Hi, new member. Come from a family of cops, got a degree in Police Science, but didnt go into the job market. I love police weapons. Usually sidearms and tactical weapons. Dont hunt, but the inlaws do, this being Wisconsin...

Trying to get my gun collection back up after having to get rid of it when my first child was born.

Just joined.

Hi I have been lurking for a few days and just joined. I'm interested in rifles, shotguns and handguns. Recently became very interested in personal, home, and work (I'm self-employeed) defense. I may pursue my CCW license, not sure as it may just give another way to trace gun owners. I enjoy hunting deer, quail, and pheasant. Former ARNG. Married 20 yrs with 4 kids. NRA life member

Joined back in 07 but have just become active again after resurrecting my hand loading equipment. Have always loved guns since my first .22 Winchester 68. Have accumulated a fair number of rifles and hand guns in my 79 years. Use to find them at garage sales even. Picked up a beautiful Weatherby 22 semi-auto a few years ago, encrusted with closet crud but cleaned up nicely. Divocees at work who wanted to get that awful gun out of the house were another good source when they found out I was a gun nut.

Lots of good information here for anyone new in hand loading or a bit rusty like I am. I don't do much shooting anymore but the shortage of ammunition and the situation we find the country in got me started again, at least putting in a good supply of ammo. Good for bartering if and when TSHTF.

Radio Control model planes are my other vice.

Hello everyone,I am new to this forum, and I'm hoping that the people on this site are not as crass and fickle as the ones on several other forums that I was a member on. I have some very strong opinions about some matters, and there is always someone who will adamantly disagree with me. I have no problem with that as long as they are respectful when they do;resorting to third grade name calling and making snap judgements is something I can do without. I hope to make friends here and enjoy myself.

Howdy - new to the forum.

After 11 years of a very slow sale to the wife, the economic and political climate finally convinced her we should arm ourselves so last Jan, I picked up my first handgun. I was very into firearms as a child / early teen and grew up shooting a single shot .22 with my dad any weekend we could.

I joined the forum because although I'm not an activist nor a Republican or Democrat, I'm very interested in the politics of the day and seem to have a different perspective than many on some common topics.

Looking forward to participating!

Hi there,
New to the forum, looking forward to learning from other people's experience.
I enjoy hunting and target shooting for fun. Currently own a few guns, but I am hoping to add to my small collection over the years to come.

Howdy Fella Guncranks,

My name is MW and my handle is ColtDoctor. I am the desendant of Texas Ranger Major John Samual Shropshire. (and later of the Texas Mounted Rifle Volunteers - I am looking for his Ivory stocked brace of '51 Navies if anyone has any ideas) My Father was a Pinkerton and I grew up shooting everything under the sun at rendezvous. I enjoy hunting birds, and big game in Eastern Washington. (especially black powder) Collecting Colts is a passion of mine. I have penned a few articles on Colts and hunting in my day and have a few more coming. I have been working on a Colt book since 1999 and will continue to do so until I am satisfied I have something worth printing. Nice to join yer forum pards!

Shoot Straight,

Hi,

I'm new to the forum

I used to shoot a lot of skeet, until most of my friends either migrated over to trap and / or other areas of interest. I did own a nice shooting trap gun, but I just never had as much fun shooting trap as I did shooting skeet. Reflecting back, I think that I enjoyed skeet more, because of the social aspect of being able to converse with the other shooters while we were moving from station to station... And, in many instances, while we were actually on a station.

Anyway, over the past few months, I have found myself thinking more and more about getting out and shooting skeet again, although 1/2 of the skeet ranges that I used to shoot at are no longer in existence.

Who is apexcnc?

Hello everyone, a couple of us have been around the board for a while and now we want to share a new venture we are undertaking. please take a look at what we have to offer. New products will be offered as they become available, such as accessory rails for the handguard which will be finished next week. As you can tell, we also offer complete Machine shop services, so give us a call next time you need quality machining services. We don't want to be "those guys" here for advertising, but contributing, knowledgeable members of the community so feel free to ask questions and of course throw comments our way. We don't claim to know all, but we do make things for a living and might have some useful input. Thanks for the great board, The Apex Team.

Hello

Hi, I joined this forum last weekend. The first time I went shooting I was 8 years old, and I have been prety much hooked ever since. I love everything firearms related, from antique black powder guns, to the latest military fare. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the 1911 style, but there are to many others to list. I learned gunsmithing two years ago from a correspondence course, and hopefully I can start a business in a year when I am 21. I look foward to meeting all of you!

