Hi all,

I live in Ohio and have used shotguns and rifles for hunting all my life (44 years) but just bought my first handgun in April of this year. Yes, it is the Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm and I must say I absolutely love this gun. I got my CCW license in May and have been carrying everywhere I go :).

There are two other guns on my list that I would like to buy when the funds become available: The Beretta 90-two in .40 cal and the CX4 Storm in 9mm. Yes, it seems as though I have the Beretta bug!

FL-newbie

Hi all;

I'd like to introduce myself.

I'm a Florida resident now transplanted fron New Jersey. I'm retired from the engineering drafting field & working now as a Florida security officer. I'm
hoping with this forum to learn about handguns. My only experience so far was in the military (USAF) using an M-16. I qualified expert.

Most of what I'm interested has to due with the weapons used by security
people working in Florida. Florida allows an armed officer to use either a 9mm
automatic or a .38/.357 revolver with .38 ammo. I hope to get some tips with that requirement.

New guy from NC

Hey all, noob here. :what:

lol...

Anywho... started shooting/hunting at age 9, tho haven't hunted in years. Gotten more or less "in to" & kinda out of shooting off & on over the years, tho I've always had a pistol around for GP, usually a .357 revolver.

Been itching to get my CCW for a while, while simultaneously jonezin' for a 1911. Well, just bought a 1911 (SA frame & slide, with Wilson everywhere else) & am about to start the CCW process.

Hmmm, what else. I'm also a guitarist & motorcyclist (shout out to the ZRXOA guys  ) & am about to retire from the Army in November.

So yeah, um, like, hey & stuff.

Welcome. We like fellow gun owners and thank you for your service in our armed forces. There is lots of great info, dialogue, and ideas here on THR.

The mods usually like you to do introductions in the sticky at the top of General Gun Discussions, just to give you a heads up.

Enjoy your CCW class, I always like to hear that more people are getting theirs.

See you around.

hello all

new member from nyc here. just put in for my handgun license, which unfortunately means it'll be about six months before i can actually buy one, and even then i can only take it out of my apartment to shoot at the range. but internet researching has been fun, and that's how i came across this forum. i've learned quite a bit already. if anyone's interested in the ridiculous and expensive process for getting a license in manhattan, maybe i'll do a writeup.

cheers.

I am a 52 year old male, former Marine, and a father. I grew up in Western Pa. where having a gun in thehome was the norm. I recieved a Savage 20gage/22 magnum on my 12th birthday, which I still own today. I have various handguns in my home, and I carry a CZ40B (CWP) every where I go. I love hunting and target shooting.

Hi everyone, been lurking and enjoying the forum.
Thought I'd join because I enjoy the discussions and all things firearms.:)

Checking in from NW Montana

Howdy.

Introducing oneself seems the thing to do.

58 year-old, married, gun-loving, political-activist male here.

I've been trying to pare down my gun collection to just some old fashioned shooters for hunting and fun.

Now I find I miss the automatics that I sold off - so I'm in the hunt for a 1911 of some form or another.

Be seeing you around, I guess...

;)

Hey all! I'm new here and to the gun world. My name's Matt, I'm 24, and I live in Lewisville (10 miles north of Dallas), TX. I kind of ventured into the gun thing on my own. My parents nor my girlfriend are interested in even shooting my gun. Everything I have learned about guns is from the internet and a few guns in gun shops. I've taught myself the basics. Picked up an FNP-9 and it's my first gun. I'm happy to be here, and I'm trying to soak up info like a sponge.

Hey I am new to the forum. I've shot about a half a dozen times. My boyfriend is exar on here. He has taught me everthing I know about shooting, but I hope to learn a lot more, and hopefully own some guns of my own someday. I really look up to exar, and like to think of myself as his apprentice :) I love that he is so passionate about THR, and he inspired me to join. I'd like to thank THR for this great forum. It's the perfect place for a newbie like me to get more information.

Hey all.
Long time lurker, finally reg'd awhile back, posted today.
Owned a bunch of rifles/shotguns, but they stay at my folks' farm. I wanted something for target/plinking so I bought my first handgun this week: Sig P6...and can't wait to get it to the range (after a thorough cleaning, of course).

Hi all! Been around guns all my life but only long guns. Primarily for getting dinner. So I'm new to pistols. Thats why I came here. I just took the CHL coarse and I'm waiting for my license to arrive. I'm in Arlington TX. The handguns I currently own are a .22 s/a revolver, a Browning Hi-Power 9mm and a Taurus PT111.

Greetings from a transplanted Texan

Surfed around till I found this site and decided to join so I could gleen some information from others and learn something new about reloading. Love to shoot, but haven't hunted in my 54 years. Most of my guns are han-me-downs (.22 Jet, .25 Beretta, 9mm XD, Winchester 30-30, Remington 12 ga) except for the .40 XD subcompact I CCW. Started reloading as the .22 Jet became too expensive to buy and it has become quite a fun hobby.
See ya round! Erik

Hello, new member from Italy here. I am 37, fairly new to guns. My first and only (for the moment!) firearm is a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow, chambered in 9x21 mm (for legal reasons, we can't use "normal" 9mm handguns in Italy). I also bought some reloading equipment and I try to hit the shooting range at least once a week.
Regards,
Goerz
