Greetings

Yes, another new member. Although I have seemed to acquire a number of firearms over the years, until recently I have not seriously attempted to gain some deep skills. A few days ago I completed my second course at Frontsight, a tactical training center about an hour northwest of Las Vegas. I have completed their basic handgun and rifle courses. They were pretty intensive but with a high regard for safety and instruction. I own a couple of Winchester 1300 shotguns, a Mini 14, two Colt AR 15s (6920s), two Springfield XDM 9mms, a Browning P92 9mm, a Colt Trooper 357, a Detective Special 38, a Ruger 10/22, an old Colt Police Special, and a Browning 380. Whoa! After listing these, I'm thinking it's about time I learned how to use them proficiently!!

My wife and I purchased a couple of lifetime memberships with Frontsight, and she is equally enthusiastic with what we have learned thus far. But what the courses also pointed out was how much I don't know as well. So you will probably see some pretty simplistic questions coming from me. But I am pleased I am here.

Saying 'Hello'

Hi all! First time posting. Been a 'lurker' for a while mostly on articles pertaining to Ithaca 37 12 ga for hunting, and reviews on the Savage Axis XP (previously the Edge) as I plan to purchase an entry level bolt action in .308 as soon as finances will allow. Anyways, again hello and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone and their families.

Cheers,
Centurian22

Hi everyone, my name is Melissa, im new here.

Ive been shooting since i was 10 years old with my dad on my grandfathers farm. Started with an old .22 Bolt action rifle that i cant even remember the make of, but i was hooked from that second on.

These days i tend to focus on handguns, mostly 1911's and other .45ACP guns. I have a few 1911, and its hands down one of my favourite guns.

Im starting to get into AR's and have been trying to figure out MA law for black guns. At this rate though, theres a damn good chance imma move up to Brattleboro Vermont.

Hi I'm Steve from Maryland. I just came across this thread and figured I'd better say hello.

My wife's father taught me to shoot way back in 1982 while I was still dating her!!! My wife & I both shoot & hunt when we can find the time.

I'm into handguns both revolver & automatic, hunting rifles, AR type rifles, C&R military rifles. Pretty much if it goes boom I like it.

I like rifle & pistol matches and simply target shooting to keep an edge for self defense and hunting.

I'd like to start trap shooting but I just don't know where I'll find the time.

I'm paid to be a computer software engineer.

Not much else to say.

Long time owner, first time poster.
Pretty much always had a gun or two in the house but was never "into" guns. Kind of started getting more into it lately though. Half dozen hand guns in stock and a couple long guns.
Joined here looking for better educated info on a possible new rifle purchase. I'll post that question in the appropriate area.

Thanks, Matt
Welcome aboard matt, hang on its a crazy fun ride here!

All the best from Denton County Texas. My name is Randall and i have been sport shooting and hunting since the '50s when my Dad gave me my first gun. I was 8 and my Mom had a fit. He spent no small amount of time with me on safety and also respecting and cleaning the equipment. I am grateful for him as he passed from a car accident the next year. I enjoy handguns mostly, and am so thankful to be an American. Anytime someone suggests to me that individual firearm ownership is a BAD THING, I urge them to look to Mexico, Cuba, etc. and see what a country looks like where only the so-called police and the criminals posses guns. I recently was given a Colt Gold Cup National Match mfg. in 1979 from the estate of a long time shooter buddy. I am learning the few differences between it and the issue 1911 i shot and carried while in the Army. Great gun!

First post, new Member.

I'm Steve, and I'm pretty new to gun ownership. Been around them my whole life though.

Very thankful to be in NC.

I own a 12 ga Mossberg 535 and a 12ga Pardner. Just this week I traded some old yamaha wave runners for a Romanian SKS in excellent condition (numbers matching) and a Mosin-Nagant M42 Carbine in excellent condition (numbers matching).

I'm looking for a cleaning rod and bayonet for the SKS and any other info!

I've been collecting a modest number of hand and long guns for a few decades and have recently become interested in gaining information on a Yugo Mauser M48 and an AR-15 that I am starting to use.
I am a self taught "basic" machinist and have always been highly gifted in the art of manual labor and my interest and ability to repair almost any common electro-mechanical or home related items has led me to have quite a few "friends" - I do lot of favors for these friends, family & others too lazy to learn what I was forced to learn.
I'd like to try some gunsmith work at some point after getting some formal and/or practical training.
I don't know a lot about firearms but I know I "need" as many as I can get. Hopefully those that I purchased are investment quality.
Thanks

New here too. I added a pic or two in the shotgun forum, but thought I'd pop in here as well. Not really new to firearms, just to firearm forums! Looking forward to learning!

Hi folks

New member here.. looks like a great forum. Here mostly for reloading help. I've got quite a mix of guns and I like them all for what they are. Each one has a story also, which i guess isn't surprising.

My first handgun. A Ruger .38/.357 GP-100 in stainless steel. Just a good straight shooter. You can drive nails with this thing. It my go to guy. Had to work over Thanksgiving once so I took all the OT money and bought this one.

My second a Beretta Centurion in .40 cal. Also a very nice gun, but I shoot straighter with the Ruger.

The third, a CZ-52 in superb condition, was like new when I bought it for $100. The dealer had a pallet full of them in holsters, so he pulled out 3 and gave me choice of them. Two were junk... the third was like new in a ratty old holster, so he said that wouldn't do and dug me out a pristine holster to match. This is a nasty weapon. Will punch holes in 1/2 inch steel plate like its not even there where my .357 will only dent it.

The 4th, a 1931 Cold Police Special in .38 cal. with a 5 inch barrel. My mother was at an estate auction in St. Paul, MN and bought an old console radio for $50. Took it home and was cleaning it and found a dishtowel rolled up and stuffed into the back of the radio. Inside the dishtowel was this gun, so she gave it to me. Took it to a gunsmith for a good clean/lube. He said it was out of the box new and had probably never been fired. Its in fabulous condition, obviously. A good straight shooter, though I don't shoot it much. The old guy that had it was in his 90's and used to work for the railroad as a surveyor. My guess is he packed it for protection back during the depression since there were a lot of people riding the rails back then.

My main long gun is a Ruger 7mm that I bought back in the late 70's. Bagged 4 elk and one deer with it. 4 of 5 were from 30 ft. or less. Longest one was about 100ft. So much for having a 3x9 scope... My fun gun is a Henry Big Boy in .357 cal. Plan to shoot it for the first time tomorrow, with factory ammo. Plan to dig around the forums for a good reload recipe for my Dillon Square Deal B reloader.

I do a fair amount of reloading for my handguns. I don't push it.. just mainly for plinking... That's about it.

Hey guys, I'm relatively new to firearms but I feel I've more than made up for my lack of experience with a wealth of knowledge, but I intend to keep learning. In July I bought my first firearm, a Springfield XDm 9mm and plan to buy a Ruger 10/22 and an AR by the end of 2012. I plan to stick around and learn a lot

Is that Bucky who was in St. Maarten & now lives in FL?

I recently began to reload. I originally wanted to reload so I can shoot more. Now I find myself wanting to shoot, just so I can free up brass to reload more! ??!?!?
