New Member

Hello everyone. I love the shooting sports and have revolvers ,autos and rifles and lots of time to practice as a retired guy. Hope to learn a lot and share any info I have.

Hi there

I'm a 65 year old retired guy who has always owned guns. I am also a VietNam vet (and I live on a Bay, hence the name) and I still love the M-14. I have several modern rifles for hunting and I also own a 1960's Browning "Light 20" semi-auto shotgun that was my Dad's as well as a Remington .32 Caliber Model 8 semi-auto. I've had that rifle since I was 14 years old. I have my grandfather's old Iver-Johnson 16 ga. single barrelwith a ring in the trigger guard that un-breaches the 36 inch barrel. I'm not big on pistols, but I do own 3 or 4. I'm glad to be here and hope to learn as well as contribute. I live in the Florida panhandle.

Hello everyone, I decided to come back here. My husband has said he has gotten some good information here and I need to read it. I am glad he did tell me this. I have read some good stuff here and I will continue to do just that.

Greetings everyone!

NEw gun owner from houston, TX. I own a Yildiz 12 GA over under and a Remington 597 Yellow Jacket.

Very new to the hobby but enjoying it!

Greetings yall,
I've been shooting for a couple of years now and just recently have gotten into reloading my own bullets. That's how I found this page, searching for reloading information and checking out everyone else's bench setups, and there sure are some swell ones out there.

Hi, my name is Adam and I'm a new member here. I have been looking around in here and have found a lot of useful information so I thought I would join the site. A little about me. I love almost all outdoor sports and am I am trying to become a, competent gunsmith. I do fairly well but as in all things I will never stop learning and in no way think I know it all. I am always looking for advise from people with experience. My background is a AAS in Machine Tool and seven years of hobby gunsmithing with a retired gunsmith whom which I try to bother for knowledge on a regular basis. I just completed a class on metal finishes and bluing in Trinidad and was very impressed by the school. I plan to take a class every summer at Trinidad as long as they provide the NRA summer courses. I would recommend there classes to anyone interested in gunsmithing or hobby gunsmithing.

Another new guy here. I've been lurking for years, but finally decided to join.

Cut my shooting teeth on my father's Winchester single shot 22 fairly early in life, turned into a scattergunner in the early 60's, moved up to centerfire rifles in the late 60's, graduated to handloader in the early 70's, and now, somewhat late in life, I have become primarily a handgunner.

Can't figure out what phase comes next...:D

New member from Oregon

I subscribe to several other gun related forums, and several posters make reference to THR, so I decided to check it out and I like what I see.

I'm a US Navy veteran ('65-'69) and retired police detective ('71-'01). I've been a shooter and instructor my entire adult life, mostly hand guns, but during the past few years I've discovered rifles can be fun too.

I've been living in the Portland Oregon area for the past 28 years, married for 32 years, with two grown kids.

See ya around campus. :)

New from KY

Hi, I live in Lex.,Ky and enjoy this and a few other forums for advice and entertainment concerning guns and gun related. I'll start by trying to post a picture of my PA-63, which I CC. I've had my permit since May. It took about 8 weeks to get it approved and returned. The pa-63 I bought from Centerfire Systems, which is about 10 miles from the house. J&G has them cheaper, but by the time I paid shipping and transfer fee I was better off getting it at Centerfire Systems. I purchased a Wolf spring pack and replace the recoil spring and hammer spring with a 15# and 11# springs respectively. I tried the 9# hammer spring but it produced some light primer strikes. I was using Wolf ammo. Can anyone tell me if they use the 9# spring with any reliability? I also bought some Rosewood grips off Gunbroker.com. BIG IMPROVEMENT!!! I own several other guns. Thanks chasw PA-63 2 (Small).jpg

I was OK until I went to Dixie Consolidated Site

I have been looking at Ruger 1022 rifles.
Maybe because the ammo is so inexpensive.
Today I saw the Dixie Consolidated site, Oh Gosh, I love it! (LP-3)
Now What?

New guy...

Hey, everyone. My name is Jason and I live down in the central Florida area. I've come to THR on a recommendation that this was a good firearms forum. I look forward to learning and posting here! :)

A little about my shooting addiction...

I am most avidly a shotgun hunter and clay shooter. I am drawn most to sporting clay and some skeet now and again. I take part in all sorts of dove, duck and snipe hunts throughout their respective seasons. Most recently I have become interested in shooting longer range rifles (but only seriously now...I've been shooting rifles for about 10 years) and I am putting together a little .243 single shot right now for varmints with a proper bolt gun to come along in the future.

I also have a miriad of other guns including an AR-type 16" carbine rifle, a few pistols and a Marlin 880 .22LR and a Savage 93 .17HMR. I've got some other floating around here, too... :D

Hello from the middle of North Carolina. I haven't done much shooting since hurricane katrina killed my favorite range in Louisiana and relocated me here, but I'm working on changing that. :)

Welcome

Welcome Jason M!

You've definitely come to the right forum. ;)

For any questions you might have, give the search engine a whirl. There's a vast amount of knowledge stored in the THR database.

And also, just ask questions! there's bound to be someone around here who knows the answers.

Welcome Aboard! :D

Welcome Jason. THR is a very good place to be. If you have any questions feel free to ask. There are many experts here and many "experts in training".
There are two ways to learn, by experience (trial and error) or by asking questions. Asking is far safer that trial and error. Even after carrying professionally for 29 years I consider myself an "expert in training" because I learn something new (to me) most every day I am on here. To those experts willing to share their knowledge with me I would like to thank you for the help and hope that someday I can return the favor.

I am fairly new myself and you picked a good one to join. I also came to ask questions and learn rifles and handguns when I was just a shotgun guy. It's now great to read for fun, lurk a lot but post a little. See you around.

I found this forum by accident, but it was a great mistake. I read some of the threads and knew I had to sign up. I love the fact that most of the members are helpful and quite knowledgeable about everything going on in our country. Thank you for this venue.

Hi Everyone, I'm a new member from MIssouri and have enjoyed reading all the threads pertaining to our second amendment rights. My conceal carry permit should arrive in the mail any day now. I mailed the application to Utah 40 days ago. I'm looking for advise on choosing the right carry gun, I think I would like something with stopping power maybe 45ACP in a frame size easy to carry. Any thoughts out there about Taurus mellinum pro?. Or any other advise would be appriciated. Thanks.

Hey I just decided to join because I enjoy shooting. I came here from neardeathexperiments.com, its a great preparedness website that I am a member of. I have shot a .22 at Scout camp and hope to shoot a 12 guage this summer. I am in California, but I'm moving out to a free state after I finish junior college. Don't own guns because I haven't turned 18 yet and my parents are anti-gun.
