My name is Ronnie, I just moved to Arizona a year ago in spite of breaking up with a GF who lived here. Found out I was able to open carry, then if that wasn't good new enough, conceal carry w/o a permit. Being a vet of both the Navy and Army and a tour in 03 in the giant litter box aka Iraq, I'm a big fan of the Constitution/Bill of Rights and 'ole #2, I was ecstatic, until said ex slapped me with a frivolous Order of Protection! I've been here a over a year and still haven't cross paths, but as soon as the Order was squashed, I picked up my first civilian weapon in over 18 years, (owned an Astra A-100 at 18), SIG P229 and it was love at first squeeze. Since I have a severe lack of friends out here and after all the research in picking a gun, I got hooked, bought 2 books (The Worlds Greates Gun Book Gun Digest 2014 and Gun Digest's Book of Modern Gun Values) and am in the market for my second. Any suggestions?

My name is David, I live in Worcester Massachusetts, will be applying for my LTC this year, and am hopefully going to be buying my first gun sometime soon after.

Hello to all

Hi my name is Rick just found this site today by accident, looks like a great site.
Anyway, turned 62 a couple of weeks ago. So am now focusing on retirement.
But for now the wife and I enjoy motorcycles and bicycles. When it comes to firearms, lets just say she tolerates my hobby. She is no way involved. I chose to give away all of my long guns a few years ago, well almost I kept one 22lr .

NewBeeeee

Hi to all,
Just became the newest member. I am U.S. Army retired so not new to shooting military style!

Somewhat new to CCW. I carry a S&W Body Guard 380 which I have fired about 300 rounds without a single burp. It sure is an up and personal piece (maybe my old eyes) because a shot group in a 1 foot circle at a 15 yard range is the best I can do with it. Could be the stiff trigger pull, but I like that for inside the belt carry especially with one in the chamber. :what:

I also keep a Colt 1991A1 .45ACP at my bed side or in the car when on a trip. Now that is not up close and personal! :)

Not exactly new here but not sure I ever introduced myself.

Live and work in central IL. My chosen profession is computer programming and I work for the local heavy-machinery manufacturer. Married, with a son on the way and a 4-legged kid.

Been shooting occasionally since I was about 7, but really got the bug about 15. Im not partial to 1 kind of gun, I like shooting rifles, pistols shotguns, air rifles, even my bow from time to time. Also do a bit of hunting and camping.

New to the forum, but not new to guns and shooting. Grew up mostly bird hunting...duck, dove and crow. If you've never crow hunted, you're missing some real fun by the way. Although I used shotguns and rifles growing up I am fairly new to handgun shooting. I purchased my first two handguns last year, a Ruger SR9 and a Sig Sauer P239, and shoot weekly at the range. I selected 9mm models due to greater availability and cheaper prices for ammo compared to .40 or .45, since I knew I would be shooting frequently. I really enjoy target shooting and might consider competing if I can ever get my groupings tight enough. My philosophy on gun control...I'm all for it...I'll turn my guns over when the government has proven to me all the criminals have turned their's over, and when there is evidence that criminals can no longer obtain them illegally.

Hello everyone! New member here from Nashville, TN. I am a hunter and enjoy shooting. I started reloading about five years ago when my boys started hunting. We learned together. It has added a new dimension to our hunting and shooting, and given us many hours of priceless time together.

One thing I have learned about guns and reloading is that there is always something new to learn. I ran across this forum and read some of the threads. I like that everyone seems willing to share their experiences, respect one another, and have a good time doing it. I have gotten a few good laughs as well.

I am not an expert like some of the folks on here, but I know a few things and am willing to help were I can. I appreciate the opportunity to participate.

Thanks

I am a new guy from Illinois. I just wanted to check in. I am a big fan of .45 ACP handguns and 9mm handguns. As of right now my tastes are towards the 1911 and the HK45. I am from the Midwest. I plan to move out West by the end of the year to Colorado or Texas. Just not sure where as I intend to go to graduate school.

Hello from north Idaho

New here, but hardly new. I love to hunt, fish and do most anything out doors. I'm retired and have lots of time to do my stuff. I just found this forum and looked it over a bit. I think I will like it here.

Been reading the forums here for a while now and finally decided I should join and contribute where I can. THR has been a lot of help since my family growing up was decidedly anti-gun and I didn't get the luxury of learning to shoot from an early age.

I'm from Miami, FL and now live a little further north in Georgia. I've been shooting for about 2 years and I've had my CCW for a little over a year. In the last 2 years I've been collecting firearms and introducing my friends to shooting sports (now my entire family and several close friends shoot) and it has been exciting to say the least.

See ya around.

I am retired Army Special Forces, but started out in the Navy.
I have collected WW 2 German weapons and most other things since I got my first K98k to hunt deer with in 1953.
Have long since expanded into about anything WW 2 except jap and have also added Viet Nam after I came back in 1970 (brought a few things home with me).
I like P.38s and most varieties of MGs, but also K98ks and Garands.
Fortunately I live in an MG friendly state so I have no problem with having my collection.

Hello everyone!! I found this site through the spyderco website a while back and have been lurking. I'm an avid shooter with a few firearms. I still have much to learn and look forward to it. I reside in michigan and I'm 28.

Hello

I've enjoyed this forum for a few years, and thank you all for all I've learned. I was an NRA member on principle for a long time, before I even owned and regularly shot much. Now I have my 03 FFL, and those who do know what that means (it's like peanuts, can't have just one). My interests vary, from milsurps (rifles and handguns) to classics to modern. I shoot handguns more often than long rifles, have everything on hand but haven't yet started reloading, and do a lot of my own tinkering. Again, thanks for the collective wisdom.

New member: found this forum because the people on it were actually willing to talk about modifying firearms, specifically the Mosin-Nagant 91/30. Other Mosin forums I found had strict rules about the forum being for collecting and anything else was "Bubba-modding" the rifle. Weirdos. ;)

I bought my Mosin (and my other firearms) because it was cheap enough I would not be afraid to do some hobby gunsmithing on it. I'm an engineer; I'm capable of leaving well enough alone, but my definition of "well enough" is a bit different than most. I won't put up with something I think I can fix or improve.

New-B from New-Z

Hi everybody. I live in Boston, on the tail end of a long series of hoops to own guns here. I'm interested in semiauto handguns and military surplus/designed rifles.

Hello From Canada

Came across a link to this site while trying to find some parts for my Grandfathers Savage Arms Model 3A. Specifically Trigger guard, trigger guard screws and takedown screw.
