech Tek-Lok gear for 1911.

I have a Bianchi 1 3/4" B8 belt that I've never really used because I never had a good combination holster/pouch to use it with...using that belt, with the Tek-Lok belt holster from Blade-Tech AND Tek-Lok mag' pouches...my view is that they measure less than 3/4" inside of Tek-Lok to inside of holster "well" AND that the CMC mag's are more than 50% covered. I did not observe any daylight between the belt and the exterior edges of the Tek-Lok fastener.

Stay Safe,
