Greetings from DFW, Texas.

I'm 22 and new to firearms. My grandfather gave me a couple of .22 rifles last year as he's starting to realize he doesn't have any use for such things anymore. One is a 1906 (08?) Winchester pump that he shot for years and years to the point that the extractor doesn't work half the time and a Marlin 39A that my great grandfather left to him.

I've always entertained the idea of getting into target and clay shooting, but never quite had the initiative before those dropped in my lap.

Hello all, Names morter Im from ohio and hopefully in three days I will own my first firearm... mossberg 590a1... Ive been a firearms nut my entire life learning as much as i can from as many sources as i can. Joined the army after my 20th birthday and unfortunately didn't work out after a year of serving so I am back in the civilian world and living with my parents at the age of 21... I am a very big fan of tnp and hopefully soon will be putting up some vids of my own on youtube of various reviews projects and such...

Hi all. Not new to shooting, but new to drooling over firearms. Something just clicked recently and see myself spending some money in the near future.

Hello all .
Just found this site and it seems a lot more civil than a couple others i've joined, so decided to hang around for a while. I'm interested in all aspects of the shooting world also an avid motorcyclist (sport tourer) .Like riding fast and shooting straight.

hello to all .. I'm new to this site but not to other's gun related . My desire being
part of this site, is to both 'learn' & offer pertinent information . I am a retired

Hello everyone,

I found this site while doing some research on my uncles .38spl RG revolver. I read the thread concerning these "Real Garbage" guns, and thought the community seemed very knowledgeable and funny. I hope to learn a lot more about firearms from this site, and will try to enjoy doing so.

Sincerely,

Easy Rhino

new member needs help!

Are there any markings or numbers on a Browning Medalion safe that would tell me if it is fire rated? I want to buy one off of craigs list and they say it is about 7 years old. Just dont want to make a big mistake!

thanks!

Hello,
I found this site when researching scopes. This is a very good sight. I am currently overseas, but plan on buying an M1A Scout Squad. I have a whole bunch of things I want to do to it. I have already ordered everything for it, except for the rifle itself.

M14 Troy Modular Chassis
X6 rail thermal covers
Magpul BUIS front and rear
Generic Flashlight and mount, I don't plan on really using it too much
Stark SE-1 AR-15 Pistol Grip
Magpul CTR-C (Commercial) Stock BLACK
TROY Modular Combat Grip - BLACK
AR-15 EZ Carbine QD Swivel Attachment, Daniel Defense
Troy Q.D. 360 Rail Mount - Push Button

All I have left, besides the rifle, is a sling and my scope issue. I don't know what would be the best scope for this rifle. I also want a different type of flash suppressor, but just like the scope, do not know what I should get. I am prior military, but I am no expert on weapons. If anybody has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. I will be posting picks of my rifle as I build it.
Thanks,
Josh

Just wanted to introduce myself.

I like revolvers, lever-action rifles, and shotguns.
My current guns: Henry lever-action .22
High Standard Sport-King .22
S & W model 66 .357

I'll be in the market soon for a shotgun, and would be interested in trading the High Standard for a SA revolver in 22lr.

I grew up shooting with my boy scout troop (most of the scoutmasters were ex-military, all of them were big gun enthusiasts), and I rediscovered shooting about a year ago. I plan to take up hunting this fall.

Hello:

I'm a mid thirties parent of three living in the DFW area of TX. Grew up hunting and shooting and still try to go as often as I can. I work in the big city. I enjoy shotgunning and occassional pistol shooting. Love the forum so far. Best I have seen for everything from legal issues to specific gun questions. Fantastic.

I love being a noob! Greetings from suburban Chicago. Yes, Chicago and yes THAT suburb! (re: McDonald v. Chicago) So, I do my teaching outside of the city and manage to enjoy my hobby/job that seems to cost a lot more than I make from it.
Primarily a handgun shooter but the current crop includes:
M&P9c with Crimson
M&P9c with ambi safety (for the daughter)
M&P9Fullsize
1955 M&P .38 revolver
Taurus Judge (the ultimate home defense firearm. #4shot/000 Buck/repeat til full)
Sig Sauer 239-9 SAS
S&W 22A
Marlin Golden 39A .22

Other little bits and pieces.

