have the new 1894 marlins shipped yet???

ok guys I am looking for a 44 mag lever gun I am really wanting a marlin but the jm stamped prices are unheard off and going up so have the new ones arrived yet the remlins I mean.

That is great news! I love my Marlins and am glad to see them finally getting it right. I just picked up a 1894 CP and it would be nice to see a similar model come out from Remington....I would buy another.

I'm hearing nothing but bad things regarding Marlin lever guns since the Remington take over. I was on the hunt for a Marlin 1894c in .357 but now I'm looking at Rossi.

Dont buy the Remlin if you are at all picky. Just save up for the real deal. Unless the plan is to use and abuse then just get a shooter.

I think Diver and dvd missed the thrust of the op's question. Yes, the original run of remlins were garbage. They shut down production, moved the plant again, and have been promising new and high quality marlin's produced this year (they've been promising for a while so I"ll believe it when I see it). OP wanted to know if anybody had seen them yet and were they any good.

They may be junk, they may be good, who know yet. But if they are good then hurray! also buyer beware because there will be a lot of garbage remington's floating around for years. If we are lucky the new ones will be A) high quality and B) marked differently than their first efforts to make sorting the wheat from the chaff easy. (can you imagine trying to buy a remlin online if there are 2 different quality's floating around? what a mess.)

Wait for the Marlins. The Rossi is an even bigger Crapshoot than The Remlins. At least Marlin will sell you parts after the warranty expires.
Darn little Rifles look good though.

I'm a lever-gun rookie but interested in buying one. Could you decode what you mean by 'saving up for a real one'? Do you mean a Winchester?

Bingo what he means is that a reall "jm" stamped marlin before they were bought by Remington which was bought by the freedom group who is owned by cerbus

to expand on horseman, the guns remington produced were by and large garbage. stripped screws, barrels with sights at the 11 or 1 o'clock positions, poor wood to metal and metal to metal fit, poorly finished internals, dings and scratches on the metal from assembly, it was a mess. They stopped production, the demand for actual marlin made marlins skyrocketed and prices doubled and tripled.

The marlin made marlins have JM stamped on the back of the barrel on the drivers side. The remingtons have REP in an oval on the rear passenger side. Ironically though, the remingtons shipped with better wood. It wasn't finished as well, but by and large it was a higher grade of wood with more figure.

Sounds like a lot of Rossi's as well BUT then again the price figures with most people.

I was on the hunt for a Marlin 1894c in .357 but now I'm looking at Rossi.

I bought my Rossi M92 back when Marlin was still Marlin, and I'm still glad I bought the Rossi.
It has a 16"bbl, which Marlin hasn't made in a .357 mag (but for a few select runs like the CP, which was ported...no thanks), and it's lighter weight.
So for less money spent on the gun I got a lighter, shorter, handier rifle. It has been a lot of fun at the range, and I would have no problem taking it camping, traipsing around the woods, etc...
