Greetings all. I stumbled across this site while logged into ar15.com, and after reviewing the posts here I decided it would be well worth my time to join-up. I am twice retired--from the Navy and from the commercial nuclear power industry. My passions are shooting sports, and building high performance computers. I load my own ammo, and usually end up at the range twice per week. My armory consists of: (Rifles) AR-15, AK-47, 30-30, 30-06; (Pistols) .25, 380, .38, 9mm, .40, .45. I know that I will learn something here, and I sure hope that I can contribute as well. Thanks for having me.

I'm also new and just bought an Superior Arms .223/5.56 AR-15 from my local gun show on Valentine's Day. At the same time, I also bought my wife a Taurus PT-22 .22 caliber semi-auto handgun for her to get the feel for shooting.

I've had a Glock model 17 9mm for almost 23 years now but haven't shot it in about that same amount of time. A tragedy, I know. That will end shortly! I bought it for fun and for home protection. The funny thing is that I paid about the same price back then that it costs today.

I am a card carrying member of the NRA.

I'm considering loading my own ammo but haven't "pulled the trigger" on any reloading equipment yet. Any suggestions on a setup that I could use to reload what I have?

Great group!

Tony from new jersey, i am a hunter and target shooter.
looking forward to the forum when i have the time..:)

I've been a "lurker" for awhile on this board also. Interest's are mostly fishing and shooting. Not a hunter, but seldom pass up a chance to shoot a coyote. I just enjoy reloading and poking holes in paper. Like many others on this board I have a strong leaning towards self defense both armed and unarmed.

Walleye Central is my main hangout when online. I go by "Pooch" on that board and have a few pictures posted there for anyone interested.

Wife is retired school teacher and I'm still farming. Spent thirty years on our local paid on call fire department with twenty five years as Assistant Chief. The FD was a big part of my life for many years. Many of the young people under me went on to law enforcement and we remain friends to this day. Also fairly active in the USKK. Search USKK, (Hombu Dojo) it's easier than me explaining it.

Weaponry isn't anything out of the ordinary or exotic. Second Amendment, concealed carry and reloading are important topics of discussion on this board and also myself.

Not much else about me is interesting. Thanks to the moderators who maintain this board. That in itself can be a lot of work.

Lurker. Joined today to make 2 posts about guns & higher ed.

I mine this site shamelessly for information on firearms and until today, had never contributed.

Briefest of Bios: Doing my PhD, teach at local colleges, like big frame revolvers, live in south Texas, Canadian citizen and native. Came to US for three reasons: my Wife, 1a and 2a, not necessarily in that order (don't tell the missus!) Married to a smart, gutsy woman who is US born, a pro 2a gun-ownin Dem and also an academic. Canadian human rights commissions really started creeping me out and I'm a "full auto in every home for the purposes of national, civil and personal defence" kind of nut-job. Made the decision of "which country" pretty easy in my mind. I'll take liberty and give up the "free" *cough* medical care, thanks.

I'll be looking at a cheap, good semi-auto "end of days" rifle in the near future and plan on abusing the heck out of this great resource to make my decision.

Cheers and eh!

Hi all! I too have exploited this site for imfo. { shamelessly }
Short and sweet, I grew up with a gun in my hand instead of toys. Well I love my toys, except they go bang. I have been out of the gun and hunting world for 15 years. Shot for the first time at a range inside 2 weeks ago. I got so excited I went out and bought a new SIGSAUER P 250. Life is to short, going to start at least shooting again. I even took my wife, who has never shot a gun. She now has my tomcat....lol. Love the site. imformation and people are GREAT! From a long family history of NRA members, talk to you soon.

Hello everyone,

My name is Nick and I'm addicted to shooting.

I go to the range at least once a week and try hard to avoid the urge to make a detour to the range daily on my way home from work.

I considered going to shooters anonymous but decided instead to join this forum and wallow in my addiction. :D

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi,

I'm Dean. I've been into guns and shooting for over 40 of my 54 years.

I found this site while searching for info on an old gun I just bought yesterday.

You might say I came for the information and stayed for the snappy signature lines :)

Hi all, three week lurker here.

I recently purchased an XDM 9mm and a Taurus Judge (for the hallway, you know).

I'm a little strange. I'm still in college; it has made me more conservative and even more concerned about the dying liberties in our country. I've come here to learn more about guns and solidify myself with fellow gun owners.

:)

Ive been a reader for a little while now and finally decided to go ahead and register. I'm in the same boat as mpdan with still being in college and it making me more conservative. I have been shooting most of my life but in the past few years starting to further my collection a little more. Right now I have a Mossberg 12ga, a Benelli 12ga, a Savage model 64 .22, and a Glock 23. I've been looking at an SKS recently, and maybe a Ruger LCP or LCR since I just finished my concealed carry class.

Hi I'm a new member. Been looking around on the site for a few weeks, and decided it was time to join. I have been shooting for a little while now and have started to get a good collection going .I like all kinds of guns and do some target shooting an hunting. Just bought my first reloader so I am sure I will have tons of questions coming up about that. I appreciate all the help in advance. :)

Hi there. From AZ and only been shooting handguns for about a month now. I am trying to learn as much as possible.
Now, I need to get a decent rifle.
Cheers!

New guy here.
Lurked around for a while and now I'm in.
Lots of good info here.
Hopefully I can add some knowledge here and there.
Thanks!

hi. just joined. I'm an active-duty USN Nuke Machinist's Mate. been shooting for about 8 years, mostly defensive handgun. just recently got into CMP. if it goes bang, it's cool.

Springfield Armory TRP, GLOCK 35, SA XD40 subcompact, S&W 442, S&W 686, Inland M1 Carbine, CMP SA M1 Garand, Remington 788 .308, Marlin .22, Mossberg .22, Ruger Mk I, Mossberg 500, Marlin 336, Bushmaster M4, Ruger Mini-14.

I joined a while back but never posted until today. I usually just lurk in the shadows and soak up knowledge. I'm 34 and live in rural Alabama on family land and shoot whenever and pretty much wherever I want. Nothing beats sitting on the front porch with my 8 year old son watching him shoot his 10/22 at a plinking target.
