Where did you get the wood grips on the IJ-70, if you do not mind me asking

*** edit to add nice collection BTW :)

Nice collection, I just added a CZ-83 9x18 makarov w/satin nickle finish to go with my Bulgie Mak today. There's just something about that round.

I'm looking to start my collection. Any idea where I can find a Bul Mak in good shape?

Nice collection,
Bera

Very nice. I like the 9mm Mak round and I like the simplicity and reliability of the Com Block pistols. I am a big fan of Marschal grips too.

Well done!

Nice. How would you rate them (Mak vs CZ vs Radom) ? I have very very limited experience with Mak but that's about it.

I have not yet fired the new Bulgarian, so I can only speak aboutth other 3:

The CZ 82 is excellent! It fits the hand like a (mostly) full sized gun and is quite accurate.

The Baikal Mak is a bit less 'meaty' but still soft shooting and accurate.

The P-64 is small and isn't as comfortable as the other two. Starts to sting after 50 rounds...not the pleasure boat the 82 and the Baikal are....kind of like hitting a fire hydrant with an aluminum baseball bat. I like it as a carry gun. Not quite a pocket gun if you wear jeans, but slips into my motorcycle jacket quite unobtrusively. The stock DA pull a monster though...something like 30lbs.

Most of the Bulgarian Maks are not C&R, but the P-64 and the CZ 82 are, and both are cheap (around $200 for excellent graded examples) so for $30 and filling out a C&R form with the BATF you can have these babies shipped to your door. Gun shows to find the regular Makarovs.

I've got two Bulgies, just like that, a Russian Commercial (B-West import, satin nickel, .380), and an East German.

For all around fit, finish, and performance for the money, I prefer the Bulgarians. The EG is very nice, but I bought it at the time they were selling for $100 - $150, but now they are hard to find, and much more expensive. You can still find a Bulgie at a decent price. Good job!

I've never seen, nor shot a bad Pistolet Makarov.

That pic makes me miss my Makarovs. I had 11 of them at one time, now I have none.

I love mine. The only one I've ever sold was a 2nd P-64 I bought when I ordered my first one. It was $10.00 cheaper on each if you bought two and I figured I would keep the nicer of the two and eventually sell the other one. A friend of mine saw it and had to have it :)

Yes North Bender, I feel ashamed now. I sold every cherished Makarov in the stable. You know I got heavy into reloading and my Maks threw brass into the next county........but every penny went towards other sidearms, so all is not lost.

Good to hear from you old friend!!!
