Hi from Italy....

First of all i m 46 years old and the only firearm i used was a Garand M1 ! a 8 rounds clip during military training and stop ! year 1982...
never shot other again....
3 weeks ago....i went into the only serious armory shop here in Trieste ( ITALY) , only to seeing carbines longow etc....not intentions at all to buy anything.....
I saw something particular ....
I play Call of Duty 2 online from the beginning and I like play as american side cos i can use a Garand...eheheheh
But my second chance is the M1 a1....i like it very much !
Under a glass....between other long rifles....i see a little thing....
Mmmmh....it s an M1 a1....
Remember u.....never used any rifle from 1982
I like weapons ww2 but Italy is not USA.....
Restriction about possessing firearms of any kind is complicated.....
I knew the original was .0.30 but in Italy is a war rifle no t possible...
The seller say me it s a 0.22 M1 replica was in a collectors house...bought years years ago....
Finally.....i see it....i like it....in a minute i give a % of total he ask me.....
At the end, a simply little rifle less 1 mt lenght....
But an m1 replica into 0.22.....
I m curious...the day after the seller tell me is marked erma......this tell me obviously nothing.....
I discover your site and ...........i start wondering.....
The m1 is like just out a factory !
The wood is perfect.....it shines....
The metal is...like new....
The seller tell me never shoot.....
I thought it was recent !
Finally it s marked '66....wow....i was born in '62 !
Training military purpose.....only marked 66 67 68 69...all others M1 around the entire world are the same...but commercial !

My grandparents on my mother's side are from northern Italy, which is the reason why I'm bi-lingual. Well, I learned North American English, through my surroundings and in school. My dad spoke English to us, of course. But, children always speak the mother's language to each other and usually to both parents. My dad met my mother, during the 2nd world war, and brought her to America. So, that makes 3 languages. I've been keeping up my German. But, my Italian doesn't get better, when not in use.
My grandfather had a rifle and a pistol. He fought on the wrong side, during World War 1. So, perhaps that might have something to do with owning either 1 or both of those guns. His kids found the loaded pistol and one of the twins started playing with it. The gun went off and he was a hair away from scoring his twin sister's head. The kids got together and hung a painting over the bullet hole in the wall. My grandmother died at an old age without ever finding out. She never even looked behind the painting.
How difficult is it to buy a firearm in Italy for export? And, is it worth going through all the paperwork to obtain a handgun legally?

Hello all and thankyou for hosting such a great forum. my name is Galen and im from Wash state.

This forum attracted me for a number of reasons. mostly im excited to see the level of respect members seem to have even while in heated debate. also the amount of useful information here is staggering.

I am 22 and just recently started purchasing my own guns. I recieved my CPL this year and sometimes carry a Kimber Pro Carry 2 if i feel the situation warrants it.

anyways im excited to dive into all thats here. THR and its cause has gained another ally.

Career military and into all kinds of guns. Looking to add a Springfield M1 to my collection but not sure what kind. Looking at everything from the SOCOM II to the Loaded version with Rails. Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi my name is Dan, I am in The USCG I love guns I plan to collect forever. I have .30-06 mossberg ATR w/ a 4-16 x 50 Centerpoint scope which actually turned out to be pretty nice. Along with a Rock Mount bipod. A Mossberg 500a special w/ Ar-15 stock and a heat shield. Kel-Tec sub-2000 (.40). Walther P-22, Kel-tec P11 (9mm). Looking for an AR-15 thats about all.

new Guy here from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

As someone said above me, I was referenced here many times while Googling certaint hings. I too liked what I saw and figured I'd join up!

Im very big into all shooting sports, as well as Concealed Carry for personal protection.

My father has been apolice officer since I was a kid in the state of California, so I was started off with firearms at a very young age. As Ive grown and come of age to purchase my own firearms, my collection has started its "growth spurt".

In regards to my firearms I currently own,

And to date, have finished my PT, Oral Board, Back ground and am doing my Poly graph within the next week to become a Police Officer at one of my local agencies. Its been a dream of mine to become a Peace Officer,and I have groomed my life around that career choice.

New to the forum

I don't think I'm the average gun owner. I'm a former Marine current liberaterian and basically an agnostict leaning toward atheism person. I love the United States of America not because of what it is but what it has the potential to be.

I will recite the Pledge of Alligence, sing the Marine Corps hymn and burn anyone down that messes with my rights and my freedom. I do these things out of respect for my country my background and my family.

This is just to introduce myself to this forum. I will talk shop all day and these other things shouldn't matter. I am just airing them now so I won't have to air them later.

