New to THR

Hello.
Retired carpenter from NE Iowa here. Love shootin' my handguns and old military long guns. Happily married with 2 dogs ( Chessie and JR, what a hoot:eek: ). Have recently become quite a Rock Hound. Hope I can contribute. Molon Labe!

Hi everyone
From South Africa, not new to guns but definately not an expert. I prefer to read more and post less which helps me learn more and at the same time keep the taste of my foot out my mouth:)

Glad to be a part of this site. I was a serious lurker for the past few months. Lots of great info and info sharing here. I live in Central Virginia and have been around guns all my life. I like almost all types of guns and have many old S&W revolvers that still get most of my time. I also of course have the more modern Glocks, Sig's, etc. and just started to get more into the MSR's. I plan to restart my reloading that I gave up and may need the guidance of the experienced reloaders here.

Hey guys. I'm new here but not new to guns or gun forums. I'm an infantry Marine with a lifetime of civilian gun experience and a few years experience working at an LGS/range/training facility. I look forward to getting to know the active members of this site!

New Member Hello. I'm a paper puncher only and the lastest project has been a 1911 SA "Loaded" Target model I purchased. It sounded like a great deal when I viewed the 3" x 5" card at the gun club, and the gun looked great in person. ... Never judge a book by it's cover, or a used pistol either. I invested a grand on the purchase and have been throwing money at it for the last year. If anything I've learned in life is that an education costs ~ always. Still regardless of the money, I've learned a heap about 1911's and on that it's been worth it. Still, like reloading and what you invest in that angle, costs a lot too, but when ammo is very expensive and nobody can find anything that doesn't cost a buck a round, it good to have the equipment and the stuff to make the loads you can call your own, and shoot well.
This site is a great source of info and from time to time I'll be looking for help I'm sure. :)

HandyRandy here, I'm a new member and got a question about the new DPMS GII HUNTER 308. I have a 30mm 5x20x50 scope to mount on it, medium scope rings work fine on it, but with my eye relieve I can't mount my scope where I need to because it covers up my charging handle. I do not want to purchase new high scope rings. Is there an alternative for a extender on the charging handle or a different handle that will work?

New to this forum, have been a reloader, hunter, and competitive shooter since the 1960's. Trying to keep up with the changes to our sport and this seems to be the best way.:D

New here.

I own several nines and a 380. I've been researching a lot I to reloading and thinking about taking the plunge but my fiancé isn't happy about me spending money into reloading supplies and equipment.

Hello

This seems like a great place to get answers to just about any fire arm related question I have as well as maybe passing on some of my own knowledge! I am into all gunstuff, lever-actions to high speed ARs. I love to learn, especially about fire arms so it seems I came to the right place just by scrolling through some of the forums.

Hello! Found this forum perusing the interwebs in an attempt to find shops/ranges outside of the 20ish mile radius where I conduct my daily goings-on (Missouri). The surprising lack of brazen, fork-tongued discourse 'round here is why...I'm here! As the handle may imply, my general "credo" is to ask, learn and (hopefully) reciprocate the gesture. I was born in 1975.

greetings all!

I have been reading this forum for awhile now looking for advice on many different things from reloading to gun reviews. I have started reloading again and come here looking for answers and hints and decided to join so I could contribute my experiences since you guys have been a real help to me.

New from California

Hello, I'm Bob from Apple Valley, CA. I'm a retired software engineer. In my early days I was a High Power competitor and have been a deer hunter for the last 46 years. I also reload but in limited quantities, as suitable for hunting. I have an interest in wildcats although I can't afford 5% of what I would like to fool around with.

I have been very active in one other gun forum for a number of years and peek in on 3 or 4 others as I look for information. I found some interesting wildcat info here that I hope to pursue.

Howdy all, New here but been shootin for more than a few years. Mostly into muzzle loaders (cap locks) now but still have centerfires in the locker. Jim

Hello From East Texas

Been on the forum for a while but I've been mostly in the background trying to learn something. The newest long gun in my locker is a Remington 1100 I bought in 1972. I have two handguns that my mother carried in the 1960s and a new Springfield 9MM Xdm 5.25. I was a rabid skeet shooter in the 70s and reloaded 4 gauges. I'm now reloading 38 special, 38 s&w, 9MM, 300 Savage and 30-30 win. I have all the material and equipment to start casting bullets and hope to start that tomorrow. I appreciate the good will shown to new members by some of the old hands and I even can find humor with some of the grumps. Glad I found the link.

Hi there, found this site while researching a couple of rifles I won at a NWTF banquet a while back. The discussion got pretty lively and I was intrigued. I hunt , fish, camp etc., and call N. California home.

New member saying hi

I am a gun enthusiast with far more opinions than guns. I hang around THR a lot but never bothered getting registered. Now I am registered and will probably post things periodically
