Aloha All,

May wait til January 1, 2011 to apply for the CCW since Iowa will on that day turn into a "Shall Issue" state with a 5 year license :)

I have come back after a almost 3 year medical problem situation concerning diabetes, kidney transplant ans, amputation and a new prosthesis right leg this past March,2010. rich642z I am glad to be alive and back

Hello! I am only 18 years old, but I already have a great start to collecting and shooting firearms. My very first was a 1960's winchester model 100, chambered in .308. It was a gift for my 14th birthday from my grandfather. since then, i have bought a winchester semi-auto .22, a mossberg 9200 12 gauge, a stevens 200 in .308, a SAR-1, a ruger p89 dc, got a mosin nagant from my girlfriend for christmas, and most recently bought an sks mc-5d!

Hey guys and gals, new member here.

Twenty two years old, small business owner. I have some limited gun experience, and currently only own ONE guy (.22 Ruger MKII pistol) which I enjoy enough.

Joined this forum to increase my knowledge and consult with knowledgeable people before new gun purchases (going to get a practical concealed carry gun and new long rifle soon) and to just lurk and learn.

I'll post a few questions, but mainly i'll just browse!

Hello from Indiana!

My name is Dave, and I just love to excercise my right to keep and bear arms, as well as shooting stuff! I'm from Texas, I love to hunt, fish and celebrate the outdoors.

Hi Guys .. I'm Mike. Big time Gun Guy. Active on a few other forums. I shoot a lot of sporting clays and some handgun matches too. Am an unabashed tinkerer ... love to work on my own guns. Am a Mechanical Engineer by trade.

Just came over from the firing line. Been there for a few months. I'll do my best to stay on both sites and contribute when I can, but I don't know that much yet. I'm 22, got into guns when I was 21 and a half. So yes, ya might hear me say some dumb stuff from time to time. :)

Used to have a Colt AR-15 20+ years ago. It was sold and never had a firearm since... until my wife bought me a mossberg 500 for father's day. :D I do have a few antiques from my grandfather (model94 w/saddlering and Colt .38 Police Special, both serials are 1925 manufactured) won't ever shoot em though.

I'm the co-owner of Bishop Ammunition Manufacturing, which produces small arms ammunition and is now sold in san jose, sacramento, and rocklin, california and in fallon nevada. We have been in business for a year now and are FFL Class 6 and 8 licensed.

Salutations

Hello, folks. Doing things in my usual cart-before-horse fashion, I actually started a "help me pick my first gun" thread over in the auto loaders area... before this intro.

A few basics:
Name: Tom
Age: 34
Reside: Nashville
Born & Raised: Wisconsin
Teams: Badgers, Packers (Bucks and Brewers too, but to a lesser degree)
Main firearm interest: Plinking/fun
I've already received some pretty good advice. Hopefully one day I'll be able to give some.

One last thing:

If you vote for me, all your wildest dreams will come true. hehe

hehe

I'm from Thibodaux, LA. I enjoy hunting, fishing and shooting among other things. I have a few handguns, some rifles and a couple of shotguns. I want to get started loading my own ammo soon so I'll be searching the forum and asking questions.

Hello,

My name is Dale and I love guns! I don't own an exorbitant amount of guns, buy love to shoot all of them. I primarily shoot 22's because they are so darn cheap, but I also like to shoot my .45 and my SKS.

This seems to be a place that I could get used to.....lots of gun talk, a little political talk and tons of great advice.

See ya in the threads.........

Dale

I live in south east SC. Used to do a lot of Duck hunting, some Deer hunting, a lot of off shore fishing. Now I sit on a pond and shoot turtles and snakes. I'm 65 today. I carry two guns a Ruger sp101 and a Bond Arms Century 2000 45/410 Derringer. I ride a Motorcycle or a Motorscooter everyday when exersizing my dogs. With the economy and stealing like it is I've added a few guns to my collection. A Mossberg 500 w/PG and a Marlin md55 Goose gun 12 ga. 3" Mag, to reach out and touch someone. Also a few others, all have special purposes. This forum looks interesting.

Hi everyone!

Hey everyone, I've just been reading on the site a lot and decided to just register so I can actually participate. I'm 24 years old from Houston, and I'm relatively new to gun ownership. Additionally, I just recently received my CHL. I learned how to shoot in Scouts (made Eagle), but my parents are ambivalent about guns - we never owned one. I came to the realization that it is my right and duty to carry and be proficient after I got married (the male need to protect family, I suppose).

I really got my start in shooting clays, but I haven't done that in years and I don't have the dough to buy a good shotgun yet. Currently, I am most interested in defensive applications, but I like pretty much anything to do with guns.

So, I'm just here to learn from everyone else, and share whatever I come up with.

hello ya'all

Hey guys, this is the best forum I've seen yet. I finally decided to sign up and here I am. Hope everything's well on everyone's home front and look forward to talking to everyone.:neener:

Been around for a couple of weeks but never introduced myself

I don't really know what to say about myself. I've been around here a couple of weeks, but I never made a formal introduction. I guess I'm not much good at talking about myself. Reckon I'll give a short bio, though, and outline what I'm interested in, mostly.

Bio--

I'm a student (I hope to study medicine, though I'm not at the med school point yet), and have read extensively on a variety of subjects. Firearms are, to me, much like the human body-- both a work of art and a useful instrument to an end but are not a toy. Basically, I think that most guns are beautiful because they are mechanically complex in some senses, yet are very simple in others, again much like the body. My favorite weapons ever built include the AK-47, M-14, Garand, various Mausers (love that bolt mechanism), and the Ruger Mini-14. My current gun collection includes a 7x57 Mauser (my favorite gun I currently own), a Mosin-Nagant, a Ruger GP-100, a Savage (Stevens) .22 magnum, and a Mossberg 12-gauge. Money is generally an object for me (I have other things to pay for besides extraneous firearms I can't keep in the dorm anyway), but the next gun I want to acquire is a Mini-14.

I am originally from Oklahoma, but now live in Texas. I never lived more than 2 years in any one town until my family moved here.

It's nice to meet everyone, and I'm looking forward to more interesting conversations on here.

My name is Leigh and I am 21, I am married and have a beautiful son as well as 2 great dane labs and 2 cats. I just got my first handgun XD .45 4 months ago and have become an "addict". Just before mothers Day my husband got me my Sig p220 nickle and I LOVE IT!

I never liked guns thought they were not needed, my husband wanted guns and I thought 2 100+lb dogs was enough to scare off any one that wanted into the house. But I had told him as long as they are in the safe Ok. Well after getting more comfortable with the guns (while still being safe) we know carry in our car and on our person. It has surprisingly saved my life and you will never see me without my Sig or XD.

More guns are to come
