Old time target shooter
Hi, I'm new to this site although I've been reading the mail for a while. Very interesting information. I'm a retired printer and living in southern Wisconsin. I was on the state civilian service rifle team at Camp Perry twice. We were using the M1 Garand, one of my favorites (A club rifle...Teddy Kennedy took it away from me ). Also competed in the bolt division. My only claim to fame was winning my early morning relay in the Leach Cup (1000 yds., iron sights, no wind, no hardholders). Got creamed in the shootoff. I still have the bolt rifle based on a 1903 Springfield action. I have a 45/70 Marlin, a Model 120 Win. 12, a Remington 1100 12 (I've taken up trap shooting), an H&R .44 magnum rifle, .410 bolt, .22 Rem. single-shot, and my Dad's old Stevens 44/40 single-shot shotgun.
