New LCP II range report

I've been CC an LCP for about 8 years now and when I got my hands on the LCPII I wanted one. But there seemed to be a lot of negative emotion about this gun so I've delayed my purchase. Positive reports like the OP has renewed my desire to buy one because the trigger on the new LCP will better match my other carry gun (G-23).

What? Nearly all reviews are positive.

There have been a few reported hiccups of the gun jamming with some ammo. Mine doesn't like the flat SIG bullets and I got a few feed failures using Monarch fmj in the first 50 rounds.

I'm good to go now. The smattering of premium ammos I have tried all worked in the stock mag. Besides the last round issue with my old mag (just swapped out the base plate, so i'll see it that helps next week when I go to the range).

I did put a slightly stiffer recoil spring in it as I did with my last LCP as well as a stainless guide rod.

However, the gun functions flawlessly with the provided magazine.

The best way to shoot better with an LCP is to shorten the range, a lot. I realize you were testing, but the sweet spot is the shorter end of 0-7 yards.

Good review and range report on the LCP II. Have been thinking about geting another .380 to add to the family (KelTec P3AT, Colt Mustang, and SIG P238). Will definitely add this one to the short list.

I was thinking about getting one, but when the prices fell on the original LCP , I just went out and got another regular LCP. For some reason, I just can't warm up to the new one, I guess it's a little on the square shape that turns me off. I like the long trigger pull on mine, with no safety I feel more comfortable with one in the chamber.

The old LCp forum had some real negative stuff, questions about safety and reliability

I will admit that I had some concerns about a light crisp trigger on a pocket pistol with no manual safety. Not bashing the gun at all, but I wouldn't want one if the trigger is as light as I understand it to be.

I am going to the gun store in the morning as I was up there last Saturday playing with the new lcp 2 compared to the lcp and I was like wow! the lcp2 is way better on the trigger and I really liked the way it felt in my hand so I am considering on getting one as well! this will be what I use to go get my CCL with! ;)

It's really not that light of a trigger. I mean, compared to the original lcp or the Pico or BG380 it's a tad lighter, but it's still a hammer fired gun. Im a guy who appreciates a manual safety, but i dont feel umcomfortable carrying it in my pocket at all.

The trigger is no lighter than a Glock.

However, I wouldn't toss one in my pocket without a holster or use a clip draw. It's not a hair trigger, bit it stacks very little once you start applying pressure.

I just layawayed one today as I just love that trigger on the lcp 2 so this is gonna be my gun for daily carryin once I have my CHL! :) plus I bought a raven arms 25 acp and I got it really cheap so I brought it home and cleaned it up and went and fired it tonight and it shot very well with no problems! :):)

Just picked a LCP II up at a gun show yesterday. Thought it was a good deal at $270 out the door. Was surprised to see it came with a pocket holster. I know it isn't much, but it was a nice touch. Can't wait to test her out at the range.

I hope she shoots well for you:)

My LCP II has taken over my edc hot weather carry. For mothers day, my wife wanted to walk down to the downtown riverfront (one easy mile through our neighborhood). Wore some comfy cargo shorts and no belt. Just tossed my scout knife in one pocket and the lcp II in the other.

Easy Sunday walking gear.

As for the Lcp II coming with a pocket holster, I'm sure that's a lawyer thing. The trigger is pretty light, and some folks who carried the original may think they can just toss it in a purse or pocket with the trigger uncovered.

Don't get me wrong. It's a nice little way to carry the gun.

well I have the ruger lcp 2 coming soon as its on layaway so I am excited to be getting mine soon then next will be going after my CHL ;) so at 5-12ft do they shoot pretty good?

I'm not a great shot, but my lcp shoots an easy fist-sized grouping at 7 yards. If I back it out to 12 yards, my group opens up a bit but still stay within what most would consider combat accurate.

At 5-12', I think you'd have no issues putting a hole wherever you want it.

What sold me on the lcp II wasn't the stellar accuracy (even though it's no slouch). I think my Pico was more accurate. However, in a self defense pistol that is designed around close contact, being able to quickly dump accurate shots on target might be a bit more important than being able to clover leaf slow controlled shots.
