I'm a new member and gun owner. I swore i never would own a handgun. Though in times we live in today SD is a must . So I was given a RG .22 , belonged to my mother , It was a wedding present from her dad...lol I thought that was funny as heck . I intend on purchasing another hand gun soon. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was thinking on .038 semi auto though not sure on what brand , hence open for suggestions there . Headed to gun range this weekend , I have a box of 500 rounds to mess with.

So if any one could reply I would be thankful.
I'll post again after my venture to gun range =)

Thanks ,
Hagas

Do you, by chance, mean 380 auto(9 short)? I like Walthers and some Berreta's in that cartridge. I've never owned a 380, though. Since you said you're open to other suggestion's, you might take a look at some Taurus Millenium Pro's in 9mm and .40S&W. I do own the .40 and I think it's one of the most comfortable piece's out there for only $299.99 and lifetime warranty(never used my warranty, yet:D). They also make it in .45ACP.

Hi, first post on THR. :)

I live in West Wales, UK and my hobby is shooting. Mainly rabbits and the occasional fox with 17HMR and 22LR.

Sometime this year I plan to move on to centrefire for longer range. :scrutiny:

Something about myself;

I am former US ARMY 11B, Current Deputy Sheriff Sgt, just out side Wash DC, I'm a firm supporter of the 2nd amendment ( NOT FOR THE MILITIA...this is a indiviual right!!!) Citizen.....your job is to be proficient with your firearm (if you are not one of the 61,000 Maryland (voters?) convicted felons) and to be available to Law Enforcement as needed. In my State (Maryland) you are required (by law) to assist a Law Enforcement Officer upon demand, to assist as requested (if refused you are guilty of a crime)

have guns for sale

Hi, I am not really a fan of guns. My Dad died recently and had a few rifles that we would like to get prices on if possible. And would like to sell. Could anyone tell me of a good site to get prices from?
He had a muzzle loader made by tingle manuf of Shelbyville IN.. It is a 50 caliber # 603. Also a double barrel black powder made by Van Watt & Son & Company.
A Marlin Golden 39-a, 22 caliber with scope, lever action, gold trigger.
A sears and Roebuck 22 caliber bolt action JC higgens. Model # 41DLA-10327522. If anyone can help me with the prices or a site that will give me prices I would appreciate it.
Thanks Reba48

Shooting Experience: 50' 22 target, 12 gauge clays

Current Firearms: Just a Mossberg 500 12g

Why did I join? Looking online for quite a while as I search for a good first handgun. Appreciated the worthwhile discussions, reasonable tone of the posts on this site!

Hello. Most of my shooting experience is with a single shot .22 as a kid. I have been slowly getting back into shooting over the past few years and my goal for this year is to make it to an Appleseed shoot. I have been reading posts here for a while and figured it was time to join. Thanks for having me.

Winston

So I am rude I guess.

Should have said hello a long time ago-sorry. My name is Dan and I am in the army up here in Alaska. I figured that when in rome... and bought a few guns.

I have posted a fair amount on this forum. Mostly questions as I am a new gun owner but I occasionally post some sarcastic (all in good fun though) replies to people who I feel are "asking for it."

I am also a "liberal" I suppose as I support unions, rebels, and honestly feel that what you do in your home is your business and no one else's as long as it affects no one but yourself. I also fear the men in charge and hate what my government does in my name at times.

Haha, well I love you guys at THR. This is the best, most helpful site on the web bar none.

new introducing myself

Hey im a new member as of today.. am interested in learning more about guns. I am more into handguns. I've posted a few times already and didn't even realize this thread was here. So howdy, everyone. I'm a tomboy, a grad student, a displaced Texan living in Florida (soon headed back to parts west), and a libertarian adrift in a sea of academia.

I decided that I needed to take more responsibility for my safety and bought a CZ P-01 a couple of months ago, and I'll probably have a CZ 452 for target shooting and a Kel Tec P3AT for CCW within a few months. I started reading this forum when I was thinking about buying a gun and learned a lot. I'm sure that'll continue in the future. Thanks everyone!

I am a Texan working in overseas as a Army contractor on a FOB. I have a CCL and a few to conceal. I have some classics and a couple blackrifles and thought i would join to keep up with firearm news and get some new ideas for customizing some of my favorites.:banghead:

New member here!

County Planner living in the mountians of NC, have some bolt action rifles and looking to buy a few more over time. Never thought of myself as a gun nut, though these days some think owning a guy makes you one. :neener:

Own a CZ 550 in 6.5 x 55 Swede, and a M44 Mosin Nagant Rifle, Looking at getting a more "Assult" rifle and a handgun in the next year or two (and perhaps faster depending on the election )
