Long time lurker, short time poster. Mainly interested in practical rifles (22's and hunting rifles), shotguns and semi auto pistols. I've already learned a lot through y'alls combined knowlege, and am always looking to learn more. Mainly a varmint hunter, but I try my luck at Whitetails during Ohio's Gun Season. Located in the Heart of Ohio, deep in whitetail country.

Hello from Wisconsin

I'm 23 years old and pretty new here. I mostly shoot handguns, love Glocks! I have a Glock 19, 21sf, and 22 gen4. However, I'm open to other designs. For example I also own an an S&W M&P9 and hope to get a XD or XD-m soon.

Take care,
Evan :)

Hello!

Hey there. Glad I finally got around to joining this site, have used it numerous times when researching potential purchases. You all seem to be well informed. Mostly interesting in pistols, I enjoy the challenge. Thanks for having me!

New member. I was sent here by someone on a different site. Looks interesting so I joined. About me? Im a mechanic/maintenance man for a large food distribution chain. I like to shoot, hunt, fish, just regular guy stuff I guess.

Hi Guys. A Brit who loves to shoot - weird or what? In all seriousness, I used to shoot practical pistol, and was also a range master until we had that little priveledge taken away from us (we honest and legal handgun owners might have overturned the country). In fairness, Thomas and Hamilton (who committed the massacres that overturned gun law in the UK) were registered and licenced. The fact that the police knew that they were unstable and likely to blow a fuse apparrently has nothing to do with the fact that their licences were continually renewed. In the end, our cops got what they wanted - a blanket ban on personal possession of hanguns, and severe restrictions on any other type of firearm.
It's still possible to buy a handgun in the UK if you know where to go (I don't. I'm not in touch with that part of our "underground" - and an illegal firearm just reinforces those bumper stickers - If guns are illegal, only criminals will have guns") However, I completely agree with keeping a handgun as a personal defense. If someone breaks into my house, the best welcome for him would be a double tap between the eyes.

On to other things (rant and rave over!).

I keep my Mod 686 .357's in Arizona, where I can go into the hills and blatt off to my heart's content (I have a very understanding friend who looks after them) I'd love a customised M1 carbine which could shoot the same ammunition. Does anyone know of a gunsmith who could do one?

Many thanks, Chris.

Now that ^ is a classic post. The British are coming! ;)

There's something about .357 mag that says "Arizona".

Or is it that "Arizona" says .357 mag? :scrutiny:

Maybe both!

Just found this board, read a thread found some good information and decided to join. As to what firearms I'm into. Well the ones that shoot projectiles. Name it I like it. Recently I have been attempting long distance shooting.

New member here.

Been lurking for quite a while . . . probably won't post too much. There's so much good information I can always quickly find an answer by searching a few threads.

Me <-----just turned 50, kids are grown and (mostly) off the payroll. Been around guns all my life. My dad was a police officer and later a sheriff's deputy for many years, loved guns and was a superb shot. He passed gun enthusiasm on to me, but I haven't paid too much attention to them for a couple of decades, being busy raising a family. Recent events in our nation have changed that, however.

It's a pleasure browsing this forum. Looking forward to spending some quality time here in the future.

Gun list~ (all shooters. I don't own any museum pieces, nor will I)
-Winchester Model 94. A Buffalo Bill Commemorative, octagonal barrel carbine.
-Marlin Model 60.
-Remington Model 700 ADL Synthetic in .30-06.
-SKS. A Chinese beater, but sure fun to plink with.
-Colt "Government" Series 80, stainless, .45ACP

Howdy, grew up with guns- my earliest clear memory is my dad drawing on a paper plate how to line up the front and rear sight on my red ryder. I enjoy all types of shooting- archery as well. You can build a whole system of character development around marksmanship and I think that's awesome. Looking forward to asking questions here and making silly jokes. Peace

HELLO ,

Hell to all members of the THR. Long-time lurker decided to finally join, but still lurk more than post. This is a great site to collect information and observe interesting discussions.

My fascination with the firearms has evolved the usual path from teen-age hobby. Through the years, I have attempted to attain proficiency in competitive shooting. The next phase was concealed carry, when the struggle little by little turned in our favor, over the last twenty years. Nowadays my primary interests focuses on the preservation of gun rights in the United States for the future generations, my grandchildren closest in my heart.

