New member

:) Just joined this forum and wanted to say hello. I mostly collect S&W
revolvers and post some on the S&W forum. I am retired and like to read
and learn about hand guns. I am looking forward to learning more about
guns from you all. Don

Hey all. Just saying Hi with this first post. I'm a retired LEO instructor with lots of small arms expirience but these days I'm mostly into hunting rifles and I still enjoy plinking with all of my old handguns. I decided to stop lurking and join in occasionally.

:DHello all! New member here. Not new to guns but just found this great forum. Looks like you guys cover it all. I've owned and shot many brands and have been mostly in to handguns but have recently caught the EBR disease! Have had to sell a few handguns due to job loss but still have my G26 for range and carry and my wifes Lady Smith.

Thanks for the great forum!

Howdy, I'm new to this site. I've been shooting and hunting for over 40 years. I'm a 26 year Law Enforcement veteran, I also raise and train American Quarter Horses. I got into cowboy action shooting about a year ago and now I'm hooked. Here in southwest Kansas we have some of best upland bird hunting in the U.S. and I'm an avid pheasant hunter and varmint hunter.

Howdy Y'all

Every time I do research on a firearm there is a link to knowledge here So I had to get in on the fun. located in Lake country - south central Virginia.
Been Hunting and fishing for 60 years [ Yep I'm older than but not cheaper than dirt ] . Semi-retired and hope to go full time Hunt and Fish if the Obamany turns around.
Got hooked here reading the 39 club thread which is next on the wish list after I find a 1894c at a reasonable price.

Hey everybody! I am obviously new here and have hunted nearly all 31 years I have lived. In the last couple of years I have gotten into shooting much more and bought a Browning A-Bolt 308, a Kimber 45, a Ruger SR9, an XD in 45 GAP (oops), and then my dad gave me the 700 BDL in 222 Rem that I shot my first deer with when I was 9. Since then, my 9 yr old daughter shot her first deer with it, and I have 2 more daughters that will shoot their first with it as well. Yea I know it is small for deer, but shot placement is really what matters. I have also taken up reloading and am somewhat addicted to it. I have my sights set on a Ruger Target model in 6.5mm Creedmoor as my next investment.

Hello Everyone,

Well I am a new member, and have seen many threads from THR while searching topics on google. I'm 28 years old, and have been collecting firearms since I started reenacting in my teens. I started looking at joining a forum in my recent search to find a MP5 style gun. It just seems to get harder and harder. I have been looking at trying to find a CA89, but can't seem to find a way to get one. If anyone knows, I'd love some advice. Especially after reading that the GSG guns are now going the way of the collector.

I can't say that there is a firearm out there that I wouldn't enjoy shooting. My true love does stem from a love of history. I love collecting military surplus. It is a cost effective way too shoot, surplus ammo is cheap, and great rifles for only a couple hundred. My most recent purchase was a duel purchase. I picked up a VZ 24 and a Nagant from Aim surplus. I love that sight! They both appear to be in excellent shape, but I havn't cleaned all of the grease off yet!

I look forward to posing and speaking with everyone.

New to Forum

Been reading this forum for a couple of weeks and decided to join up. Happy to be here and I enjoy the topics being discussed in all the threads.

Hello all. I'm a father of 3 in the lovely wet Washington. I enjoy running my jeeps, puttering around the house and an occasional trip to the range. Getting into practical shooting so I guess that means more range time :)

My apologies in advance for any stupid post I may put up.

Hey THR,

Been reading the forums for a few weeks now and decided to join. Don't have much experience with firearms, just some occasional clay shooting. I don't have a single gun to my name yet, but am looking to change that in the next month or so. Still trying to decide if I want a shotgun first for sporting clays and occasional hunting, or a ccw handgun. Thanks in advance for all the helpful advice! Oh, I'm 23 and work as a computer operator at night.

Hello from the frozen North.

Been shooting and hunting for almost 60 years. Decided to get back into reloading after a long absence. Gonna feel like starting from scratch. Anyway I've been reading and enjoying this forum for awhile and thought I'd join to pick a few brains and share some info.

Howdy. I live in NH, married with 3 girls. I'm a firm believer in the rights established by our forefathers. My wife and I recently got into cowboy shooting. We own a few guns, and enjoy talking to other mature gun owners ( not mall ninjas) about the hobby of shooting and self defense.

New Guy from Texas

I live in the North Texas area, I like 1911's, Sigs, AR's and big bore rifles. I have been a Paramedic since 1981, have 3 grandkids, spent 3 years in Iraq and Afghanistan as a remote duty medic for various Government contractors so I could retire early. I'm still working, but I did get to retire from the Fire Department after 27 years.

I am a new member and have recently started collecting some Colts autos and revolvers. I prefer the python and have purchased a python hunter in the halliburton case. This gun is LNIB except for some small pitting that may have been caused from storage in the case. The marks only appear on the top side of the barrel and cylinder. What is the best way to store the gun in the case without this happening?

Been reading for the last year and finally became a member. about to turn 21 so pistols are going to be added to the collection soon. enjoy reloading and this last month have started melting and cleaning lead just waiting to buy a mould for my soon to own .454 raging bull

Afternoon everyone, Joined the other day and have been catching up on some of the posts in here. Been a longtime owner of shotguns and rifles (including 1 historic rifle), recently joined the handgun ownership crowd with a new .40 caliber and been practicing plenty with it.

Looking forward to some good insights and opinions from the members here on a number of topics.
