Hello Forum :)

Just wanted to introduce myself here by thanking all of the many posters for the valuable knowledge. I have been reading threads for a while while taking the steps to get my CWL here in Florida. Which gun to chose, class, appointment at the Dept. of Agriculture (***?) have all been made with your help (and the search function), thanks again for that.

Now I am reading about carrying how-to's and such, all very interesting and it looks like i will be spending good money finding the right way for me to do so. With the weather here, but being a rather conservative dresser I should find something that works. I have certainly learned here that this (how to carry best), as with the "right" weapon / caliber seems to be a very personal decision that no one can really help with. Just got to go out there and try things out.

So, I wish you all a safe and great new year, as I get more experience, I am sure that I will also develop from an avid reader to a poster as well.

Cheers!

Will

Excited to be here!

Hello to all. Just wanted to say "hello." I enjoy all aspects of firearms. From the politics aspect, to the safety aspect and beyond. I enjoy to read and discuss them and am always eager to learn something new!:D

Hi I am Robert
I am from Europe and I am preparing for the hard times that will obviously come soon.
I think guns are an important part of this preparation. I have two shotguns a winchester 1300 and a Maverickk 88. My next firearm will be a rifle.
I have recently discovered this forum which is a real encyclopedia on firearms
Great job

Hi, I'm Dave, My handgun intrest are S&W revolvers, although I have a couple rimfire semiauto's and a 1911. I have lots of long guns, some since my childhood.

I am a lifelong hunter, deer and upland game.

Took up reloading a couple years ago and probably enjoy this hobby more than shooting and hunting. Will spend most of my time here lurking in the reloading forum. Thanks for having me. Dave.

Happy New Year

Hello to all and a Blessed New Year.

My names is Marvin. I am new to this site and this new year i am taking up sporting clay with my wife and grandson. Looking for information on specific gun types.

Howdy everyone!
Like virtually all guns.
On the verge of my 1st AR build.
I make knives for a hobby.
From Oklahoma and live in North Texas.
That's about it.
Glad to be here!

Seems like I can't get rid of this auto-email so I'll try again. I'm 57 and part of that great demographic that typifies the American hunter. Love hunting but my places are fast being leased out from under me (no, I will not lease). So I've gone to long stretches of range time for prep for out-of-state hunts. Shooting is great relaxation and a never ending challenge. Hope I can add to the forum through my experience.

Howdy. I love this site and all of the interesting discussions I read here everyday so I finally joined. I'm from Minnesota. Prior military, OIF & OEF vet. I am a gun enthusiast and I cannot resist jumping in on a conversation about guns or gun rights. Glad to finally get on here.

New guy here from se wi I enjoy long walks on the beach....oops sorry wrong forum. I'm certifiably a gun nut! Anything and everything.

New user, to forum and guns alike.

Hello all, I am obviously new here but this place comes highly recommended by some friends, and from the little I have looked through already, I think this will be a great place to get information and hopefully one day contribute some myself. I am a 28yr old male living in NC/SC and just recently purchased my first gun, it's a Remington 700 in a 30-06 caliber. So far I am loving it. I have added a bi-pod (Winchester from walmart nothing special) and spent a day at a range dialing in the scope as best I can at 100 yards. Already put 160 rounds through it and spent quite a long time cleaning it afterwards. I look forward to doing a lot of reading and question asking as I further my collection hopefully soon.

Hello, I am a weapon enthusiast and I own a few. I am looking for information on new firearms and discussions on reciprocity laws. I have a few fema certs, act 235 cert, monadknock certs, a crp cert and am a practicing martial artist/boxer. I was able to find some info from this site that allowed me to finally get a magazine for my daewoo DH40 from pistolcraft.com. Lanny was very helpful and is very knowledgable about laws and weapons. I look forward to posting and reading post from others! Happy New Year!