Still in the CCW application process, and still waiting to hear from the judge for my "interview" to see if I am worthy. Yep, you heard it right. Welcome to NYS. It's been 2 months, and I was told it would take 3-6 months. A basic handgun safety class is mandatory and must be taken prior to seeing the judge. I don't have a problem with that, although I previously trained and was a pistol expert with a M1911 .45 in the Marines (many moons ago).

I've been researching to see what my first handgun would be and I've decided on a Ruger SP101 .357 but I am not sure if I want the 2" or 3" barrel. The 2" is obviously better for concealment but my gut is telling me that the 3" will be more accurate and give the round more velocity/impact on the target, but at the price of being slightly harder to conceal. I would be interested in feedback on this from any seasoned SP101 owners.

New Member

I am a new member. I am retired and have been a sporting goods buyer for a chain of 26 stores. I purchased, among other things, guns and ammunition to the tune of about 25,000,000.00 annually. I finally retired as a manufacturer's rep. My hobbies include guns and golf. I'm looking forward to this site.

Hello.
I am DesertMarine from New Mexico
I am an old Marine grunt from the early 60's. I am a shooter, reloader, gunsmith wanabe with my other love, my horses. I have been shooting all my life and competed in Police combat, PPC. Don't compete anymore. I like the 1911, the evil black rifle, M1 garands, Ruger #1, bolt rifles and S&W revolvers. My favorite bolt rifles are the #1, Sako and Rem 700/721. Haven't gotten into plastic pistols.
Horses, I have an Azteca gelding and quarterhorse gelding.

Do some hunting, with my state going to lottery system, hard to get licences, so that is limited. Big game, hunt mule deer and elk. We have very few whitetail deer. Hunt dove and rabbits. Good part is that we have a lot of public land, so we have access to a lot of land without paying thru the nose.

Like to learn and share knowledge.

I'm new here but I've been around other forums for a long time. I'm from the Sunny South and fit the typical "Republican" profile. I am an avid Fisherman, Sheepdog, Mentor, Provider, Computer Engineer, Plumber, Auto Mechanic, Handyman, Gardener, Small Game hunter, etc.

And another swiss guy...

Hello all...

I'm a swiss gun collector and shooter, living in the french speaking part of Switzerland and working as night watchman in refugees centers.
I knew this forum by some friends on a swiss forum named "Feu Libre" and... here I am :) (Hi Shung, Snake & Molon, nice to meet you on "this side of the Atlantic Ocean" :p)

Except the guns, I like motorcycles (every motorcycle) and american cars : I am the happy (and ruined) owner of an old Kawa GPZ 900 R "Ninja" of 1984 and a Pontiac Firebird Transam of 1979 (what a nice car, but unfortunately very expensive to drive in Switzerland :scrutiny:)

So, next step : I have to go to "Foreign Gun Owners" thread and put some pictures of my little family, maybe still this night, or next week.

"See you soon"

Weapons owned,

Maverick Arms Modell 88 (8 shot) Home Defense
Ruger 10/22 Blue/Black Syn Combo

I live in Chicago where our A**Hole mayor (back when he was state's attorney) passed a ban on registering handgun's in the city. Except every gang-banger, scumbag thug has one and they quite often use them..........
But, me the law abiding, responsible citizen........... Sorry can't have one. I'm a firm believer that most gun laws only help to keep weapons out of the hands of the responsible enthusiasts/sportsmen/collectors !!

I don't want to sound like some sociopath, mental patient with my rants and raves so that's all for now.

New member from the Netherlands

Hello everyone,

I am a Dutch collector of antique American firearms. I am very interested in weapons made by W.W. Marston and his history. So if there is someone, who can help me, plse mail me.

You can find my collection on my site www.antiquefirearms.nl

regards,

Dirk L.

I'm Jerry, am interested in home defense and being able to hit what I aim at. I go to the range enough so I can hit the black at 25yds with either 9mm Ruger P85 MKII, Llama Comanche 357 Mag. 4", Remington 870 18" 12 Ga., Winchester 94 30.30. I very much appreciate this site and the information it has. After a bit of sorting I have learned a lot, even for an 65 year old truck driver. Thanks
