Hi all. I hail from Myrtle Beach, SC. My main loves are my Savage .308, Delta H-Bar, and Glock 17, but I love all guns. My previous background required the carrying of similar firearms until my "retirement"several years ago. Now I enjoy seeing how far I can make a .308 round travel and still hit my aim point. I also love plinking with my 10/22. I am also a big fan of German WWII arms, devout supporter of the second amendment, and NRA life member. I hope you guys will share your knowledge with me and look forward to being a part of this group. Thanks!
Tim

Hello folks,Just found this site looking for info about a new gun I bought.I am looking forward to learning more about all our guns and sharing what we've learned about them.

I have a bad habit of skippin over the stickies, so I didn't see this until after I'd already posted elsewhere. I enjoy skeet shooting, long-range paper punchin, and most of all plinkin with a .22 Long rifle or short. as far as hunting goes only been once in my life, I know I can do it, I'll do it when I have to, till then I'll see you at the butcher. I like any kind of firearm, except the one that doesn't work.

Hi guys and gals, I am from the SC Lowcountry. I purchased my first collector's piece today (hopefully) at a gun show in Savannah, where I met some interesting and knowledgeable people. I bought a very well preserved Mosin-Nagant 1891 model, made in 1915. I hope to find out more about it and other guns from some of the knowing folks here. That is why I originally signed up.

Another n00b from Texas

I'm 36 years old from Dallas area. I've been around guns my whole life and I've owned a few different handguns and long guns. Right now I have a stainless mil-spec Springfield 1911 with smooth ebony grips that I really like, a WASR-10 and a Taurus Tracker .44mag ss with a 2" barrel that is on a truck back to the factory for a couple of issues. I've been lurking around here for a few months but haven't posted until this week.

I play heavy metal music and often feature firearms on my album covers and press photos. Most heavy metal dudes like guns, but don't mention it because of the liberal bias of the industry as a whole. Only a few are spineless liberal crybabies but they seem to make the news more. I say screw them.

Howdy Y'all

I'm from North Texas and my very first firearm is a Mosin Nagant 91/30, which I bought for $30 from a garage sale 7 years ago. I didn't actually know it was a working weapon, it was just wall mounted in my living room and used as "decoration". Only this February 2009, after already owning XDM and Taurus pistols and a sig 556 rifle did I find out that my Mosin Nagant is a functional rifle.

Anyway, I am a member of other online forums that are mainly related to firearms I own. However, every time I would google something about gun ownership I am directed to this forum so here I am finally joining as a member :) looking forward meeting new friends, learning from, and contributing whatever little knowledge I have to fellow members.

Colorado Newbie Signing in

Straight shooter from Colorado; just signing in to join the mix of fellow citizens interested in shooting sports and ensuring our freedoms remain intact.
I'm not a gun nut, I'm a gun owner (several) and love shooting as often as I can. I support local and national organizations (money mostly) for the continued freedom of gun ownership by law abiding citizens of this great country. Like many here, I served my country (22 yrs US Navy) and finally figured I was having too much fun and needed to go to work for a living.

All the best
John

New in Florida

I discovered these forums in a bit of a roundabout way doing a bit of online research concerning the age of my S&W 38 Airweight that I own (I think it was manufactured in 1979 which sounds about right). My Dad gave it to me many years ago since I enjoyed firing it at targets back when I was a teen. At the time Dad had a spare and gave it to me after I got married (along with a 20 gauge shotgun, a 410 shotgun {the squirrel gun I used}. I also own an old .22 rifle as well as a Remington Nylon 99 .22 that I got as a birthday present when I was in the Boy Scouts. I'm going to take the time to look through the threads and ask for some info.

New in Northern Michigan

Hi all. Been hunting and shooting since I was a wee tot (now just an old sot). I run a small 'smith shop in the Northern Lower of Michigan. Try to get out hunting, fishing whenever I can and can't wait for this winter to end. Also do my own reloading and am into restorations of the older guns especially the military types.:neener:

hey guys, been here awhile now

What's happening folks, some of you might've known me on other boards with the same name, i've been surfing this site for quite awhile now so i might as well check in.

I'm from China originally, a country where even airsoft guns are now illegal. Anyway since i've got my green card i've been collecting firearms vigrously and ammased a pretty good collection for a 19 year old (14 and counting)

thanks for having my onboard

Tim

well welcome to THR and welcome to the land of the free, never knew that airsoft was illegal anywhere lol, but its always nice to see another person involved in the sport of shooting, be safe

Welcome, Tim, from a guy who's pretty new here myself.

I'm assuming you were born in China. Did you come over with your family? I'd be curious to compare the attitudes toward self-defense you found there and here.

My Chinese Girlfriend never touched a gun . . .

Until she met me. Chinese females are NOT ALLOWED to ever fire a gun in China. American women are actually ALLOWED to purchase and fire firearms. It's a strange world. Where prostitution is legal, almost no female is ever raped, i.e. South Korea.

My name is Justin and I am from the general area of Knoxville TN. I shoot as often as I can and look forward to taking my .17HMR out and playing with some four legged friends lol. I have been out of shooting for a while, just got back in and started reloading. I wanted to shoot my .444 Marlin and the price of 5 boxes of ammo nearly cost as much as my reloading equipment. So I plan to reload that in addition to .45acp and 7.62x54R for hunting etc. Thats about it!

I live in west Texas where the wind always blows. I have always loved guns. I have just started reloading in the last year. I have learned much from my successes but more from my failures as failures are more common. I am still looking for THE load for my .30-06 and my .223 weatherby varmint special. I just haven't gotten there yet. I am a staunch advocate of personal gun freedom and personal responsibility. A reasonable and sane man, left to himself without interference from an overbearing government, will make the best citizen. Those that profess to have my best interest and safety in mind and take away freedom for my safety and best interest are liars and self-serving tyrants wishing only to make me their slave.

Howdy, all

I'm Scot, and I'm a district sales manager for ATI (the gunstock manufacturer). I belong to a number of similar forums and find the level of informative discourse to be somewhat higher here than in other places.

You'll never find me trolling or flaming, and only will I be talking about my products if asked a direct question...no marketing efforts here. Nor will I trash the competition (why would I...some of them make great accessories).

Thanks for including me in the High Road.org!

mostoyswins;

Winston was almost always right and one of the wisest men ever. We could all learn a lot about the trouble we are in and our responsibilities by reading him. I am a so-so historian and have and have read every book he wrote. Thanks for listening.
