A quick follow-up from my post way back...
First of all, I don't work for Osprey International.
I found a 10-40x50 Osprey Intl. scope on a website for $100. Since I've had good luck out of my 4-16x50, I figured it'd be worth trying. Regardless of what many have been saying, I couldn't be happier with it! With over 100 shots fired from my Armalite AR-50 BMG rifle, I can honestly say this scope is awesome. It's still DEAD on! Sure, it's not perfect and does have some minor shortcomings, but hell, I paid $100 for a BMG-capable 10-40x50 scope with flip up caps and decent scope mounts included! Maybe I've just been lucky, but either way, I'd buy another Osprey in a heartbeat!
For the ones having issues getting the scope zeroed-in... my 4-16x50 did the same thing, but a couple light taps on the adjustment knobs before turning them and all was well.
Also, I had a similar issue that some others stated about the adjustment knob coming off of my 10-40x50. The problem is simple: the adjustment knobs are held on by 3 allen screws. One of the holes on mine wasn't perfectly threaded, preventing one screw from being tightened all the way. A few bucks for an extremely small tap will solve that issue.
Now, I agree that when you buy something, you shouldn't have to work on it immediately, but since a comparable scope capable of handling the massive recoil of a BMG would cost at least 6 times what I gave for my scope, I think I can deal with a 3 dollar fix.
Don't think I'm saying Osprey is perfect. I've never dealt with their customer service, and if I'd had the experience that some others are saying they've had, I'd be pissed as well. All I'm saying is that my experience thus far has been a good one.
