Hello my Names Justin LaScala. Seems like I always get sent here by google whenever I'm searching for something, so I decided to join. From reading the threads here I came to the conclusion that a lot of the members are pretty cool, knowledgeable people. The firearms I own are Springfield xd45, xd9, YUGO SKS, Mosin Nagant M44, BersaThunder380, Mossberg500, RugerP95, and soon hope to be the owner of a Rock Island Armory Tactical. Thanks for having me and if you have any questions feel free to drop me a line.

Hello all,

New to the forum, so I thought I'd post here to make it official. Been shooting since I was a kid: rifles, muzzleloaders, shotguns, pistols...I have them all. I've been active duty Air Force for the past 12 years, but I'm going to transition to the AF Reserve this spring. I'm into hot rods, motorcycles, straight razor shaving, playing guitars, and good scotch. But back to the guns...

I'm currently focusing on handguns. Last year I picked up a Beretta PX4 .45 and a S&W M&P 9c. Very happy with both. Waiting for the order of M&P 340s to come in at the local gun store so I can get one of those too. After all I've read about them (especially here on the 340 forum), I can't wait to squeeze off a few rounds from that little bugger!

I mostly lurk and read, don't post very often. But I will when I think I can add to the conversation.

Thanks!

Another new member

I have been messing around with pistols for the last few years but have recently gotten back into rifles. I used to hunt small game a bunch as a kid. I want to get into that again and throw some big game in the mix. I have been reading posts here for quite some time and have decided to finally join up.

Hello, thought I would finally introduce myself after lurking for months. I grew up in a home with guns and hunted as a child. Currently I am interested in EBR and handguns.

Hello from Minnesota's Arrowhead region. I enjoy firearms and shooting. I am a Private Detective and also a Bail Bondsman. I am a firearms instructor, use of force instructor. I have been carrying a concealed pistol for over 30 years. I thoughly enjoy this discussion group. I read a lot, write very little. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hello to everybody

I'm a relatively new member to the firearms community. There is so much to learn... Being new, I'm still discovering what types of firearms I like and plan to own... I have narrowed it down from 'one of everything' to 'one of everything I can afford'. I've already learned that in the beginning, you don't really own a gun, you just use it until another one comes along, then you trade or sell it to make room for another.

My likes, I think, are handguns, both revolver and semi-auto, shotguns, lever action rifle... oh, and maybe a bolt action in the future....

Thanks for the great forum and all that I'm about to learn!

Hello from liberal Seattle

So, I've been lurking for a while, trying to collect information on getting started in reloading, and this seems like a very informed forum.

I live in Seattle, which is generally not friendly to guns, but I shoot at the Seattle Police range, which is. Ha.

Anyway, I'm 60 yo, just retired and have time, so I decided to make the plunge into reloading and just ordered a Hornady kit. Now I have a "lot" of reading to do; need to build a bench first.

I was in the Army in the 60's, so feel comfortable with guns. I've enjoyed handguns (Wilson CQB, S&W 3913, FHP-9, PPK, SIG 226, S&W 686), but am getting back to rifles. I have a Bushmaster AR-15, Marlin 30-30 lever and a Remington 308.

I was surprised how pricey gathering all the reloading equipment can be, but when I get it set up and ready, I'll be back here asking questions.

I was poking around and found your site. Looks great. I'm retired navy and about 8 years from retiring again. I'm a custom knife maker, (part time) I have been making knives since 1998, I have made over 300, but don't own any, I use them to support my shooting habits. Here is an example of my work.

Always lurked, now member...

I've always found accurate information on THR through searches, thought I'd ask a question, so signed up to post. Anyhow, been shooting since way before bifocals.:D

Now I look forward to enjoying the forums more fully.

Hello, I am Robert. A newbie to this sort communication, so forgive if I'm not up to speed. First, I'm ex-military army with 18 years experience in communications support of combat arms units in the ARMY . I have two firearms at this time: Kel-Tec PF 9, and an Savage model 24, 410-22 over under that was given to me by my father. I have owned several other guns in the past. SKS's and revolvers, I also have an antique Kentucky long rifle that was also given to me by my Father that needs work. My main interest now is the Kal-Tec PF9. I would like to talk with owners of this handgun to get pointers and share modifications I've made to mine. Any help you can give, will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Robert B

Hello from Minneapolis

Well, I’ve been reading and learning here for a few months as I start the meager beginnings of my collection, but this is my first post.

