New member from Georgia. I've been shooting since age 12 when my Dad gave me a Stevens Model 311 12ga SXS. Still have the Stevens and this year it will be 50 years old. I did 5 years in the Army and a tour in Vietnam (70-71)with the 101st Airborne Div as a Combat Medic. I got out of the Army and joined the Air Force and did 33 years. I retired in 2007 as a Chief Master Sergeant.

I love all kind of firearms and most shooting sports. I did Cowboy Action Shooting for 7 years and only stopped when I retired because I don't have any CAS clubs close by. I think I'm going to try my hand at IDPA and use my EDC M&P9 in SSP.

New member from Central Oregon here. I'm 25, have a wife and a four month old daughter and work in a grocery store when I'm not out shooting or being daddy. I am a dedicated gun geek though I've only been shooting for a couple years. I have a thing for pistols, specifically stainless steel revolvers and polymer 9mms, but I have no aversion to hunting and plan to buy a rifle and do as much as I can this year. I like the idea of shooting sports and am looking into getting involved in my area this year.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you folks. This seems like a great forum and I'm glad I finally took the time to join...been lurking for a while. :)

New guy...

Hello there my name is Jim, I am primarily interested in hunting and self defense
I am a proud supporter of lawful gun ownership for any reason. I own several long guns one being a recently add post fr info Eduard Kettner 4bbl another is .32wspl model 94 and another is model 70 Winchester 30-06 as well as several shotguns I use for upland birds and deer hunting state land. I like to shoot pin and plate when I can with my m&p 45 I target practice several times a month with as many as I can afford too lol. Air riffles are so much more affordable.

Thanks for everyone's support here on this grand site. Jim

Hi my name is Doug
I came here because I am a recent owner of a mosin nagant and found this through searches for info on the rifle. Thought that it would be an inexpensive way to get into owning a rifle and maybe some hunting. Ex-military. Hope to learn much here as I am relatively new to gun ownership. Have others but this is my first rifle calibered weopon.

I started working on guns when I was 13 in my fathers friends gun shop cleaning guns, stocking and talking to the customers.I retired from being a stone mason and doing gun work part time to gunsmithing full time and opened my shop 9 years ago.

Hi, I'm new...

I live in Southeastern Oklahoma, I've always been a fan of revolvers. Have a couple of small caliber rifles for plinking. My favorite pistol is a Smith & Wesson model 586 that I've had for almost two decades. I recently recieved a pietta 1860 army which is quickly converting me into a cap & ball fanatic. Tim

Hello to all ! I found this forum from another forum I frequent . I have 4 (now ) forums that I spend some time at . I am a fulltime reader that will occasionaly post only if I feel passionate about what I am saying or have firsthand Knowledge that will compliment a discussion . I enjoy reading all of the post here and commend the forum for taking The High Road . Please don't be troubled if I maintain a low post count , my intentions are honerable and my word is my bond ! Buzz ( had to go by mrbuzz , as buzz was taken )

DRED

I own a couple of Mosin Nagants and they are fun to shoot . The ammo is cheap as long as you order surples from one of the many online distributers and it packs a deadly punch for whatever you may need it for . When you run out of ammo you also have a stout club ! I enjoy owning them and they also let you know you are shooting them ! Buzz

Hey

I'm a new member but have been browsing the site for a while now, and even helped me make my new purchase. I would not consider myself an avid shooter, but do enjoy getting out as much as possible. I like to hunt, fish, and anything firearm related (of course). Here are some pics of all the guns I currently own. If anyone is interested in trading I would really like a m1 carbine or a smith 19. Nice to be part of the forum.

all .22 rifles (marlin, remington, weatherby, some old pump)

ThorinNNY says HI! apolgies for belated intro, I`ve been having trouble posting an intro.I live in the Northernmost part of New York and I`m not very far from the border with Canada.
All I can say is I`m totally opposed to our dis-esteemed Senators Schumer and Gilligirl(Gillibrand) and Representusnot Owens!
If some modern day Paul Bunyon type used a giant chainsaw to cut Noo Yawk Ciddy loose from the USA and towed it to some place like Russia, why us "bitter Americans clinging to our bibles, our guns, and our antipathy to ..." tyrants like Mike Bloomberg - why we`d all just be So broken up... Yup, we`d be bustin` our guts ROFLMAO!

