New Here, Veteran-Self Employed tryin' to get the word out!
Hello to everyone here at the high road! Seems like a great place to learn and throw around opinions with other gun guys! My name is Lee, I recently ets'd from the army and am in my second year of "higher-edjamucation"...I've also recently started my own company making custom holsters and other gun-leather, "Double-Tap Leather by Lee Mason."
My website is
www.dt-leather.com, please check it out if you're in the market for something unique, made in the USA, 100% by hand, one-at-a-time.
The website covers everything else about my company, so I won't blab about it here, but I s'pose I should introduce myself a bit better:
24 years old (a young pup to most of ya I'll bet), living in Garland, TX. Joined the Army in 2006 straight out of high school, assigned to 3rd Brigade 1st Infantry Division at Ft. Hood, TX. Deployed to OEF 8-9, Kandahar province near Maiwand...at one point I believe my company held the record for most IED strikes in a week...not a record you want...got back in '09, transferred to 2nd Brigade 1st Cav. I was right across the street when Hasan started his killing spree, heard all the gunshots..god be with the families of those that were taken that day..it is sickening how long his trial is taking. Got out in Oct. '10, missed the deadline to enroll in fall classes, worked in an Amazon.com warehouse for 7 months until it shut-down due to a sales-tax lawsuit between Amazon & The State of Texas, worked for a moving company for a while, finally started school at UT Dallas fall 2011...it's comical being the "old-guy" in class..in there with a bunch of kids that seem to know absolutely nothing about the real world (no offense), most seem to think it's all lollipops and rainbows...
I know this is rambling, but that's the point of an intro right?
Hunting report: Currently hunting the Lake Tawakoni area east of Dallas armed with a Great Plains longbow...that's right, longbow, it's actually harder than it looks...seeing deer every trip, just can't get close enough. Seems like they only move very early and very late, maybe this cold weather coming in will push them around more..
Anyways, stay safe, carry a spare mag, and I look forward to taking THR!
