New member from KY

Hello All,

New member here from Kentucky. I've been reading these forums for a while and decided I might as well join!

I like all types of firearms, and have owned several different ones in the past. Currently I own a Taurus single action Gaucho in .357, a Bersa .380 duo tone (my first CCW gun) and a Remmington 597 .22 semi auto.

Glad to be here!

Hi everyone, I'm Chris from DFW, TX area. I've always had a great passion for firearms. Growing up as a kid we didn't do a lot of gun stuff but was always interested in it. When I turned 21 I went to the range and shot a hand gun for the first time and that was it for me, I'm hooked and bought a G22 that day. Now really interested in CCW aspect as I have a wife and two daughters and another on the way. Have applied for my CHL and still waiting for the plastic to arrive. Came accross this forum from a link at the GT forum. Looks like a really great place to hang out and learn some new stuff.

Hey

I'm a guy from Queesn ny. I have been shooitng shotguns my whole life, skeets no hunting. I have recently started to build a house in Pennsylvania and given the much better gun laws I started to read a bunch of these forums and kept coming back here. I have taken a lot of your guys advice in deciding on my ideas for my collection hwne my move is complete. I have several shotguns already for all purposes and have just added two Marlin 22's to the collection because I can admit I ahve no REAL knowledge of rifles or handguns. I did grow up menacing the streets here in NY and as wrong as it was it does'nt mean I was'nt exposed to guns it's just I can admit I don't ralle know how to be proficinet with them. Look forward to speaking with you guys.

hello to all..im new to this group of like minded people ..like what i see so far...im living in canada and our firearms laws are kind of in the air right now ...im ex military 2nd bat RCR infantry and shoot almost every week...having gone through just about anything you can fire ive come to rely on what i think are the 6 best all-around long arms and handguns...well like i say im in canada and its a big hassle to own them and ive never had much use for them...doesnt mean i dont know how to use em..im looking to learn more from people who use what they have and know what they are talking about, not just repeating what they find on google, nice to meet you all ....

Introduction

Hi, I'm a 21 year veteran of a local county sheriff's department. I grew up in Hawaii (Oahu)Hickam AFB and Aiea. I live in Southern California and I was once an avid collector of firearms.

I no longer shoot my weapons except for my G27 and G23 and only for qualification purposes. Shooting in Kalfornia is no longer an enjoyable hobby for me, it seems that the powers that be have lumped us in the same group as smokers.

There was a time when taking out the AKM, CAR15 or the Drag was pure pleasure. Then the questions at the range became more than annoying, "Are those LEGAL?" The last straw was being questioned by a deputy from the county I was in at the range. After speaking with him, I was told someone at the range called because they thought I had "Illegal weapons."

I still own my weapons but the are packed for long term storage.

I am looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Best regards

Hello All,
I am fairly new here, joined several months ago but didn't know about this particular thread till just now. My name is John, most people call me "little John" (all 6' and 330+ pounds of me ;)
I am 38 and live in Oregon (Oregun for those east of the Rockies :)) I have loved guns all my life, it's my Dad's fault... Still can remember browsing through his American Rifleman mags when I was a kid. I like all sorts of guns, pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns and etc. I don't shoot as often as I would like, but that's probably the case for all of us.

Don't have half the guns I would like to have, but probably have enough... I am a devout supporter of the 2nd amendment and try to be active in support of our gun rights.

I have a great wife who has actually bought me several guns for different occasions, Anniversary and birthday. Sorry she doesn't have any sisters, she does have a brother, but I think he tends to the liberal side of life. Two great kids Joshua and Sabrina and as they get older I will try to teach them to respect firearms and love them, or at least like them.

Hey all... My name is Blake. I live near Seattle and I'm getting back into firearms again after a 13 year break. My primary interest lies in high power rifle accuracy and reloading which i'm new at. I'll be reloading .25-06 and .223 and also shoot a S&W .22LR Pistol and a Ruger 10/22. My high power rifles are a 25 year old custom Interarms Mark X sporter (.25-06) and a brand spankin new Remington 700 LV SF .223. Looking forward to my first varminting trip in June.

I been lurking around THR for awhile, reading all the good info, and never had the urge or need to post. The other day I got a couple of Hi Vis sights for my Kimbers. A low and behold I couldn't find a Gunsmith that would take on the task of installing them. :banghead:I was kind of out of ideas:confused:of how I was going to get the old ones out and the new ones installed. Particularly since one of the smiths told me the only way to get them changed was send them to Kimber's Custom shop. So I joined to post.:) To get the straight poo.
Interested in: handguns, wheels & Auto's, 22, 38/357, 41Mag, 44Spl/mag and 45ACP/Colt. Long guns 22, 243, 7x57, 25-06, 270 and my baby! the 35 Whelen!:) and reload for all. and would probably do 22's if there was a way. Rugers, Remingtons, Kimbers, S&W, Colt and Custom Mausers. Are all my friends. Dabble in Photography and old cars. and have been known to wet-a- line a time or two.
So Hi Ya'll:D
Dave

:confused:Hey Folks,
I have just come across a strange rifle. It's a single shot bolt with 2 triggers and no safety, the back trigger is some kind of a set trigger when pulled makes the front one a HAIR (the front works as normal when used alone)
The gun its self is a very very light barrel and almost toyish stock.
The only marking on the barrel are 9m/m and Flocore?(and a couple foreign symbols)
A 9mm Luger pistol round does not fit in the chamber.....
A .32 Bore sight rod fits nuggly in the muzzle.
The over all legnth is 41.5'' ......the barrel is 24''

Any help in identifing this strange firearm would be greatly appreciated.
Dirk

Dirk:

Welcome to THR. You'll probably have more luck getting this question answered if you post it in the *Rifle Country* section.

Hi, I am Golan, a long time lurker from Israel (I always get a kick out of the misinformed threads on how Israeli's do things better - mostly we have a different situation here). I am 50, retired Policeman, retired from the army after 32 years (3 years draft and 29 years reserve). Have been to the USA many times and love the people and the land. Wish we had a constitution here but sadly we are very socialistic and freedom is not something many truly enjoy.
Best regards, Golan

Welcome Golan. Sorry to hear. I though one of the reasons We support Israel so closely is because of your democracy. But, I'm guessing socialism is still a far cry better then your neighbors political set up. Unfortunately, we are heading down the road to socialism. Just look at our rights and watch them erode away...and watch SOME of us fight it tooth and nail.

My name is David and I live in Cary, NC.

Both my wife and I are avid recreational shooters and concealed handgun permit holders. We both enjoy shooting handguns, but I also like adding to my slowing growing C&R collection. I am planing on becoming a NRA Basic Pistol Instructor when the training is offered later this summer.

Hi All. I live in Florida and enjoy many firearm freedoms. I go to the gun range about every two weeks with different firearms (don't want to play favorites).

Dirk:

Just read your post in the Rifle section. Glad to see the guys there could help you out.

That's what folks do here on THR and that's exactly why I've hung around since its inception.

Good to have you aboard.

Live in Alabama (good or bad, you can decide). I am the odd ball of the group more than likely. I Pastor a church, and love shooting! Pistols are my fun, rifles second, shotguns a close third...I really don't like hunting, but target and plinking is awesome. Thanks for all the help and advise available here! Keep America Free, and Bullets Zinging!

Howdy,

My name's Ryan, I'm a senior (going on super senior and probably will have a 6th or 7th year...) at Virginia Tech. I enjoy shooting and have hunted since I was little, but am just now getting into owning my own handguns. I'm in the process of buying my first handgun (I own a few, but they were all given to me by my granddad) and will apply for my CHP as soon as I can get some questions answered.
