I stumbled onto this site while doing research on 50BMG rifles for long range matches. I haven't bought it yet, so if any of you have personal experience. I would be interested.

I shoot benchrest, skeet, trap, 5-stand, sporting clays, IPSC and IDPA as the opportunity presents itself. I got into reloading in the early 80s and now have about 6 or 7 presses.

I'm retired military and work in the semiconductor industry. A native Texan, I learned to shoot at 4 years of age, with a .22 Winchester pump gallery rifle that belonged to my grandfather. He passed away a few years ago and now that rifle resides in my gun safe. A few of my cousins were rather disappointed at that prospect.

Howdy!

I was reading through a thread about gun ownership in the US (or, more specifically, one Canadian ranting about how Americans don't need their guns; a baseball bat would do just as well for protection..yeah, right!) on another site, and later on into it, someone posted a link to this forum.

Now, I'm about as newbie to guns in general as a girl can get - never even held a real one. However, I've got a boyfriend that I love to bits that loves guns just as much (although maybe I'm ahead of them by a little.) He's slowly working me into them - I get to fire an airsoft gun to start off with. :p If I'm okay with those (I'm skittish! These things must be dealt with carefully) I'll try shooting my dad's .22 rifle.

We all live in...California, unfortunately, which has the most ridiculous gun control laws I've ever heard of. Once my boyfriend and I move to Nevada, I'll be getting a CCW. The world is getting too dangerous for just about anyone. Considering how messed up Cali is, I'd get one here - if I were 21 and it wasn't darn near impossible.

Whelp, that's it! Since I'm so uninformed about everything, I'll likely do more lurking then pestering everyone with questions.

Hello, My name is Justin, I'm from far northern CA. and I found this wonderful place while looking for a good shotgun to use while trapshooting after my buddy hooked me on it. I ended up decided on a used 870 wingmaster in great condition, and then shortly after my wife and me both wanted a pistol, so we bought a bersa thunder .380. I love the knowledge of this place, and really haven't needed to post, since I'm just sponging up the knowledge. Thanks everyone!

Hello From Tennessee

Hi. I've lurked for a while and joined today. I'm new to gun ownership. I bought my first firearm in March and now I have seven. Why is this?
:)

Newbie

Hello, my name is mary. I am 38 and I am rather uneducated about guns. I have been given guns by family members and would like to learn more about them. I know how to shoot a gun and I go deer hunting every year with my husband. (got a 10 point buck last year :D) I want to learn more about the guns i currently have and am looking to buy more. Anyway, hi and nice to meet evryone.

Me - you wanted to know.

My name is Walt. I live in Nevada. I prefer Western-style firearms (single-action pistols and lever-action rifles). My collection is mainly Ruger in content, but there's a few "knock-offs" in there. I do alot of reloading and should have bought stock in RCBS with all the carbide dies I've purchased over the years.
Currently, I'm in search of a Ruger 40 S & W cylinder for my Buckeye .38-40/10mm convertible. I'd appreciate any info on this topic I can get.
Feel free to email at [email protected].

My name is Jeannie, and I am 29 yrs old, married with four kids, the oldest is 10, the youngest is 3. I have always been interested in guns, but was never allowed to touch. I have finally given up beggin my hubby to take me with him. So, when my oldest daughter(10) said she wanted to start hunting, I said a'ight lets go. I am trying to get an all womens hunting group togethor. I need a good beginner deer gun for myself and my daughter, and I need some suggestions. Any help would be great. I also would like to know can you hunt deer with a shotgun? If so what would be the best to look for? Thanks, I am looking forward to the new advice. :D

Hello everyone,
I just joined yesterday:D I have been a lurker for a while. I lvoe the site and hope that I can contribute to the conversation and knowldge of the site. I am 24 and live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I love just about anything firearm related and grew up around them my entire life. Look forward to posting with everyone here!!

I joined a couple of weeks ago after finding this site when I did a Google search for some information. After I found the information I was looking for, I recognized the site as one I have visited a few times before (also through Google searches). I've been a reloader since 1982, using primarily RCBS products.

century made polish tantal

Hi i looked into a lot of these sites when I bought my ak-74 and this one seemed to have the most intellegent, experience based conversation going on so I thought I would join because I have questions and believe I have found a new passion: guns. Anway, I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not you could change out the top fore grip on my tantal. Its century arms but shoots great. I dont like the wire east german stock so I opted for a Bulgarian blonde wood stock, hoping for some additional stability, the wire stock being wobbly. Also, the fore grip tended to get hot ( I put about 500 round through it yesterday) and was hoping the wood would absorb more heat. Plus, I wanted a more traditional look. One of the things that appeals to me about these rifles are their history. So, anyone out there know whether or not I can change out that grip? Thanks,
Owen.

Intro

Just saying hey, and introducing myself.

I've been a member on TFL and have heard about this site quite a bit.

I live in an Alaskan bush village on a tributary of the Mighty Yukon R. I hunt, fish, relaod, C&R (a few Enfields and a Garand), work and raise kids.:)

I recently got an extremely nice 30-06 Garand from the "Garand Guy". I would like to hunt with it and have replaced the gas cylinder lock screw with a Shuster Adjustable Gas Plug to shoot commercial ammo and reloads. I'm working up loads with Varget and 180gr Sierra Game King bullets. I haven't really done any searches on this site yet, so;

Anyone have any big game loads for the Garand?

Can't help on the loads, with an adjustable valve on it, so I won't say anything more than Welcome!

I've got some guesswork on the valve situation, but I hate guesswork on these forums.
