Hello.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea, but after long time lurking, i registered.

I just love old, antique firearms with plenty of thing to say. the story of a friend's father, a kaiser's contract with Mauser, the hands of a young belgian gunsmith, a russian winter in Stalingrad...

I just like to dream ^^ good or bad dreams.

I'm from France, Brest, excuse my poor english.

Hey, I'm Steve.

I'm from the great Tampa Bay area here in hot/humid/rainy/sometimes sunny Florida :)

Basically I'm here because I've been interested in guns most my life. I'm mostly trained in rifle shooting (last time I shot was as a teenager, I'm going to be 30 in a few weeks)...and well, it's about time I learn some pistol shooting. Eventually (eventually being whenever I can shoot accurately at 65ft) I may look into a CCL.

So pardon the dumb questions. Cheers!

Hello from N. Mississippi

Actually North Central MS. I just wanted to say Hey to everyone. I am ex Army (3rd AD 5/18 Inf). I like Mil-Surp firearms, and Handguns. I've been collecting for nearly 20 years. I don't have anything rare, just a modest collection.

Hello to all

I am new to this just found it an read several post an found it to be a informative site .. not the usual bunch of mall ninjas on the run from their imaginary evil enemies/zombies !! Lol . About me .. lets see i am ex - USMC 2 batt 2 div recon . I am a long time gun/CCw holder an practical pistol shooter for several years until a accident (car) put an end to that . My Great uncle was a independent custom rifle builder (he loved long range precision shooting/ Korean War Veteran) an a military trained armorer so yeah you guessed a die hard 1911 smith/ shooter/all around freak for Browning designs . so yes i was blessed to grow up an hunt /shoot / learn gunsmithing from a long time very experienced individual . I hope that i can be of some use in helping to shed some light on a few things an learn several new things myself !!

For the new member (Student of History) above me go ahead an make that switch to Sig Sauer . You will not be disappointed with it in anyway . I have owned several over the years an everyone of them were excellent weapons !! Personally i carry a p220 sig with 185 jhp remington golden sabers +p+ . you will be amazed at the reliability an accuracy

Hey all,

I am in the Great gun restrictive state of California. :)

In about 10 months I will be old enough to buy my handgun (Glock, not sure what model yet) so until then I have fun with my good 'ol Ruger 1022.

Long time lurker, first time poster

I'm a 32 year old in Washington state... I seem to find myself browsing the threads on here anytime I have a question about something so I thought I'd make a post. Anyway, I'm a recreational rifle shooter, I'd like to get some exposure to shotgunning and I've been tossing around the idea of reloading as well. So far the population of the safe includes a Glock 27, Savage .17HMR, Talo 10/22 Ruger Race Rifle, Henry Golden Boy .22, Colt AR-15, and a Marlin 336 .30-30 Lever action.

Hello

I'm just a fourteen year old that wants to learn as much as possible about guns to be educated so that when I go to buy a weapon, I won't just be a dumb kid. I would also like to learn how to be prepared if I ever need to use my guns in defense.
Thanks
Daniel

not so new

Hello My name is Joel, I am a not so new member, but just started posting. I am a transplanted NYC dweller who lives in beautiful TN. I am not a collectot but one who acquires , many types of fire arms. I am an avid shooter, and love to kill pices of paper at 50 - 200 yards. I am a solitary shooter who enjoys taking my time and thinking about the shot, but belong to the Chattanooga Rifle Club. My passion is handloading for accuracy, among my treasures I have a 308 built on a Stolle panda, with jewel trigger, Lone wolf stock, and hart barrel, A 22-250 customized 40X, that shoots 1 hole groups at 200 yards, as cwell as an anschutz 2013 BR50. But I love my hand guns, a lot of 10's, 45's, and 44's

Yes, I'm brand new, but quite old, I call that maturing around the edges(hair beginning to gray) around my 55 year old ears.
I am a outdoor writer for 19 hunting magazines, and have 7 writers that keep me current with our work load. Always looking for good new writers with how to's and where to's of hunting.

I am also a Discounted hunt sales broker. I search out good hunting places for whitetai, and mule deer, elk and antelope that haven't been hunted for years. Then working directly with the owner/farmer/rancher I book hunters looking for low cost hunts in the west and midwest and Canada. My lowest cost one with meals and lodging for whitetasil in Nebraska is only $795 for a 4 day hunt. They are all on my web site quanity to Quality.
http://rcsoutdoorwritersinc.com/DiscountedHunts.aspx

Now as far as guns and hunting I have hunted every year since I blew out the last candle on my 11th birthday cake. I purchase 10 to 20 big game tags every year and hunt Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas, and Iowa for deer and antelope.

As far as rifles and shooting I shoot Muzzleloader, shotguns, pistols, and of course rifles on a regular basis. I shoot compition 600 yard high-power, Across the Course(200,300 and 600 yard slow and rapid fire), Silouette, skeet, trap, sporting clays.

I enjoy life and am always looking for a hunt, sometime I swap hunt with others for a Wyoming Antelope hunt, Cabin lodging, fishing, and atving in the Colorado mountains. I've met some great people and had some good hunts doing this.
I'd be happy to chat with any of the members on hunting and shooting in general.

Yosemite

I am not what you might call a gun nut but I do enjoy using and owning a few long guns and pistols. One of my favorite rifles to shoot is my 50 caliber Hawkin.
I am presently interested in finding out about Sporting Clays, have had the opporftunity to shoot a few sets and really enjoy doing so. I own a Winchester Super X Model 1 12 gauge automatic. Have looked at some O/U but am having a hard time spending that much money if the shotgun I have will do tghe job. Any thoughts or suggestions?

New Guy

Good Day All

I would just like to say hello to everyone on this forum, I have gained quite a bit of good info on this forum about many thing's including my Norinco 1911a1 which I just had out to the range today, I had just completed installing an Ed Brown barrel bushing and replaced all the spring's with Wolf spring's and also installed a Les Baer serrated flat main spring housing with Ajax grip's to top it off, this thing shoot's just as well as a Kimber custom two I fired once for a lot less money.

Take Care All and Thank's for all the great info.

I should say hello, I've been reading (lurking) here for 4 years !

When I lived in Texas I had a winchester 94............. now that I live in France I have a Remington 1854 (unfired, unfortunately - $1000 club fees have kept me from the range).
It was while searching for BP info that I found this site.

My daily "go-to" sites are BBC, Highroad & lately Zombie Squad.

Cheers

Wasn't sure where to put this thread...

Hey all. I have read THR for quite some time now, but finally signed up! So, im a newbie saying Hi!

Welcome aboard.

Get ready for some calamity because no one can agree on anything about guns but that is what makes it so fun.
