Lurked on this board for a long time before coming a member. Thought being a member on thefiringline was enough to fuel my addiction. Guess not. Now, y'all will have to suffer dealing with me now that I can post...;)

Hey all of you. I'm just saying hi:)

Also, this is one nice gun site and I hope to be around here often. See ya when I see ya!;)

Hello all, the name is Darren. Currently in the Upstate region of SC. gunner in an abrams in the first gulf war and ex-Corrections officer in NC

Howdy from Texas. Found this forum from a link. Lots of great stuff on here! I'm a P220 fan, in search of a LNIB late model standard P220 without the rail, in the D/FW area.

Hi I am new member from dallas area and I found this site through aguyindallas who is senior member. I am intrested mostly in long guns and getting ready for my first AR build.

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and figured I'd go ahead and join as a legit member.

My condensed bio:

Born in Canada in '64, moved to the States sometime around '70, became a US citizen in '79 at the age of 14. Somehow managed to graduate from high school and joined USAF and served four years as a SP (2854th SPS, Tinker AFB). Became a civy with a regular job, got married, got divorced, got remarried to a gal from Canada. Although I'm a resident of Oklahoma, custody issues of my step-daughter has me "living" in Canada momentarily (dual citizenship has it's advantages), I work in the US driving a Freightliner around in circles.

At the moment my gun collection stands at nil. The temporary move to Canada and their restrictive gun laws prompted me to sell off my collection to a few good friends. Of the guns I miss the most was my Detonics MkVI .45ACP which was my CW back in Oklahoma.

Eventually when my step-daughter leaves the nest in a couple of years I'll bring my wife down to the states (legally of course) and then again begin the process of rearming. In the meanwhile, I'm just an armchair gunowner enjoying this forum. :)

Hi, I'm fairly new to guns. I had a cheap copy of a nylon 66 when I was about 18-19 which I gave to my freinds daughter after it ceased to function as other than a single-shot (the magazine tube got screwed up) and a mossburg (I have no idea which model as I bought it from a freind and knew very little about guns at the time) 12 guage shotgun, a little later on and also a Winchester 12 guage (also purchased from a freind) which I loved and repent selling. Last year I took up backpacking and decided I needed a handgun (a very easy aquisition in my home (FREE) state of NH), I purchased a used S&W .357 magnum DA six-shooter, which I like because it makes a very satisfying KABOOM! when I pull the trigger and will kill anything I may encounter in the woods. Unfortunately, it is horribly uncomfortable to wear in a holster with a backpack on and so I bought a CPO Sig P229 in .40S&W which is infinately more comfortable (and accurate) than my Revolver and holds twice as many rounds. I also decided that since I had a CCW already (VERY easy to obtain in NH) I should aquire a personal defense weapon and purchased a Kel-Tec P3AT that I carry daily. Somewhere along the line I became infected with Gun-Fever and since I am poor, I gravitated to the SNS guns. I love Ravens and I don't care who knows it. I like guns period, and I don't care who makes them as long as they go "bang" when I pull the trigger (sometimes my Ravens go "click", but I don't count on them for self-defense or anything) and put a hole in the general area I was aiming at.

I'm from South Africa, 23 years of age, white male.

Been lurking a few months and finally did it - decide to come up with a user name (hard part) and register. When you find you start going for the reply button and it's not there, it's time to register.

.22LR competitive shooting all through high school. Been a legal gunowner since I was sixteen (the laws were so much better then). Occasionaly carried since I was sixteen for protection on our two small farms. Got three guns total.

In the process of trying to register a nib Glock 17 - can't wait - only a few more months of waiting for the gov to let me know.

I'm not new completely new to forums and I know about paragraphs and stuff :D

Hi ya'll. I live in Memphis. I am interested in self-defense, especially while riding a bicycle. I got rid of my car 6 years ago and I now have 5-6 bikes (it is debatable what counts as a 'working bike'. ) Got a couple of antique hand guns and I'm about to purchase a couple of Glocks for me and my wife. Went to military school as a kid, Dad was a Lifer, did a few years active duty (Army) after I had registered as a CO for Viet Nam. "What a long, strange trip it's been".

New here

Been a gun enthusiast since I was a kid, now 55 and thought I' d look for a good gun forum to go with my guitar, vette and goat forums. Found this one and decided to joined.

On a side note. anyone every get an message Administrator has banned your ip address... Looking to buy a Glock in a few weeks so found GLOCKTALK and it gave me that message and would not let me register. Any other good places besides here to read about and review Glocks?

Thanks in advance

Hello!

I'm Will. I'm 18 and live in east-central Alabama.

I'm a regular over as the Hoodlums forum (been a member for two years; fuzz over a thousand posts) so some of you might know me from there.

I've been a lurker here for a pretty long time (can't google anything firearms-related without ending up here!).

Hi...

