I have the hots for a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70.
A new one at Academy is $569.99, but it's a REMLIN of course.
I have seen a couple of NIB Marlins with the JM stamped barrel on line and they are always just a couple of dollars under $1,000.
Is that "the market" for an actual new real Marlin Guide Gun with the infamous JM barrel stamp.
On one hand the new Remlin will shoot 45-70''s and is just barely over half price, but the older one is the "REAL MCCOY" and there can't be many left that are new and unfired.
Although I could scrounge up the cash, I don't like throwing money away!