Glad to be here

I am looking into getting more active with shooting...really enjoyed sporting clays. Hopefully there will be some good advice and info to share.

Thanks for having me!

I'm Mike, 15 years old and I love guns. I'm usually slandered by other students for my hobby, but I don't care what they think...I am who I am. I've always visited this site to see different peoples opinion and I always learn something new. Its a great site and I finally decided to join it. I probably don't know as much about guns as everyone else on this site does but I think of myself to be pretty knowledgeable for my age. We have an Springfield armory XDm 9mm with the 4.5 inch barrel. unfortunately that's all I Have for now, if I had the cash I would build an armory haha. I've shot a few long guns and I am a big fan of the AR, I love Remington shotguns too! I hope to learn more about building a customized AR and the different companies that are out there for doing so. :D

Newby here looks like alot of good info. Im from Mo. I love to hunt, fish, shoot, and ride... Love all sorts of guns.....

Hello, I'm Shane from Florida. Google kept pointing me here, so here I am. I love guns and going to the range, though my wallet keeps me from going recently. I plan to get my permit in the near future and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge here to learn from. My collection is small (a couple .22lr rifles and Spanish Star 9mm) but sure to grow. See you in the forums!

Not exactly a new member, just lurker

I have been a member for nearly a year and have bought and sold and traded and couldn't understand why my post count stayed at zero. A kind staff member explained this so I decided I had better get busy posting if I dont want to be a newb forever. I am 62 involuntarily retired from mechanicing in 1984 due to a head on collision with a DWI illegal alien. I cannot complain though, the Lord has been good to me. I love to buy, sell, and trade. Bill a.k.a. Fomdiddle or
Fom for short.

Hello everyone. I am new member but long time lurker. I am a long time shooter and gun hobbyist. I currently own several firearms, all semi auto's. I have Glocks, Sig's, HK's, CZ's and Colts in my collection along with a few others.

I appreciate the more civil tone of the forum and that in large part is why I'm here. I look forward to sharing and learning here on THR.

Hi Guys!

I'm TexanHawk. I grew up shooting. Two of the best Christmas presents I ever received were a .410 single shot at 14 y/o and 870 20 ga. when 16. I still shoot both of those guns along with all of the acquisitions along the way.

I spent almost thirty years in the US Army and when I retired, I missed going to the range. Now my son, daughter, and Veteran wife all accompany me to the range to shoot the pistols.

Howdy to all,

Looks like a pretty good site for all shooting info. I'm live in central Oregon and am an avid duck hunter and sure do love to chase the sage rats around as I really enjoy shooting. Have several shotguns and enjoy my customized Ruger 10/22 for rat smackin. If there are any Central Oregon landowners that need help thinning out the varmints please let me know and yes I know the difference between irrigation pipe, livestock and bad targets.

Look forward to great info.

Did you ever hear of such a gun?

I know nothing about guns, but I have a question that I have wondered about for years. Here is the story:
Forty or 50 years ago I was reading an article in a magazine (don’t know what magazine). The article was a review of a new type of gun. It was a pellet gun, but different from any other. The pellets were like tiny rockets, and they continued to accelerate after they left the barrel. And there was no recoil.
After the reviewer picked up the gun he was to evaluate, he took it back to his hotel. He couldn’t wait to get home to his firing range, so he put the telephone book on the radiator, leaning against the wall. He fired several shots into the telephone book.
When he took down the telephone book, he found that the pellets had gone through the telephone book into the wall.
That’s all I remember about the article.
My questions are:
1. Is there such a gun?
2. Has there ever been such a gun?
3. If so, what was it called, and what happened to it?
4. Any other details about it would be appreciated.

Thank you for your patience with my amateurish interest.

new to THR, i got the website off the new book...Glock the rise of America's gun, thanks for having me, i've been around gun discussion forums for awhile.
