Im new here. Trying to find out more info on colt magnum carry revolvers. I saw one that said magnaport custom engraved on the side. Is that a factory colt? Magnaport does their porting i think, but they engraved it on this one. No idea what its worth. Im considering buying it.

New here loving my new Larue PredarAR 762

Just really got into Firearms in the last year started with a Sig 556xi, next an AR and then needed something in case a Grizzly attacked me. (You gotta be prepared you know). that brought me to a Bushmaster OCR .308. Then after buying a Larue mount for Leopold started looking at some of Mark's other beautiful machines and decided to get a Larue PredatAR 7.62 and I love it. So much that I am going to start reloading for working up the perfect load for it. I've only fired about 300 rounds of .308 all together between my OCR and Larue and was able to pull off some pretty nice groups but I want to do better. I just seen on the Larue website they are going to making Bolt action Rifles named Siete. I will be buying one as soon as they hit market. Here's some pic's. And yes that is at 100yds I would post post the pic if it wasn't. That was the best group of the day but was averaging 1.25moa. I am still working on fundamentals.

I got my first .22 rifle in 1966 when I was 11. I've been doing Civil War re-enacting since 1990 and own a few different types of guns. Been wanting to live fire my Enfield for awhile now. This is a great site with lots of info. Thanks.

Welcome to all the new members.

I'm actually subscribed to this thread, and I read it every few days.
It's so interesting to read about what brings people here -- backgrounds, interests, etc.

And it's great to see this fine forum continuing to grow.

Word to the wise: pay attention to the rules. This one is moderated considerably tighter than most gun forums. I get my hand slapped from time to time. But that's what makes it such a great forum. ;)

I've lasted here for just over 10 years. If I don't get too crazy, I'll be here for 20.

Gun Community Wall Flower

Hi all. It's been a long while since I've posted on a forum of any type. However, seeing as I pop in and out of here periodically looking for answers to this or that gun-related question, I figured I'd join. I'm a long time gun enthusiast, precision rifle nut, and FNG at USPSA, IDPA, and Multigun. Looking forward to some (hopefully) interesting conversation. Hate to be that guy, but check out my youtube channel I've been working up...

Hi All,
Just an old retired Coastie, Finally bought a companion to my old 45 Cal (M1911A1) - like me, it is getting old. It is so well used and so loose that it can make ka-chinking sounds when its in the cabinet and no one is touching it. But it still shoots reliably and it works, and I can take it apart, clean it and reassemble it in the dark, but it IS OLD. So I got a highpoint at a gun show - $180 Brand new. I had never heard of them, and it seems OK. A US made 9mm for $180?? I liked the price I bought some ammo at the gun show, too, and one out of 5 or 6 in the whole box misfired. I was not very "up" on 9mm semis or the ammo, and I called Highpoint - GOT A HUMAN - first try! He asked me about the brand, the load - number of grains. I had 2 boxes, one was 7.45 and other was 8.20 - he said the try the other - call me back. I did that - shot all 50 and not one jammed. Well.. that's my 9mm Noobie story from a Noobie on THR! That is NOT much difference (7.45 to 8.20 - weighd them myself - they are what they say). Does this sound right to anyone? Or is the other box just crappy old ammo? Both are Magtech - and I have used Magtech with my 45 and never misfired that I remember (it IS usually less expensive ammo - money is tight sometimes but when you want to practice, you want to - or you NEED to!). Glad to be here.
Y'all take care! I'll be around.
Richard

Hello!

Hello everyone I have finally taken the dive and decided to create an account for multiple reasons. I am a 23 year old from Texas who has literally spent too many hours (college grades would agree) reading forum posts here to count. I would say a great majority of my firearm knowledge has been influenced by THR threads (good thing? :neener: ) and I hope that continues now that I wish to be a full time member!

New member

Hi everyone. I've lurked on this board for a good long while and decided finally to set up an account. I look forward to posting and interacting with the good people of this forum.

Long time lurker, New Member Sign up

Decided to pull the trigger and sign up for an account. Always cruised the site just never signed up. Not sure why. Anyway I joined for nothing more than being a part of the community. Mainly interested in computers/guns/2nd amendment/building ecommerce sites and bitcoin. Happy Shooting!

New Member

Hi All,
I'm excited to be a new member of this extremely helpful forum. I moved from New Jersey to Maine a while back and was happy to find the people here actually have Second Amendment rights.
As a high school history teacher, my interests lean towards military surplus arms because of the great history behind them (maybe not so tactical but, nothing beats some good ol' wood n steel in my opinion).
Anyway, thanks for having me,
Dom

New to THR

Nice site you guys have here, I am well established with 24hourcampfire.com, texashuntingforum.com, texasbowhunter.com and 2coolfishing.com.

Looking at some of the threads there is only one page what is viewable, is this because I am new and I will be able to see more later as I post?

New French member

Hello,
I am a new member, I apologize for my English, It is not always very good.
I like long guns mostly, my favourite is my last purchase, a Savage 219b,
30-30 bore. Il like also the lever action.

Greetings. I had an account many years ago but forgot the username and associated email. I've been into shooting since 8 or 9. Lost my handguns in a home break-in a few years ago and just now got around to picking up another one. Mostly for carry due to ISIS's call to kill service members and their families where they stand in the street, and especially after the Chatanooga shootings at the reserve center.

My son is reaching the age where I first learned to shoot so it is time to pass that on as well.

I had an account here many moons ago but forgot everything associated with it. Ive been into all types of firearms for about 35 years, lots of good people in this business & hobby. Looking for any knowledge I can use and always willing to share somethings w/others! :)

Wife and I got concealed carry permits a couple years ago and needed to learn and practice. We think our culture is declining and coursening. Found that a couple of my good friends also shoot at the same range, now 3 of us guys go most Thursdays, mostly shoot clay pigeons at about 80' but some get buried before we can hit them (grin). We're not good, but improving. Got into reloading .45 acp & 9mm and thoroughly enjoy it. About 4000 rounds so far. Enjoy this sport more than I ever dreamed I would. THR is a wonderful resource - thanks. Shoot Kahr cm9, cm45, old 1911A1, and CZ75BD

I'm also new here. I've checked in just a few times but never interacted until this past week. From Maine, been hunting, fishing and shooting since I was old enough to keep from acquiring a Weatherby (leupold) kiss. Mostly interested in walnut and steel but have an appreciation for all things firearms and our 2A rights. Never belonged to a shooting range but always had one in the back yard. Back yard clays and out to 300 yards are my hobbies when I'm not chasing wildlife. I'm a 28 year old "fudd" by most definitions.

Hello, new member from Kansas City! I'm a filmmaker and videographer. I love all types of guns, really. However, lately I've grown very fond of the 1911. I will be purchasing a Smith and Wesson 1911c E-Series Round Butt in the VERY near future! I do enjoy politics but sometimes I have to disengage from it for my own mental health.

I'm happy to be a part of the HighRoad Forum. Everytime I google I firearm question, this forum has the answer! So I hope I can contribute in the future!