I’ve been shooting since before I can remember (2+ decades) but really haven’t owned many firearms. I used to do a lot of road hunting for asparagus and striped gophers with my father when I was young starting with the BB gun and graduating through the calibers…it’s quite amazing what a .44 mag does to those little gophers, difficult to find much of its tail remaining. The bulk of my shooting was some casual (if there is such a thing) IPSC using a Beretta 9mm back in my mid teens with my father and some of the local Sheriff department. The majority rest of my shooting has been pheasant or deer hunting with my trusty 870.

I hope to learn much here.

Newest new guy.... for now

Hello,

Like many... joined cause so many of my searches took me here anyway. Very rich discussions that have been very helpful.

I'm in my 40s, ex USMC EW Officer, now in the cyber security field. Adamant supporter of 2nd Amendment rights and big adherent to sentiment expressed by Jeff Cooper (paraphrased) "The man that picks up a rifle goes from being a subject to being a citizen." That's heavy stuff when you really think about it. Also an NRA member and regular reader of "Guns and Ammo" and "The Rifleman".

I can appreciate all guns, but like many posters, I'm looking to finalize the "ideal" combination of short and long guns that meet all the basic "tactical" needs; without amassing an arsenal. Probably an M1A or Remington 700 is my next purchase.

Look forward to "chatting" with all of you.

BTW, my pseudonym "B24" simply reflects my general appreciation for that venerable WWII bomber and the gutsy guys who flew them into flak and never wavered. That along with appreciation for that whole generation and the "lifestyle" back then; simple and straight-forward.

Hello form Phoenix

Guns were a career for me for a few years and now that I have a real job I seem to miss it. I hope to find some of the correspondance and information sharing that I liked so much when I was behind the counter or milling machine.

Barry, geezer from RI originally, now in FL and lovin' it. Shot much skeet and trap 'til shoulders gave out. I do handgun and rifle. Love fishing and woodwooking in addition to gunz.

Greetings to all. Newby here. For those who are interested, I am a 45-70 fanatic, avid hog hunter, proud supporter of THE SECOND AMENDMENT. My greatest question is as follows: What is it about the phrase "the Right to bear Arms shall Not be infringed" do liberal anti-gunners not understand?
Looking forward to making new friends in the community.

Hey, Shooter1, sounds like we have alittle bit in common. Just to let you know, opinions are like thumbs: most people have them, even though some are alittle odd.
Christian myself, and proud of it. Been shooting, reloading, and exercising my Second Amendment Right for 25 years. Though not as long as some, just as devoted.

Lookin for a few good guns!

Hey guys. proud to be aboard!
I'm looking for a lot of guns. They don't need to function, they just need to look like guns. Long guns, pistols etc whatever. Any word on picking up the police evidence guns before they melt them down? And do dealers/shops have pieces they would be willing to dump for cheap?

My dad gave me a couple of cast metal gun molds as a kid. They were one solid piece of metal and thus not functioning and they were perfect replicas of a .45 Auto, a colt .45 a S&w .38 snub and a Mauser. I've never seen anything like them since, has anyone?

any advice would be appreciated. thanks Jim

I'm proud to live in a country where a web site like this exists!

I'm David from the East Bay of San Francisco. I am getting into guns again after a while away. I am a former artillery officer in the US Army. I am concerned about our country, the State of California and the direction they're heading. I am concerned about our constitution being bypassed by our political leaders.

I have .44 Magnums in the form of a S&W 329PD, and a Henry Big Boy. I look forward to a bolt action rifle and a shotgun when I hit some business goals I have set for myself. I am also a lefty, so that helps me to narrow down some of my choices.

In addition to a few firearms, I also dabble in ordnance with a 2 pounder cannon that is a 1:4 scale, nickel alloy, replica of a Civil War 12 pounder. I have the plans for a mountain howitzer field carriage that I am looking forward to building.

I also have my my Dad's old Pacific bench press, and the equipment to pour .44 mag bullets and 2 lb. cannon balls. I am looking forward to networking with all of you so that I can learn how to utilize these things safely, and have fun.

Hello all! Joined the community about a month ago and just got around to posting for the first time. I live in Wisconsin and currently serve as an MP in the Army National Guard. As for gun interests....I love handguns and assault rifles...Just bought a XDM .40 this weekend and love it. I'm also very involved/interested/concerned in the political aspects of 2nd Amendment rights. I also have a strong interest/passion in concealed and open carry political issues and rights. Concealed carry is illegal in Wisconsin, but open carry is permitted (few people know about it) and I fully exercise the right to open carry. Look forward to talking firearms with all of you!!
