Greetings,
Born in, and lived in Colorado most of my life, married first and only time to a female woman,
For almost 37 years now. We live on my wife's family ranch, 640 acres in Rio Blanco county, (northwestern area of state). We have a dog and 3 horses, and some wild turkeys that are now tame.
I have 3 or 4 hunters come out per year, in second combination season - for mule deer and elk .
I do this mostly for fun, is why only a few hunters.
I have been slowly collecting firearms over the years, as well as a huge knife collection.
I have 3 pre- 1900 rifles that are my favorites, 1884 Springfield 45-70 block latch, 1889 marlin lever action 30-30 octagon barrel, and a 1904 roller block 7mm single shot.
The rest are regular sizes, a couple 5.56x45, a couple wood .243's, an ar10 .308 l.r., an Old 30.06,
26" 6.5 creedmoor, a few shotguns, and a .357 Blackhawk pistol.
i just Mention these for conversation reasons.

Hi everyone I'm Bill. I'm a 34. I'm From Pennsylvania split my time between pa and ak. I got my first rifle when I was 6 and have been shooting consistently since . I was very fortunate getting the opportunity to split my time between Alaska and pa as A kid , My father was stationed in kodiak Alaska as his last duty post and retired there . I am at the point of my life cleaning house of a lot of firearms favoring premium firearms and building a solid complete gun battery.

Welcome aboard. Lots of great info here. I learn something new everyday on THR. We can always appreciate a new point of view. Good group of folks here and the mods do a great job of keeping it High Road.

Hi Everyone,

I'm Stu and I'm a new member from Calgary, Alberta. Numerous web searches over the years have pointed me to The High Road but it was finding Driftwood Johnson's lengthy, thorough and hopefully still-in-the-making posts on shooting black powder that spurred me to join. I'm kind of a born again shooter...I grew up in the country where shooting in my back yard was pretty much a weekly thing. Then I moved to the city and sort of became semi-domesticated and didn't really touch a firearm for about 15 years. A few years ago I picked things up again and I'd say its a pretty big part of my life. In the last few months I've started reloading black powder and after reading Driftwood Johnson's posts I'm glad to say that I've got most of it right. Anyway, very glad to be joining another firearms' community.

I’m a newbie. Generally obsessed with hunting hill country Texas whitetails and other critters that roam the hills. I spice up my hunts by varying between rifle, bow or handguns. This year I have a new Kimber 10mm 1911 and a Remington VTR in 260. I’m currently trying to handload a perfect round for this gun. Tricky with a short barrel.

Howdy, I'm a college student in the great state of Nebraska. Born and bred in the sandhills and grew to love hunting there. I love all things shotgun, but I'm just starting to get into reloading and looking to begin my first AR build. So far I'm really enjoying this forum. Lots of good folks and lots of knowledge that I don't have! I'm getting there slowly, so keep it up! Happy shooting!

Not really new but it's been so long since I signed up I couldn't remember my info. Since my recovery email is ancient history I just started over. Nobodies likely to remember me anyway.

Hello there. I'm James and I am from BC, Canada. I have been reading threads on this forum for a long time but just now signed up as a member. Lots of knowledgeable people here. I enjoy shooting any firearm, but I am really interested in branching out into long-range rifles, revolvers, and handloading.

Hello everyone, new guy here!
At this particular juncture in my life, I'm primarily a black powder shooter. Both cartridge and cap and ball. Although I do still like to bird hunt with my shotguns. I live in California, which makes things harder but I still manage.

I'm looking forward to hanging around here and learning something. You're never too old to learn! Thanks for the add!

Hi, I'm an old guy, but not too old, in Arizona. I've been shooting firearms of all types since I was a kid. Also love reloading. I am a huge proponent of the Second Amendment and our whole Constitution actually, one of, if not the greatest, document ever written.

Hi everyone,
Another new guy here. I've been reading threads on here for years and though I would join. I've been shooting rifles since I was 8 and picked up handguns years later. This resulted in my accumulation of many handguns and rifles and on that front I feel that I'm in good company. I've also been reloading for over a decade and recently picked up a progressive press which was a great decision.

Welcome! You don't say where you're from but I hope the gun laws in your state are better than mine. Like you, I lurked for a long time before joining and have been on again and off again as life permitted; a pretty common pattern as far as I can see.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm fortunate on the location front. My state does not have many gun laws (beyond the federal laws). I'll probably on and off again as well since between the kids, pets, and work my time is a bit limited.

I'm a not so new member of TFL, and go by MTHALO over there.
I just moved to Florida this year, and I'm primarily into military surplus firearms. I appreciate the history behind them.

I'm also into the political side of gun ownership, and view the right to keep and bear arms as a basic human right.

Hi EttenBoom-
I am a new (actually re-activated member) and I also have a rather strong level of interest in "Military Surplus" weapons. I am
a "history buff" myself. LIving in The People's Republic of Maryland makes gun ownership somewhat difficult.

From one old guy in Arizona to another, welcome.
I spent a little time in Arizona while in the Army. I was 19 and got a driver's license that expired when I turned 65! I also took a gun qual class there, dont remember which, but never got to apply for anything cuz I got sent overseas shortly thereafter. I have fond memories of the wild west there.

I'm a newbie, and a lady newbie from Texas at that. I've recently acquired a revolver to get the kids used to shooting cuz they said they were intimidated by semi-autos.

I've been using this forum to acquaint myself with basic revolver knowledge. I've got years of familiarity with the M16 and a Glock 17, so you know my past jobs. However, this is only the second revolver I've ever shot and first owned. I shot a Taurus 38 special 4" barrel for class in Arizona years ago, and it was such a joy to shoot. I special ordered an SP101 shortly thereafter, but then got sent overseas so I canceled the order. Ever since then it's only been semi autos in my small hands. So you guys have been crucial to my education and I thank y'all. Well you and Paul Harrell, lol.

Long time lurker now a member. Daytona Beach Florida. I’m a long time shooter used to do IDPA now planning on shooting steel events for fun.
A small collection of pistols and AR in various calibers. It’s fun building up AR with the components you choose. Non political I just like guns cars and motorcycles.