New here... I'm Deb. New (soon to be) gun owner. Still researching what to buy... small in stature, need concealed carry, leaning toward .380 (Bersa)... Am also considering perhaps a .38 or compact .40? Money/quality an issue. Can't go out and get a 1000.00 weapon... Any advice, replies welcome...
TIA

Why 22mag autoloading rifles discontinued?

Hey, y'all-

Mike from NW Virginia--new here--just wondering if anybody knows why they don't make these any more; I want one, but not a blown out one...thanks

How y'all are? I'm Richard from L.A.(lower Arkansas). Was directed here from
All About Guns, I guess they shut down. I like all guns and have several, but no smoke poles yet. Had a CCW but let it expire due to having diabetic eye surgery when it came time to renew. Temporary unemployed and going to school. And the only male in a house with 3 women. This looks like a fun place.

Dhelynn, I own a .380 Bersa Thunder that I bought for my wife. She's 5'2 and I'm 5'10 with short fingers. We can both shoot it fairly easily. Easy to control and carry. The only thing I don't like is there are fewer options for holsters and things like laser sights.
The only .40 I have is a Beretta Model 96 Brigadeer. A very good gun, but it's bigger than a full size Colt gov. .45. Extremely hard to carry concealed, although possible. The size and weight also make for a smooth shooting gun, with the weight helping to reduce recoil. I have a Charles Daly compact .45. Also a heavy gun to carry and the recoil makes it hard to control, at least for me. And the weight always makes me feel like it pulling my pants down.
See if any gun stores in your area has an indoor range where you can rent a gun for a small fee and test shoot several models to see what feels good in your hands. Or ask any friends who have several different guns to take you shooting and let you try them out. Good luck!

Hello all,

I'm Jim and have been a self-defense enthusiast for years. My current collection includes a Winchester 70 in 7mm Rem. mag, DPMS AR-15, Ithaca s/s double barrel shotgun (old), Franchii Sportster o/u, Benelli M1014 Super 90, Sig Sauer P229 in .357 Sig, and a Kimber Eclipse Target. My collection has changed throughout the years, I'll be looking for some hunting and rifle advice. Never been hunting before but I want to start as soon as my gunsmith finishes mounting the scope.

I'm a newbee here. I live in Ohio wich is a slug gun only state for derr. I love mossberg shotguns. I also enjoy ground hoging througout the year. I am currently getting into coyote hunting. I also just purchased my first hunting revolver, so I am waisting a lot of money getting that dialed in now. Thats about it. If you want to know more just ask.

hi all, been lurking for a while, made a couple posts here but most of the time, I'm beaten to my thoughts. But I highly appreciate the well informed posts on here.
hmm...some details about myself:
I am a 21 y/o male and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. This is not a very firearm friendly city as the shooting ranges are few and far between. Even when you do find one, none of them are "black gun" compliant. I have a Beretta 92FS and a Colt AR-15 Match Target with the heavy barrel. Even with the 10 round mag in the AR, they will not allow me into the range with an 'automatic assault weapon' to quote several of the range managers. I can shoot the 92FS out here at any range I choose, but I can't seem to find myself wanting to just shoot a handgun when I go to shoot. I always wanna balance out my practice with long arms too.

Growing up, I lived in the boonies and never needed a shooting range. Our house was situated into the side of a hill with about 10 empty acres below us. We used a large oak billet as a bullet stop. It took years and years of abuse through rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, whatever and it never faltered at all. Now I live in a residential area and even mentioning to family about going to the range has people looking at me funny.

I was referred to here by a friend of mine and I have to say, I simply adore this place.

Benelli M1014

Howdy buck00, my M4 is one of the jewels of my collection. However, one of my friends is jealous because do to circumstances beyond his control he is not allowed to purchase firearms anymore. He says it shoots "too fast", therefor he is unimpressed. However, given the chance he would buy two of them. I changed out the restricted mag tube for a full-length one, now I am looking for night sights for it. Any suggestions?

I WILL get a moose

Hi...I'm Mike,,,recently ( last year ) retired and returned home to New Brunswick, Canada from Alberta....New Brunswick is big hunting country and since I have the time now, I decided to get involved. It's a good thing I have the time too....took about two months and about $300 just to obtain my PAL, which is a liscence you need in Canada to own a firearm...
There is a moose tag draw here every year and I hope to get one next season...Moose is the best meat ever...
One of the reasons I joined this forum was to see if anybody could give me information on a rifle I recently obtained, No manual came with it ,,,and the vendor and the manufacturer have been singularly unhelpful.
The rifle is an Australian International Arms M10 B1...a sporterized version of a beefed up and updated Lee Enfield...It's a lovely looking beast...weighs about 32 tons....but I DO like it...
My concern is that it's supposedly in NATO 7.62, although they advertise the thing as " 7362X51mm NATO ( .308 Winchester ) as though they were completely interchangeable....I took it to a supposed "gunsmith" and the action would not Quite close on a SAAMI Field reject guage....I'm probably being overcautious but I am still a bit concerned over firing commercial .308 in it....anybody got any info ?....anyway thanks...
