New to reloading have been using my buddy's Sierra manual but would like to get a different one. Would like one with .357 cast load data. Will be loading for .357 mag black hawk 6.5 an Rossi, 6mm Remington an 2506 an see a 40. Any suggestions thanks. Like this place read a lot on here before I ever started bunch of good info

+1

Lyman publishes the only load manuals that have good lead bullet data in most all calibers.

Thanks y'all is 2400 good for the cast bullets want to stay away from powders that would be harder to see a double charge using 296 for the 140 xtp

Don't get your shorts in a wad over doubles charges.

Develop good, safe reloading habits in the first place and it simply can't happen.

I use a loading block, charge 50 cases, then carefully inspect the powder charges in all 50 cases before seating bullets in them.

Even a minor variation in a fast burning powder charge is noticeable in a case when you got 49 others that are spot on!

People double-charge using progressive presses, or charging one case at a time and a seating bullet in it without any basis of comparison.

True about the habits I check an recheck know I can't double charge the 296 just trying to make it second nature. Had a squib from a factory won't name the brand .38 so know it can go both ways sounded like just a primer

lyman has good info in it, I just don't care for the layout very much. Lee's book has my favorite load data layout, but I suppose that is all a matter of personal preference and what we learned on. You should certainly have a good load book, but don't forget that the powder and bullet manufacturers have free load data you can download. Not a lot with lead, but you can always ask and see if somebody will shoot you a picture of a particular page from a book. (ex: somebody shoot me the 158 grn lead loads page from a lyman book please)
