I am new here, going to be doing alot of reading, learning and not much posting for awhile. I have been shooting and hunting with my Grandpa and Dad as long as I can remember.

Hello fellow enthusiast,

I have been shooting since I was about 10 years old. I would visit my Grandparents in New Mexico and they would take me to the desert to target shoot. I was taught by my father and Grandfathers gun safety and gun maintenance/cleaning. I now live in Southern California where most to the places to shoot have closed down.

I must say that there is a lot to try and absorb on this site with input from all over the country. I think the trick here is to look first, THEN ask questions. It appears as though just about anything imaginable has already been discussed here.

I look forward to hours of interesting reading.

Hi all.

I'm Atom. I grew up hunting in Utah and served in the Marine Corps, so you could say I'm pretty familiar with weapons. I'm retired and am a preacher now, but have some questions about the legality of certain types of weapons. It was suggested this site would be the best place to ask.

I'll have to read around a bit first, to make sure someone hasn't already asked.

Amen

Hello All,

Am an avid sport shooter, currently have 7 different calibers in the safe, pistols and rifles both. I also do a little trap shooting with a 12ga.

Just mainly here to talk guns and learn some new stuff.

I'm new to the forums, but I have been reading a lot of the posts. I love to shoot, and being in the military I only get time on the Beretta M9, but I have always been a fan of the 1911, which is why I chose it to be my first owned gun.

There are many members in this forum that are very knowledgeable and I hope to learn a lot.

My name is Nels, its good to meet you all.

I live in australia and have always had a keen interest in hunting, target shooting and firearms in general, (although our rights to own guns is massively limited over here, so i currently only own rifles, still working on getting a handgun). So when i stumbled across this forum i thought it would be a good way to hear/see your views and knowledge on the various issues that firearms owners have.

the guns i own are:

Remington 7600 pump carbine in 30-06, used mainly for deer hunting in the thick scruby areas that i usually find myself hunting in.

Howa 1500 lightening bolt action in .243, not the fanciest gun around but great value and it hasn't let me down yet. it mainly gets used for shooting ferals cats and dogs, shooting foxes and whatever eats the grass and crops of my friends farms.

Stirling m-14p bolt action .22, good for bunnies and birds.

Joined about a week ago, been lurkin readin up on ar15 posts since i have almost decided that will be my next purchase. I was an ak guy when i was younger but i think its time to give an American made platform a go. Currently living in North Dakota, which we've taken to calling "bird heaven" due to the insane amount of upland and waterfowl we hunted this fall. Originally from Utah so the lack of public lands has taken some getting used to but at least NoDak has the same views on firearms that my home state does. My next purchases will be a EBR and a semi-auto 9 or 40 if anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated. thanks

Hey, I'm an avid outdoorsman. I believe the right to bear arms truly is inalienable. I have a M1911 made in 1917, a tricked out Bushmaster AR, and a .22 plinker. I reload .223/5.56 and .45 ACP. I love TheHighRoad.org, m1911.org, and AR15.com, and am an NRA member. Good to meet ya'll! :)

Hi All,

I am Rock, but alas, that moniker was taken here. I am a former soldier, sailor, and police officer. My dad was a cop before me and I have grown up around guns. They are one of the few things I didn't get in trouble with as a kid.

I am terrified of the UN and other groups trying to disarm America's populace. There's a fine line between "be prepared" and "if it moves, shoot it", but life is about balance.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

I tend to be on JerzeeDevil.com, a knife forum, where I am Rock.

Hi from East Texas!

I have been around this forum for a few years, joined in to post the 1st, I am a cancer survivor that has been a right-handed shooter for 50 years, now I am learning to shoot left handed due to some surgery.

I am a deer hunter, also hunt hogs and feral critters. Been invited on a doe hunt this month and took out my favorite rifle to the range today...1916 7x57 commercial Mauser. Fired 10 rds, last three I covered with a quarter, that may get me a doe. LOL

I have been a commercial truck driver for years, now I am disabled and may get to hunt a little more. I have 7 grandkids and a suffering wife of 43 years. ;-)

Hope to see you folks around for a long time.

Happy New Year!

Another new guy. I'm just getting into handguns and stumbled onto this site. I've been shooting / hunting most all my life. I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of helpful tips here.

Hi all! I am former hunter interested in self defense related weapons and target shooting, as well as learning about guns in general.
