Hi guys I just picked up a new PPKs. Blued , 2 mags, box, no papers. Gun looks unfired,. Realy a nice gun. I have done searches on the forum and I am wondering if Ranger did the actual manufacturing of this gun or did they just assemble the imported parts? The quality of the bluing is nice and the machining is very clean. I need to get it out and run it through the paces. One more question, how do you carry yours? It does fit nice in my pocket holster but, I want to known what the other options are , Thanks.

Ranger actually made the parts and assembled them.
Walther had the post-war guns made in France, and wanted to end that relationship, so they licensed Interarms to have the guns totally made here.

The PPK/s is a little too big and heavy to make a true pocket pistol, so most people seem to carry them in some sort of holster.
A belt holster like an inside the waistband (IWB) or an outside holster seems to work best.
A few people have used the ankle holster, but that really doesn't seem to work all that well as a main gun carry method.
Another that does work is a fanny pack or some type of belt pouch.

How to carry is very much user option.

Wow, I never heard of the Ranger company and my initial inspection shows a quality piece. Now I must fire it and see how it functions. As to the carry method , I am more curious as to what type or brand of hoster used. I would like to get a hold of a German or French model to check out the difference in quality.

I bought one, a stainless PPK, nice gun. Still gooped with some kind of sticky preservative.

I carry my Interarms in a Don Hume pocket holster I don't think the weight is a issue with a holster Just drop in pocket might be a bit out of balance . I also have a Don Hume IWB holster as well as a UBG IWB holster
I use Corbon DPX or thier 90grHP

The PPK/S came as a result of GCA'68.
The PPK was .10" to short to be imported!!! :fire:
Walther took the PPK slide and mated it to the PP frame.
I'm told that in the Walther factory, the "S" stood for scheisekopfen. ;)
Because of the exchange rate between the dollar and the deutschmark, Walther decided to license production in the US.

I forgot that may range is closed today due to deer season. I am going to try to get out tomorrow . The Walther reminds me of my Maks. I hope that it runs as well. The Maks rock.
