Newbie from Nevada

Hi, all! Just joined, so hello to all. Been browsing anonymously for about a year now (thanks to Google search results), saw a lot of valid and in-depth technical info and like-minds as well, so here I am, a member.

I am a CCW instructor and beginning pistolsmith, and the rest of the time I am a Network Operations Engineer for Windows-based systems, working freelance.

Seriously into handguns (modern semis mostly) and AR-type rifles (still considered barter goods in Nevada, so I trade or sell as needed).

Unfortunately, I don't hunt (at least not the edible-kind of hunting, not anymore), and have been dabbling slightly with archery.

I reload all my own ammo, and teach the NRA Metallic Cartridge reloading class (pistol and rifle).

I support the 2nd Amendment, but not NRA-ILA (they tend to support incumbents, which I do not personally always agree with), and the Washoe County Republican Party.

Got 2 daughters, one of whom I was able to get into shooting (2-time Nevada State Champion for Junior Olympic 3-Position Rifle Shooting).

It's great to finally be a part of THR! I think for now THR has more to offer to me, but I am hoping I can change that eventually.

Good evening fellow gun enthusiasts! I've been "lurking" for a few years and learned a lot from here. I figured it was time to share some of my knowledge, opinions, and experiences when I can. I love all guns. They all have something appealing in one form or another. I started reloading a couple years back and recently started casting as well. I live in northern WI (just got my CC Permit), and have too many guns to list, though, still not enough.

...Looking forward to being a part of The High Road

Hi all, My names Matt. I live in Idaho and love all sorts of guns, and regularly try to find more info about them and the laws that govern them.
Glad to be here!

Hi everyone. I've been lurking in and out for a bit and tonight I saw a thread I wanted to post in so I joined the forum.

My interest in guns vary from assorted caliber of handguns to AR's.

I'm glad to be a part of the forum and thank you for having me.

Hi all. I'm Bill from Mississippi. Like anything that shoots but particularly interested in military surplus. I do some reloading, shotgun and handgun mostly. I have a collection of everything from air guns, to rimfire and centerfire rifles and handguns, and several shotguns. I just love to take the Grandchildren out and burn up some powder. The forum is great with so many diverse interests, glad I found you.

Just joined tonight. I currently own 2 sks rifles and a bolt action single shot Winchester 22 lr. Will soon have the Smith&Wesson SD9. I have owned a Smith&Wesson model 19.

Just getting back into gun ownership and shooting. Been around guns most of my life. My father was a police officer and collected single action Colts. Hope to actually have the time to get into hunting and reloading too.

Hello, Matt checking in. New to the forums. Have a small collection of rifles, pistols and revolvers. I shoot, though not as often as I used to, and reload.

Hi From The UK

Hi, been lurking a while and finally decided to join - I am UK based (yes, there's still a good number of us here that shoot!) and have been shooting for getting on for 20 years. I started with clays and air pistol but about 10 years ago took to rifles and pistols too. After a few years of competitive shooting with a Marlin 1894CS underlever (we use them here for many of the competitions that were originally shot with cartridge pistols) I have settled on muzzle loading pistols (these were spared from the 1997 pistol ban) as my main interest. We have to comply with many restrictions here so my collection is not as comprehensive as I'd like, but I have a .31 Colt 49 pocket, a .36 Colt 51 Navy and a .44 58 Remington NMA at the moment. (all modern Italian copies of course)

I guess that will do for an intro, but one last thing - the US TV series 'Top Shot' has just started showing on the Military History Channel here, so at last I have some shooting-related TV to enjoy! :D

I'm guessing this is series one - is it still running in the US?

Well, my name is Steve, and I am from Arizona. I came across THR while researching reloading equipment for a friend. I haven't been target shooting since I retired from my police department. I shot a friend's .223 the other day while breaking in a new Taurus .45 and was immediately hooked. So now we are going to start reloading and I have to start looking for a .223. This appears to be a great site and I look forward to learning!

New Member from Kansas

Just discovered this site and am happy to contribute in any way I can. Having started shooting as soon as I was old enough to pull the trigger and now age 65, I never fail to learn and seek new info about guns, loading, hunting, and gun people. I have owned dozens of guns, all rifles and shotguns. Got into reloading when I discovered prairie dog shooting and would go thru several hundred rounds in one day. At this point in my life, prairie dogs and coyotes are my favorite targets with squirrels being my most frequent edible target. Recently started buying and shooting pistols. Having been more of a hunter than a target shooter, I didn't gravitate toward pistols. But, wow, pistols are a load of fun to shoot, so I now have 2 semi-autos, a Browning Buckmark and GSG 1911, both .22s. I have been shopping for several more pistols and as with all guns, I'm having a blast. Love gun shows too, especially the Tulsa show. I would enjoy correspondence with some of you. Looking forward to your postings. TOM

Hello from Oklahoma

I have lurked forever but finally joined to ask a few questions about loading 45-70 for my BFR

Hello all. My name is Sean Parker. I am an owner of a company called Velocity Hydrographics Inc. We specialize in water transfer printing, or commonly known as Cammo-dipping. We dip any weapon from pistols (slides and or frames) to complete rifles, shotguns, bows, hunting equipment, automoblie parts, fourwheeler parts, and helmets. We have our FFL, so you can ship weapons to us. Please check out our website at www.velocityhydrographics.com. Thanks, Sean

I'm a retired USAF Special ops pilot. I've been a bird hunter all my life. My children are out of the house now and I always wanted small arms. I purchased a 92FS which I love and am looking for a high capacity reliable .45. Thanks

Hi, new guy to joining, long time lurker and reader! Love this forum and wanted to get in a couple discussions recently so I joined.
I am retired, living near Fayetteville, NC, out in the country! Used to have a Class III firearm manufacturers FFL building mostly AR's, AK's FAL's back when the kits were cheap and available! But now my job is back to being my hobby!
Love Aviation, just gotta figure out how to mount a dealer sample MG42 to an ultralight! LOL then it would be the best of both worlds. Also a protestant minister, who loves the Lord with all my heart. Congregation used to ask me why I carried concealed in the pulpit?... I reminded them that God had David pick up "5 smooth stones".
Thanks for this forum and thanks for groups like this, for socializing, assisting, and sharing information.
Take care
Thomas

I just got a GSG 1911 too and Love it! Especially with a threaded barrel and a Gemtech suppressor, if you can get one in your state I would highly suggest checking it out. The most fun you can have with your pants pulled up! Course when you get our age, that ain't a whole lot anymore! LOL Take care, Thomas

Hey fellas, new here (obviously), live in Portland Oregon, just picked up my first lever action, Marlin .44 mag, and have been looking around for outdoors public land to shoot on and found this site, its awesome

Howdy Yall
You expect stuff like that when we are from Texas ...Right??
My name is Clint. I have many and varied interests when it comes to the shooting sports.
I train and run Springers in AKC events and have an affection for nice double shotguns. I have interests in hunting and long range rifle as well

Greetings from WV! I'm nuts over Godzuilla, hence my title. I own an AK47 and an SKS, albeit I'm willing to trade the latter towards a Glock 17 or XD45. I hope to acquire a Taurus Circuit Judge .410, and either a Rossi .357 or a Mauser/Enfield(the latter two are for hunting).

Born again, Chihuahua owner, straight.
