I'm so proud of my wife. She took her CCW permit course yesterday and passed with flying colors. They had a discussion about the pros and cons of each type of potential carry gun. The class members got to experiment with a few types to see what they like best.
My wife, who had been dead set on a semi-auto came home and told me she wants a .38spl snub nosed with internal hammer. She likes that it doesn't toss brass as she finds that distracting, and she likes that she doesn't have to worry about the slide banging or catching on her hand. As far as I'm concerned those are issues that can be overcome with training, but hey, she knows what she wants and it's her call! I'm really proud and really happy. I can't really knock her decision. We just have different reasons for picking the same platform.
So some time in the next week we're going to go compare an LCR, 640, and 642/442. She doesn't want a bobbed hammer. She got talked into the whole "you can shoot it through a coat pocket" idea and she doesn't want a hammer getting snagged on cloth. She is willing to consider something like a 638 also.
Anything else you guys would recommend we look at?