Howdy! Ran into this forum while researching my I.A.B 1863 Sharps. It was a gift from my aunt and originally belonged to my uncle, who passed away many moons ago. It's been sitting in my safe for many years waiting for me to get interested, so here I am! I'll begin searching soon enough as I'm clueless on how to "roll my own", etc.

Thanks!
Jim

I served in the US Air Force for 21.5 years and was medically retired due to an Iranian roadside IED that wasted the Humvee I was riding in outside Baghdad International Airport on 15 April, 2006. I am a Pararescueman and Sniper. I love the long shots, but I am an adrenaline junkie that has had my share of CQB (Close Quarters Battle). I have been in every conflict from Desert Storm to the wars in both Afghanistan and Iraq and many more special ops that I cannot discuss for another 94 years. I love to talk, eat, sleep and shoot weapons of all sizes and I am also an expert with a knife. Feel free to contact me anytime just to chat or if you have any questions about a specific weapon system. I'm looking forward to joining in on some of the latest topics!

Hello all...My name is Hoyt. Great to be a part of THR. I have used the site many times for information and it has most always been dead on. I'm a hunter, shooter and overall gun enthusiast. My kids hunt and shoot competitively and I help coach our county 4-H shooting sports club. My 12 year old daughter killed her first deer last year with a beautifully placed single shot at 85 yds and this year won the KY State 4-H 9-11 yr olds .22 sporter rifle and air pistol shoots and was 2nd in the sporter air rifle shoot. This was her first year shooting .22 competitively and she also started shooting trap this year. My son shoots air rifle and archery. We have a few guns (1960s Baretta Silver Snipe 20ga, 1967 Marlin Golden 39A Mountie, 1978 Stevens 94M .410ga, 1980 Remington 1100 12g, 1984 Marlin 30-30, a 1985 TC Hawken .50cal and an unknown date Anshutz 1903 - .22cal) and bows but would like to get more.
Looking forward to reading what everyone has to say here. :)

Hello guys, gals just wanted to extend a greeting to everyone aboard. I'm a long time lurker as it where, but felt I needed to post some info in another thread to help out. Thought it prudent to start here first though.

Just wanted to say hello.
Some of you may already know me. I go by Candyman over at Surplus Rifle Forum and a few other forums.
TMiller556 contacted me over at SRF and asked if I would drop in here to help with some stock work questions.
I have been doing stock work for 24 years and have learned a few things along the way. I am always willing to help someone out when I can.

Hello from India

Hi to all,
Was searching about Nikon scope for air rifle on the net and got here:
http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-357092.html

The response to THR member MIL-DOT's post got my attention. He was a little what you say - (difficult to say maybe rude/frustrated). But the maturity in the other members response showed that this is a forum to be. In most other forum he would have got truly rude answers.

So i joined this forum , i like to be in company of gentlemen.
The responses also showed that most gun loving community are graceful people like here.

Hope to enjoy the stay
Thanks

Hi there THR! Long time listener, first time caller.

I've run across the site many times in the past when looking for some reviews and comparisons of prospective purchases, and figured that since I have repeatedly found both good information and a good tone here, I would finally go ahead and register and join in.

Hi
Been reading a lot of useful info off this site for a while now. Thought i may as well join and become part of the community

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is having a good day. Can anyone give me information on a 410 gauge 3 inc full proof tested made in Brazil by cbc? My uncle gave me this weapon to add to me collection. I tried researching and have found that it is a low end weapon used for bird shooting? has a design on the side and is one shot. Thanks for your help.

I'm ready for a better class of forum

Hello fellow High Roaders! This is my first post. There are no trolls here, right? I built a new work shop, and hope to get into reloading. I look forward to some good discussions without the personal attacks and chest thumping so common on other forums. There is, however, a fine line between a forum admin removing a post, and 1a censorship.

After many observations I finally decided to join. This seems to be, by far, the most useful, and respectful of any forum of its type. I look forward to gaining knowledge, sharing a little that I've learned, and joining having access to an endless database of like minded sportsmen.
