Late Intro

Hey people, I'm new and I own a new AR-15. Its sweet. I design stuff as a hobby and I'm working on a possible new assault rifle for the military. A soldier-proof, user-friendly one. If you have any suggestions PM me. Thanks

Newbe from Cajun Land

Good Morning.... While searching for parts and pieces needed to refurbish several firearms damaged by fire I ran accross THR. Seemed like a great site, offering a lot of information and most important, in these days, a site that speaks to and for our 2nd amendment interest. I'm 62 yrs young, raised in the pinywoods of north east Texas and transplanted to South Louisiana. My heiritage like many was mapped by the tradition of owning firearms. My father, now "90", still owns and uses his firearms. He gave me a Winchester 22 for my 6th birthday and was diligent in teaching me safe handling and use. He has since passed down at least one gun to his (4) great-grand sons. They too are being taught the value and responsibility of firearm ownership.

This may not be the forum to mention this but.... We lost our home to a fire in 2007 along with all the contents. Yes; several guns were involved. They were recoved from the rubble the day after, cleaned as best we could and soaked in protective oils until time allowed me start repairs. All are completed with the exception of my dad's 12 ga. Charles Daly Superior II. The gun is a FIAS Sabatti piece. The butt stock and forend were beyond repair and I cannont locate a Stock set for this gun. I have called KIB parts and service, provided a number to call, no luck....searched the websites etc....no luck.
If anyone has any information where I can find a stock for this keep sake please let me know. Much, Much appreciated.

Anyway...I'm looking forward and Thanx

Dan

Hi, I'm a new member from Georgia. I'm a computer guy, and have recently purchased a couple of guns and started shooting again after a hiatus of 10+ years.

New here as well. Found this site while researching safes. My other half says the "long" toys have to stay in someone else's safe until I get my own...

Maverick223

Hi, been visiting for a while now, decided to finally join...I am a EIT at Sutton Kennerly & Associates, in Charlotte N.C. My hobbies are shooting (big shock I know), hunting, hiking, building computers, welding/fabricating, etc... My current collection of "toys" include a Ruger 10/22, Stevens .22 (24" barrel model), Browning A-Bolt 270WSM, Bushmaster M17, HK USP-45, Walther P22, and a new Saiga S12 Shotgun (my first scatergun). Thanks for inviting me into the clan; Kelly.:D

Lurked off and on for awhile. Finally joined up. My interests in guns runs the gamut, and am fortunate to hang with people who can afford to indulge in collecting...

But with each passing day, and my revelations after becoming a father, I become more interested in the fight for the Second Amendment. I want my kid to enjoy what I enjoy, while ensuring her safety as best I can.

Hi guys; I'm from Upstate New York, been a full time college student for the last five months and I'm finally on break for over a month—thought it would be a good time to look around for a rifle (winter plinking is the best).

I've been reading the forum for the last few weeks now, and just registered today. Turned 18 last February—I've put off buying a rifle for too long. Leaning toward a Marlin 39A at the moment. I'm just here to do some research before I join the ranks.

Great forum, see you around.

Ironjarhead here. I am a former marine turned ironworker. I own a mossberg 590, two taurus automatics,a model 66 smith, and to many rifles to list. I am new to this internet stuff but really enjoy anything weapons orienated. You guys seem to have the best site around.

Thanks

Everyone in this thread has really low post counts :D

I feel like I have the mike at a wedding.

I'm not not a fudd. Let's get THAT out of the way.

I carry in my pocket. I'm not a holster guy.

Greetings from Michigan

I'm a member on both the Ruger forums, MI gun owners, and a couple of other hunting and shooting forums. I just stumbled upon your fine site, and it looks like a great place to learn new stuff!!

The only thing we have currently is a .22 lever action Marlin. But yeah, i figured this would be a great place to figure out what i want to buy.

Advance and be recognized!

Hail to thee!

New here, but an old hand at another forum. Too many psychos over there and sick of the . . . effluvia of male bovine, let us say.

They called my brother Elvis "The Pelvis" . . .

Hello everyone, new member here. My wife and I each have a Para carry 45, Smith and Wesson 1911, Mossberg 500 with Knox stock, and a Garand. There is a Ruger mark 2 and some 22 bolt rifles as well. I have learned a lot here already lurking and also realized how much more there is to know.

Greetings

I am new to The HighRoad and mostly just want to get as much info as I can glean from all of you. Thanks in advance.

Long time shooter not just a gun owner

Hi
I have been actively shooting for at least 50 years. I bought my first pistol at the age of 15 (when it was legal) My father gave me a 1911 gold cup NM for my HS graduation present. I have gone thourgh many ups and downs and am currently way down. I have an american made Mosin Nagant that was sporterized, and a Glock 36 for carry. I am also into black powder. I have two rifles, one is an underhammer that I assembled and a revolver. At one time about 4 years ago I had a collection of over 30 rifles -- but that was three unemployment times and a surgery ago.

Hello THR, guess I should formally introduce myself; My name's Chad, I'm 19 years old and came from a very pro-gun family. I was taught from a very young age how to safely handle and use firearms by my dad--I have purchased two guns within the last year, a Remington 870 tactical (18" barrel, synthetic) and a DPMS AR-15.

There's a lot of good information and experience on here, I'm already learning a lot!

-Chad

Edit: here's a picture of my little family.

Here I am, finally on THR! Looking forward to some good gun discussions and whatnot.

Lil bit about me. I live in St Paul, Minnesota. I've been shooting for a number of years but I'm still not terribly great or anything. Other than guns I dig computers and fixing things that everyone else gives up on.

Hello High Roaders

Found THR a while ago, I enjoy the posts enough that I've made it into an almost daily habit. So to introduce myself, 52 year old tradesman living in Maryland. Found firearms thru high school friend in LEO family. Shoot, reload, think about hunting. Revolvers, pistols and shotgun in the stable. I will try to not keep the grammer and spelling police too busy nor flog the dead horses.