SA from Pakistan

Hello everyone,

Been visiting this forum since a long long time and thought of joining today. I'm 32, from Karachi - Pakistan and an auditor/accountant by profession (CPA/CA).

Currently my inventory consists of:

1) Hyems .22 revolver (West Germany)

2) Taurus PT92

3) Taurus PT145 Pro

4) DSA 12 Gauge shotgun

Recently disposed off my CZ Brno .22lr and a Tokarev.

In Pakistan, we have our own localized gun forum serving to our needs http://www.pakguns.com/forum/

Looking forward to have a nice interaction with everyone here.

Finally found the intro.... Thread!

Hello,

My name is Trev, a friend of mine suggested I check this site out. It's a bit different than what I'm use to, but I'm adjusting.

I have many different interests when it comes to firearms and it's always changing. Wife thinks I have a problem....

I was a 6531 for four years, and have missed working on weapon systems since, so my crutch is civilian arms now.

Hi all! Been hanging around for a while and finally got to this page. Love the forum, this place is never boring. I love to shoot and have been doing so since I was a little boy. I am retired law enforcement, having pushed a patrol car for about 15 years. I am very pro 2nd Amendment. I also believe strongly in the mantra of the Oath Keepers, "To protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies foreign and domestic" and that the Constitution of these United States is the ultimate Law of the Land. I also believe there is no such thing as a bad gun, only a bad gun owner.......
I have a small arsenal of guns I love to shoot:
Mossberg 500 12 gauge
Remington 788 .308
Savage Model 64f .22lr
Winchester Model 94 .357 mag (probably my favorite to shoot)
Sig P239 9mm which is my carry gun.

The next gun I want is something in .223, not sure what yet. I have shot a lot of different rifles in .223, mini-14's, AR's, Su-16s, a couple of bolt actions (CZ's and Savage). I am still undecided. I also want to get a .30-06 Savage, just because.

Alrighty, you all have a good one!

Hello

Hello ya'll from Jawja (er, Georgia).
I go by Rush_Fan on the Georgia Outdoor News Forum, S&W forum, Gunbroker, and a new gun site, The Outdoors Trader Forum. On AR-15.com I go by FrontSightPress.

I'm an NRA Life Member, a recent college graduate at 39 years old (finally, done!) and an ex-LEO in a northern suburb of Atlanta. I like firearms of all types and first liked Glocks, Kimbers, Sigs, etc., and my deer rifles. About 2 years ago the S&W bug bit me really good. I really like pinned and recessed S&W revolvers (3 screw) from the 60's and 70's like my models 10, 14, 18, and 27. I recently got into SAA revolvers and have 2 .357's by Uberti. I'm trying to save up for a .357 lever gun and a 12 ga. SxS shotgun so I can maybe get into Cowboy Action Shooting.
I also like reloading. I consider myself a beginner, and I learned how by reading the Speer Reloading Manual #13 and the reloading forums on sites such as this. I've successfully reloaded hundreds of .45 FMJ and SWC, 9mm, .40 FMJ, and .38 Special SWC rounds. I've used this site several times and have been impressed with the knowledgeable folks that post on here. I hope I can contribute something worthwhile. Good Day!

Hey, everyone. New member here. I'm new to shooting, too, so I hope you guys will go easy on me.

There's no better place for a new shooter than THR. I know this from experience :) You WILL learn a lot, and meet many friendly folks who happily and generously share their knowledge!

Howdy Ya'll. Welcome to THR. Pull up a chair, listen up, and chime in. These folks will make you an expert before you know it.

+1 Walkalong

Almost 2 years later, I have learned much from the wisdom by our fellow members...However, there is still much much more to be learned. To all the new members, be safe, support the RKBA, learn, contribute and share the knowledge to the responsible!

:)

Hey guys..I found this site. Love it. I'm new here. I have a glock 19 with underrail tactical light and laser sight also. That add on is known as the GTL21 made by glock. Seems to be good. My brothers wife got the GTL21 for me for my bday. I used to have a glock 23C but opted for 9mm instead of the 40 cal after 5 years. I hope to learn alot on here!
