Greetings, All

I have recently begun to exhibit symptoms of BRD, even though I've never owned a centerfire rifle. I've come here to learn about ARs and keep up on various RKBA discussions. Maybe I'll find an AR someday soon if prices and inventories make a bit more sense again...but with this unknown political climate, who knows. :(

Hey Folks.

Dunno if I'm properly speaking a new member or not--I was around these parts a few years back when I was in the grips of a full fledged gun mania. Then I got tired of having to haul everything out to Clermont County, and went in the other direction. Now I'm trying to tread a middle road. :D

I notice the buying/selling forums seem to've disappeared, though. Where would a fellow go to ask about the 9mm barrels for a CZ-52? The local commercial range prohibits necked down pistol ammo other than .357 Sig. I'm not necessarily looking for to buy one from a member (though that's an option), but just wondering what happened to them. Google searches reveal little.

Hi everybody! I've been browsing this site for some time; figured I'd join up so I could throw my two cents in periodically.

Retired jarhead, NRA member, gun owner. :D

New from SC

Found this place through DC.com. I see some familiar faces as well.

I own and operate a Heating and Air Conditioning business. My wife works for a large specialty alloys company. We have boith completed the CWP course and are waiting for permits to be sent to us.

Great to be here.

Yep, this site is great. I teach college and am trying to get some of my more...shall we say...liberal-minded colleagues out blasting. My interest is primarily handguns but I'm thinking about getting into trap and skeet shooting...should be fun.

New to the forum, referred by a friend that tells me this is the best gun forum on the internet. Looking forward to hanging with you all.

Well, I've always just been into functional guns but with the looming changes of the new administration. I'm planning on stocking up on every black gun I can before its to late then I'll get back to functional and C&R stuff. I'm gonna have a lot of questions so thanks in advance. -J

Recently joined. I want to say hello to everyone, I am learning a great deal from this site, and want to express my appreciation to all for making it a lively and informative resource.

Hi. I do a bit of reloading using a Dillon XL650. I have some surplus powder on hand and want to put it to good use. Right now I need info on AL-8. I started loading it in 45ACP a couple years ago and it worked just fine but this time it dosen't have the power it had then. I was told recently that AL-8 was not good for 45acp and that it would be good for mag loads. This is the reverse of what I was told when I bought the powder some time back. Does any one know if a book exists and where to find it for data on not only AL-8 but the other military powders as well? What I need is a powder can be loaded using this or that data from commercial powders like hodgdon Win. etc.

Checking In

Hi!

I'm new here and just wanted to check in.

I found the place looking up info on shotguns. I'm mostly into sporting guns. Doubles, drillings and the like. No, I don't own a drilling yet, but I'm working on that. I also have an Ak, an M700HB and others.

I'm lucky enough to live in VA, but I'm still looking for/debating about joining a gun club.

My current project gun is a Stoeger Coach Gun that I've added Marbles sights to for shooting slugs. Which it does quite well to 50 meters. Much better than I expected actually. Its nicknamed "Thumper" and it does.

Newbie here. I only own one handgun at this time (A Ruger GP100 .357 magnum in stainless). Anyway, I'm interested in finding a gravel pit or some other legal spot in my area (Portland, OR.) where I can plink / practice / target shoot without having to sign up / pay for a gun club or established range. I'm also looking at picking up a semi-auto in .45 ACP very soon. Through my work, I can get a vendor discounted price on any new Taurus. It's not the brand I'd usually be looking at; but, I just can't resist the pricing I can get. I've pretty much nailed my selection down to the new model 845, which is loosely based on the 24/7 OSS .45 ACP. I'd prefer a Kimber 1911, but I can't afford the clams for one of those beauties. Any ideas on plinking spots? As for other interests, I'm a long time guitar player, so I enjoy playing and recording with my electric guitars, and I miss shooting. I used to belong to an indoor range, and looking to get out there and dust off my .357. If I grab that Taurus 845, I will be spending a lot of time on determining just how reliable the action is, and nailing down a good JHP round that will feed reliably. I suppose I could find a gunsmith to polish up the ramp if needed to help it along. I've read mixed reviews on the Taurus pistols in general.

Aloha! Present and accounted for! Black Rifle and hi-cap pistol afficionado. I also like to hunt long range style. ( 7mm Rem. Mag )

New member - Jolly Panda

Hi All!

I'm a new member here - I like this forum very much! Very helpful for my first question I had on silencers - very knowledgeable people.

I only have two handguns - a glock 26 and a SW 686 - seven shooter:evil:

I guess my real concern is with the new administration and the hurdles it will put us through if and when they try to impose gun control laws . . .
Well, I try the best I can to help the NRA in their efforts - especially now.

I have two young boys who will learn all about gun safety when they get old enough - I will not keep my guns a mystery to them.

Cheers! :)

New old guy from North Carolina

Hi gents. Brand new member.

About me? Are ya sure ya want to know? Ok then, you asked for it.

My site name comes from one of my hobbies and my last name. See I warned ya.

I've been into firearms since the late 50's and have been reloading for the past 3 years. I load .223, 7.62x39, .38 spl, .357, 40 S&W, 9mm Lugar, .45 ACP and .380 CP. I have 6 pistol/revolvers, 9 rifles and 3 scatter guns.

I'm an engineer for one of the top oil filter manufacturers in the world. And I live just west of Charlotte NC.

So having bored ya to tears I'll go forth and peruse this forum taking much away with me and leaving some behind.

Hi, I recently pulled my head out of the sand and realized I should exercise my Constitutional Rights.

So as a Late entrant to this excellent "Sport" I started with a Daly 12 gauge Field Tactical Pump Shotgun (HD), and have quickly caught the bug!

Now in wait for my AK-103 & Imbal Fal .308 Terrible affliction, still want more EBRs and have not even started on the Pistol Selection yet!

This is my first Gun Forum registration and as a constant lurker, Decided it is time before SHTF.

Kindest Regards,
John

New guy from NC. My interest in firearms began in the USMC 20 some odd years ago. I am a big fan of the 357 in revolvers and lever guns. Recently just make the jump to a M1A Scout and after some adjustmetns and several hundred rounds, I am finally getting used to it.

I shoot for the fun of it, self defense and to be prepared.

I am a student at UNC Chapel Hill for medical school. Its pretty liberal around here, and with the recent elections, I decided it was time to get my CCW. My girlfriend and I are both taking the safety class in January, and then applying shortly after for our permits.

My grandfather started teaching me to shoot pistols around age 14. I got to college, and most of my friends were Army ROTC guys, so we did a lot of shooting. When I came to med school, met some guys that were into skeet, so my grandfather gave me a 65 year old 20 gauge Remington Model 48. I bought my own thrower, and we shoot pretty regularly.

My other grandfather was a wildlife enforcement officer in WNC, and when he passed away 3 years ago, he gave his .357 revolvers to my brother and I.

I registered to have more access to activism for Firearms owners, and to stay up-to-date on gun laws and CCW laws. I like taking my first-time shooter friends out with me, and change their perspectives on firearms. It started with my girlfriend, and now she's looking at concealed carry guns to buy.