The bottom line is that I am a gun person and I want to talk gun not politics or religion. So let's talk gun. :evil::evil::evil::evil:

Hi All:

Comming to you from the wilds of north eastern Massachusetts. New member on this forum, but am a member on others. Basically interested in black powder, have built a Hawken in 60 cal. from a "kit" or parts list, have build a kentucky pistol from a blank stock and an old Ultra Hi (Japanese Pistol) and I just purchased a Walker revolver.

This site has better bp revolver threads, so I joined. And yes, the Walker is a different animal.:what: Loads of fun.
 
hi all im Kronnkk,from idaho love amost all guns ,10/22 is my favorite and got a couple of bolts ,and suprisingly started getting mor lever guns i didnt realy like them till i traded for my first marlin,and now im up to 3 if ya include my sav 99,any way still hard to beat any 22 :)

Hey all, new guy coming in from Alaska! Currently a student but plan to head down to Seattle to join King County Sheriffs. A member of the Alaska State Defense Force and joining our brand new Army ROTC program in Jan. in addition to the Army Guard (Officer Cadet/MOS HUMINT Collector).

Currently owning a SA xD .45 ACP, Ruger 10/22 and a basic 4-10. Planning on expanding that with a Mosin-Nagant and a Model 36 (nickel plated, as soon as I find one) soon. Also looking to get a CZ at some point.

And due to an injury in Iraq I will be getting out at eight. I am looking toward the NC State Troopers. I love guns, and the shooting sports. I am a CCW member in NC.

This is my very first post.

I learned about this site from a member at FFCobra.com (a website for builders of Factory Five Racing Cobras - replicas of the 1965 Shelby Cobra).

I live in Massachusetts and got a LTC permit along with my son, who is attending a military college and plans on a military career. We took a mandatory safety course and I really enjoyed target shooting. With my Cobra off the road in the winter, I need a cold weather hobby!

I'm in the investment business and am in my 50's and live outside Boston.

I have a LTC but don't forsee carrying a weapon.

I'm brand new to guns and shooting so I'm here to learn and really look forward to reading everything here.
 
This is my second post with my first being my seemingly common Glock 19 problems.

I found this place by doing research on what I wanted in my first firearm which ended up a Mossberg 500a Tactical Persuader. 20 inch barrel, heat-shield, and a silly pistol grip which I quickly swapped out for a Knoxx Spec Ops stock that is pretty much incredible.

My newest purchase is a faulty Glock 19 that is going back to the place I bought it from. You can check my profile and find the post where I tell the story. Ugh.

So yeah, I was terrified of guns and frankly nervous about gun owners. I wanted to get over that fear and educate myself and here I am.

Today I went out in the woods plinking by myself, tried out all the different shotgun loads like slugs, 00 buck, 5 shot, 8 shot, just to see how it was different. Great fun!

In the future, my next purchase will be a FN 5.7x28mm handgun, maybe an AR-15, and a Remington 700. Before I get too ahead of myself, I'll be taking some basic classes on safety, defensive shotgun, and I'll be looking to obtain my CCW here in beautiful Oregon.

I'll be shutting up now. I'm just enthused is all!

I found this forum searching the internet, after I purchased my first hand gun.

I had been to the gun range a few times with my son and just rented different revolvers, to see which ones a would like. I pretty much decided on a revolver because it would be easy to clean and less chance of jamming than an automatic pistol. Also, you can tell instantly, if it is loaded or not.

After firing a .357 magnum with a 6" barrel, I knew I wouldn't need to rent anymore guns. Looked at some of the new models, but the prices were too high. So next I went on line and browsed the various gun auctions, searching for a used revolver in better than average condition.

Then, one day, on "Gunbrokers" website I found what I was looking for, a Smith and Wesson model 686-4PP. Six shot, .357 magnum with a 6" ported barrel. After the next visit to the gun range and 100 rounds later, I knew that I had made the right choice.

My name is Tom Nichols. I just discovered this forum. I have two handguns, a Ruger P89D Semi-Automatic 9mm and a Ruger GP100 357 Magnum Revolver. I also have a Ruger Mini-14 Rifle. I enjoy days at the Rod & Gun Club putting holes in paper targets. I recently completed a handgun safety course which is certified for having the restrictions removed from my NY State handgun permit. I should be hearing back real soon. A friend in my class has already had his restrictions removed as have a number of other people who took this class. concentrate on commonwealth and US from roughly the emergence of smokeless to today , emphasis on the C&Rs , and on modern 22s to a minor degree ,
