Hello GatorHunter and welcome! Glad we can be a resource for you, and now you have decided to be a resource for us! We will be looking forward to hearing more of your experience and wisdom. It doesn't take long to work out who knows what they are talking about, and who likes the sound of their own voice. I hope we can make you smile occasionally, and that you will brighten other people's day as well. Enjoy!

I have no idea! My welcome is gone also. Generally, if something is deleted by a moderator or administrator there is a message confirming and a reason for the deletion. I wonder if an interruption of service lost an entry or two? I will inquire of staff. It certainly was nothing you did.

Hello!
I've been so thankful for the information here so many times that I pretty much HAD to join. LOL.
My interweb searches for gun advice always seem to include helpful information from the forums here.
I've been helped by y'all on everything from my WASR to my blackpowder and others in between so thank you!

Welcome, TwistingInTheWind! We are glad you joined up, because people like you make us what we are. There is a lot of experience on tap, and we try to keep things calm so the information can flow easily. Your experience will be helpful, I am sure. Best regards.

New member from Boise, Idaho checking in. I grew up shooting and hunting in Montana, lived various places and have been in Idaho for the last 21 years. I am 61 years old and like to hunt, shoot, reload, ride motorcycles, work in the shop, etc. I have been reloading since I started in 1972, for my Mossberg 880 243 bolt rifle.

I'm on a few of the shooting forums, always under the same handle.

Welcome, tominboise. Thanks for checking in. Please make yourself at home, and check out the THR primer in the general gun discussion section to see how we roll. All we ask is that you treat others the same way you like to be treated. And don't hesitate to ask if you have questions.

Hello, Dinomite, and welcome. We hope you will enjoy your time here. We have a lot of experience and a little wisdom, but can always use more.
Patience and kindness will always be appreciated.

Greetings all my name is Adam and I am from Kentucky. Been shooting for many years. Really like revolvers, lever actions, and bolt actions. Starting to get into long range shooting and loading my own rounds.

John here. Originally from Indiana. Joined the Army Reserve out of High School in 1984 but transferred to Active Duty 3 months after I finished Basic/AIT as a Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic and they reclassified me immediately to Fire Support Specialist (Forward Observer) because the Active Army didn't need more Mechanics. I recently became an FFL and will be operating a small shop next to my home here in Wyoming. I have carried most of my adult life and love Hunting, Shooting, Teaching and Sailing. I am looking Forward to using my FFL to accelerate my retirement. I have been bumping into this forum for years searching the Internet for this or that and I thought I might as well join since I could have shared with others on posts I've seen here when I've noticed incomplete or inaccurate responses. Thanks for letting me in!

Welcome, John. That's how I joined too. I kept getting search results that showed THR when I was looking for answers. Over and over, answers to powder recalls, handloading, comparisons between calibers and models, etc. I'm not a joiner, and not big on talking on the Internet, and I dislike the arguing that seems to be everywhere. But this place is different, and I appreciate how civil it is. It's the members that really make this place what it is. Again, welcome. It sounds like you have a lot to add.

Good day to all. My name is Joe, retired and living in SC. At 69 I'm still hunting as best I can. Served as a Navy Corpsman 70-76. My collection goes from trapdoors to Vietnam era but primarily WWI and WWII long guns and pistols. I've gotten into reloading which was certainly a bad decision on my part with the current supply/demand crisis most reloaders are facing. I hope to network with other reloaders and collectors. Thanks

Welcome, Joe! The reloading component shortage has us all wondering, but seems to be improving slowly. Thank you for the introduction. We are happy that you signed on!

Hello all! I’ve joined after a few weeks of searching the web for info on a project and found a lot of good stuff on this site. The search option is handy. I am primarily a hunter, not a target shooter. My project is my grandfathers 30-06 Remington 700. I have been using it for a while and have taken 15 big game species in 3 countries. It is unfortunately not a long range weapon due to accuracy. I am researching what steps to take for making it a 200 to 400 yard gun for elk and such. I look forward to everyone’s input.

Welcome to THR, Walleyewarrior7! You should be able to find some helpful information in the rifle country section. Not all guns can be tack drivers, but most can be improved incrementally. Thank you for the introduction, and I hope you will check out the THR primer and sticky notes at the head of sections you visit.

Hi,
New guy on forum from East TN. Retired factory automation (PLC) guy.
Been a Thompson Center fan since buying my first Hawkens in 1977. Since retirement been adding to collection and turkey hunting when I can. Looking forward to gaining knowledge from forum members.

Kelljp, it's a pleasure to welcome you to the group. We hope you will enjoy yourself and add to the depth of experience and helpfulness that distinguishes this group from many others on the net. All we ask is that you be patient and kind, and I suspect that won't be a problem for you. Be sure to review the sticky note threads at the top of sections you post in, and check the THR primer in the general gun discussions section. Thanks for the intro.

Hi all. Glad to be here! I really enjoy this forum. Veteran, been shooting, hunting most of my life. Started reloading 30 years ago, but still learning. I really enjoy lever actions and single actions, but also use and appreciate bolts, semis and others.

Welcome, Twindad! You should be right at home with our crew. We have a good cross section of shooting enthusiasts and we try to keep a civil tone. We hope you will enjoy your time with us. Thank you for the intro!

Lots of new folks coming in, howdy from the commonwealth of Kentucky!

I am a member at a couple other places, However, I really like it here cause of the "caliber" of folks.

Thank you for both accepting my membership, and the greeting.

I started my shooting at the age of 12, 1962, with my adopted Grandfathers guidance, using his Winchester pump 22LR, and shot "expert" with the M-14 six years later in Ft. Lewis, WA.

Although I still own "almost enough" firearms, my Physical Condition (muscle issues) keeps me OFF the Range: As a ~SAFETY FIRST~ shootist, I knew that time would come. (Asa former Driver for several companies, that motto has now brought my Driving to a halt as well).

But I still love the Hobby, and hence, joined The High Road~

Sincerely,

philip in the Great Pacific NorthWET.

PS: I am limited on internet availability, so I will check in Several Times a week!

Greetings! I live on the East side of Washington, but my daughter and son-in-law are currently stationed at Fort Lewis. Now known as Joint Base Lewis-McChord. I was just there for Christmas and got to witness the horror of them getting a few inches of snow. Hilarious!
