Hello. I'm not a
really new member, but I am still new. So I thought one of these introduction things was in order. I'm seventeen, turning eighteen in a little less than a month and a half. I live in a somewhat small town in Louisiana. My favorite types of firearms are DA revolvers, SA revolvers, handguns, lever rifles, and shotguns. I do not hunt, most all of my shooting is done at either targets or various objects--cans, plastic bottles, fruit, etc. My first gun was a Heritage Arms single-action Army clone in .22 LR. It has since broken, I but intend to purchase a Marlin lever-action .30-30 on my birthday.
I used to go to The Firing Line forums and am a member of a firearms "guild" on a more youth-oriented forum.
I became seriously interested in firearms while playing the video game Resident Evil 4. I was fascinated by the different kinds, modifications, histories, applications. And before I knew it I was a certified gun nut.
My other interests include writing novels and short stories and I'm currently somewhere around a third of the way through my mystery novel. Although many of my stories feature firearms prominantly and in a possibly overly-detailed way, this one is trying to get away from that. But my next mystery will have firearms more common and in more detail. I would like to be published some day, but realize that's a lofty goal and am also interested in the field of private investigation for a career.
I really enjoy this forum and have already learned a lot. I'm sure I Will contine to do so as well.
