I just picked up a new LCR .38+P after selling my LCP

and I LOVE it so far...ive put about 100 rounds through it with about 25 +P rounds and its a blast to shoot

I hated shooting the LCP, after about 50 rounds of 380 my big hands would be too sore to keep going, so i never really practiced like i should have

but this afternoon i rand 100 rounds through the LCR in no time flat, with several one cylinder one hole groups at 7 yards, and nice center mass groups fired rapid fire AND my hand is no worse for the wear (the hogue grip is nice)

next up is a fiber front sight and a IWB holster...any recommendations on the holster? i was considering a simply rugged silver dollar...any experience there?

and here is the gratuitous action pic from the range session :D

Glad you are happy with it.

I don't find the recoil to be too bad out of the LCP, even with the hotter loads.

but know the LCR is much
more pleasant to shoot than any J frame or Charter I've owned.

The classic 158 +Ps are good performers, but I find the softer shooting 110 and 125s
are better for me.

Have fun with that LCR!

Great revolver!

Love the action photo...

I think you are right to switch to a weapon capable of firing .38+P vs a .380!

Of course, i am a bit biased...as I am all revolver for concealed carry!

Thanks for sharing!

I had one for about half an hour. When my wife saw it, she IMMEDIATELY declared it as 'hers'! She carries it a lot and shoots it quite well. She even let me shoot it a little. NICE and very fitting for its designed purpose.

while not painful, Strangely enough, shooting federal 130gr FMJ was a lot snappier feeling than Remington 125gr +P SJHP, which is what the fireball was from

ill have to try to find some of those Golden Sabres,...though i heard somewhere recently that Federal started making the Nyclads again...might try to find some of them too

LCR

glad you like the lcr. And I agree that your pictures are great. I bought an LCR 357 a couple of months ago and I think it shoots great even with 357s in it! I tried other peoples sw 340/360 and man there is no comparison. The LCRs trigger is as good as you will find anywhere. Ruger hit a home run with those revolvers!

Love my LCR in 38+p also. Its not an inside waistband holster, but I've got an Uncle Mike's inside the pocket holster that makes the LCR vanish. Very comfy. Because of this revolver's bigger trigger guard it didn't fit an Uncle Mike's holster made to fit most 5 shot snubbies. So just check the fit on anything before you buy it.

i have a .38 spl on the way also, should get it this weekend, cabellas has fmj on sale for 11.88 a box wiyth free shipping

A big +1 for the LCR . I use the Blackhawk size 3 pocket holster which does protect the trigger. Mine has the night sight. The thing I really like about this pistol is I can carry this thing in any summer attire without having to worry about it. Shorts Tshirt and flipflops are no problem. Shoots very well for a snubbie I might also add. Super trigger!

The Simply Rugged Silver Dollar is a great holster. I have one and it carries great. Just make sure to have a good belt.

The more you shoot the LCR the more you'll like the gun. I haven't fired the LCR in .357 magnum, I can't imagine it to be very pleasant with magnum loads. If you don't reload you should consider doing so, you can load the .38 down to where it's felt recoil is barely more than a .22 LR.
