Hello everyone,
I've been reading this forum for quite a long time just never registered. I'm so stoked about my new (to me) Ruger Old Army purchase (today) that I just had to drop a line and tell everybody. After i got a smokin deal on a Traditions Buckstalker at a Walmart Clearance sale, I guess I got blackpowder fever. So I started looking into cap and ball revolvers and I intended to order a Uberti or a Pietta Replica, but All the normal online retailers are sold out. So I stopped in my local gunshop and they had two. One was a Ari Marco ( or something like that) and right next to it was this Old Army sitting on top of the original box. At first I thought it was new, but the salesman informed me it was used (sure doesn't look like it). Anyway in the end I paid double what I would have for a Pietta. I didn't know nothing about these Old Rugers, but I do know my way around a firearm and I could clearly see that this piece is VERY well made. Anyway I've already order a mold, as I cast shotgun slugs and buckshot already. Ok I read that the #11 cap is a shade big for the early Old Army's. Will swapping in Uberti nipples fix this? and if so where do I buy the nipples? Can't wait to shoot the old girl. and Thanks for an awesome and informative Forum. Have a Great Day and Happy New Year!!!!
