Wulfy!

Sweet - you made it here. Most excellent.

And Oleg - it made both of ours. Thank you.

Greeting, y'all!

Janitor dragged me here, so blame him! Just kidding. Glad to be here. Just retired from staff at same said forum. Be gentle with the newb. I'll do my best not to write any novels or hijack any threads. :)

A little about myself. I'm a born and bred Texan, and I type alot like I talk, so beware (and please don't throw things at me). I'm an IT geek by profession. I love sci-fi anything (Blade Runner is the BEST movie ever made), I am obviously a gun enthusiast, I do like to play Xbox 360 and pc games (I'm a 9 year old trapped in a 39 year old body), I teach martial arts, and I love movies. I am a knowledge junkie, so I'm a good student and I like to learn. I look forward very much to making my home here. Woohoo!!!!

As we lay waste to the THR welcome thread. So typical of us though. Sorry folks - this is old home week for us. I couldn't be happier that some of my favorite people have come here to join in.

Oleg, et-al :

These are great and knowledgeable folks that have joined here today. I hope you enjoy their company as much as I have (and still do).

Hello from Indiana, everyone, I found THR while browsing for information on the Walther P1 for a fellow member on stoppingpower.net. I'm in my 32nd year as an LEO, the last 3+ years as a crime scene/evidence tech. In contrast to the science fiction found on TV, I prefer to think of myself as "CSI: Mayberry", although we do have a homicide every now and then - but thankfully, not as often as in the big cities. I am an NRA Life Member, and a firm believer in RKBA. I began carrying for SD after returning from Vietnam for the final time, and always carry when off duty -generally my own Glock 19, sometimes the issued Glock 17.

I hope to learn a lot from THR. Some of the exchanges about the P1 were very interesting, indeed!

Hi All!!
Long time lurker! This has always been a knowledgeable and friendly site!

I shoot .22-250/ .223/.22mag/.22LR in the general direction of varmints and sometimes targets! I reload for same. I also enjoy rimfire and especially the great American wonder, the 1022! I like stock refinishing and tweaking!
I've recently gotten interested in rimfire handguns!
It's all good!

Hello. I'm not a really new member, but I am still new. So I thought one of these introduction things was in order. I'm seventeen, turning eighteen in a little less than a month and a half. I live in a somewhat small town in Louisiana. My favorite types of firearms are DA revolvers, SA revolvers, handguns, lever rifles, and shotguns. I do not hunt, most all of my shooting is done at either targets or various objects--cans, plastic bottles, fruit, etc. My first gun was a Heritage Arms single-action Army clone in .22 LR. It has since broken, I but intend to purchase a Marlin lever-action .30-30 on my birthday.

I used to go to The Firing Line forums and am a member of a firearms "guild" on a more youth-oriented forum.

I became seriously interested in firearms while playing the video game Resident Evil 4. I was fascinated by the different kinds, modifications, histories, applications. And before I knew it I was a certified gun nut.

My other interests include writing novels and short stories and I'm currently somewhere around a third of the way through my mystery novel. Although many of my stories feature firearms prominantly and in a possibly overly-detailed way, this one is trying to get away from that. But my next mystery will have firearms more common and in more detail. I would like to be published some day, but realize that's a lofty goal and am also interested in the field of private investigation for a career.

I really enjoy this forum and have already learned a lot. I'm sure I Will contine to do so as well.

:D

Hello, I'm a new member from NJ. I'm starting a collection of retro AR-15/M-16 rifles. I have alot of parts, but more questions. The first question is on what year, and model AR-15/M-16 used a brass pin for the foreman sling swivel vs. the steel pin?