Enjoy drag racing during the summer months. Suck at golf. Teach scuba (yes, we dive here in the tundra). Love just hanging out with the family.

Glad to come aboard and will read and learn....then post and contribute.

Thanks to all.

Hiya!

About a few months ago a murder happened near our house and well, it being the tiny town of Corvallis, it was a big deal.
So the wife decided we needed some home defense. We went out and bought this workhorse of a Shotgun, a Mossberg 500A ... Shortly after that another assault happened this time ... still near our house.
So we both decided to go through the courses required and get licensed to carry concealed.

Then I got bit by the Snubbie fever. Pretty much the first time I fondled one, I fell in love with the whole compact/concealable gun genre.

Right now I own an LCR, which is my carry gun, I have a 3" Detective Special at the gunsmith right now and a .38 S&W Terrier.

The Army makes me shoot an M4, but saying I enjoy it might be a stretch, but for that the M9 makes up for it.

Hello everyone. I have been looing around here for a little while and decided to join this evening. I am fairly new to guns in general and have just recently purchased my first hand gun (I shoot handguns with buddies and I currently own a Mossberg 590A1). I will be picking up my new Smith and Wesson M&P 40 cal on Friday (10 day waiting period here in California). I look forward to learning all I can about the this and other guns as well as the most reliable way to improve on my accuracy. Thanks for allowing me to join in on the fun.

Hello,

I've been lurking for a bit and decided to actually start talking a little. I'm a complete newbie to all things guns and am finding that I really enjoy them. I'm a recent transplant to Southern Utah from Los Angeles, CA. I don't yet own any firearm, I just swoon and soot my boyfriend's guns. I am avidly researching guns to purchase my first handgun and shotgun. I'm excited to learn as much as I can and get around to trying out as many things as I can.

Greetings fellow lovers of burnt powder!!!!

A buddy of mine recommended this forum, so here I am. My gun interests are all over the place. U.S made Wby Mark V's, Belgian Brownings, ANYTHING in 260 Rem, 1911's (Kimber, DW, STI), hopefully soon a Ruger No.1H Tropical in .375 Hot&Heavy. If I'm not talking about guns, I'm thinking about them. I look forward to sharing my disease with the THR community.

Greetings All

I have grown up with guns all my life, shooting with my granddad and dad alike. For me both modern and historical pieces have always held a fascination. I currently own a replica Single Action Army and am planning to acquire more in the future, especially if I stay in Texas. It's great to actually be on the forum rather than just reading and lurking!

Best,
William

Hello from south east Michigan.
I am 25, got my first gun at 8 and been hooked ever since.

I normally am reading on the Michigan sites. Joined here to get out of my comfort zone a bit.

I am happy to see that the format here is identical to my everyday forum. So nothing to get used to.

Hello all,
Just joined up last night. I answered a post about a muzzleloading gun before I saw this thread. Hope that means I won't have quit my gun lovers club membership and join HandGun Control inc or anything like that ( LOL ).
I enjoy shooting my .22's ,Hunting big and small game and shooting my traditional black powder firearms . Looking forward to hearing from y'all, Andy

New member from Alabama

Hello, Brothers in arms.

Not a new Shooter, Just a new member. Lots of good info here, look forward to hanging out.

Hi I'm new to this site but not to firearms. Got my first.22lr when I was 10 and have been hooked ever since. I'm mostly a target shooter and starting to explore hunting. Joined the Army when I was 18 and went the Airborne Infantry route. Left the Army and went Civilian. Now I'm in IT. I'm very familiar with taking things apart, getting them back together is another story J/K.

Recently I've been hooked on the 1911 platform but I'm always on the lookout for something new.

Greetings to all,
Bo
