Hello All

Been reloading on a single stage press for over 25 years, multiple rifle and pistol calibers. Just joined to learn more from members here. Been working with 45Colt lately, and recently started casting my own bullets.

Hi from Australia.

65, semi retired getting back into shooting after a 20 year break. Now have two Annies and two CZ's, all 22LR and am very happy with them all. My teenage daughter expressed an interest in shooting so we are doing it together.

Things have certainly changed a lot since purchasing my first BRNO Mod 1 when I was 18 at Uni.

Cheers to all my shooting mates!

Hello all

Hi, 58, from Miami Fla, a southern bastion of Liberalism. Exiled from Cuba at an early age, my dads choice was to stay and get shot or leave.

Was steered here by a fellow conservative I met in a comment section of the local newspaper as we were bashing a blatantly communistic anti-gun editorial which is so typical down here. Specialties are telecommunications systems and networking, computers are toys. Majored in industrial engineering, but since we farm all out work offshore, specialized in data/telecoms.

Hope to meet up with fellow conservatives and patriots and see if we can get this country back on the right road.

Mike V.

Hello, I'm retired from DOC from KY. I've been exposed to guns my entire life, had to qualify and certify with them for my 20 yrs working for DOC, and have the typical what I call "redneck" arsenal of hunting guns, etc. (rifles and shotguns). I recently decided to expand my collection to enclude different calibers of handguns, which is what brought
me here. I need any and all advice I can get, lol.

Newbie intro

Hello;
I am an ex-sport+bullseye+pin shooter returning to handgun shooting after ten years away from the sport. It's CHANGED! Revolvers remain revolvers, but the advances in semiautos, especially in polymer frames, is amazing. Even the shooting competitions are almost all defense/action oriented. The only shooting I've been doing has been in hunting elk, both muzzle loader and rifle. My muzzle loader is a Thompson Center Impact .50 cal. My rifle is a 35-year old Sako Finnbear, originally in 30-06, but now rechambered as 30-06 Ackley Improved. That is one very impressive modification!

I'm impressed by the quality of responses to posted questions. They seem very well informed, and the questions are usually pretty good ones. The only stupid questions are those that go unasked!

I'll post some of my own about handgun selection later on in the General Handgun discussions.

Hi! My name is Amanda. I'm interested in buying a gun for the first time. I do support gun rights, but know very little about guns. I'm trying to get an overall feel for what I want and do not want, to get an understanding of the mechanics, jargon, and use of firearms. This forum was suggested to me by a friend. Thanks to everyone in advance for the advice and knowledge.

Welcome Amanda. Your friend gave you sound advise IMO. Peruse the individual forums on this board, particularly the ones regarding rifles, shotguns, handguns, revolvers and general gun discussion. At the top of each you will find stickies which can answer many of your basic questions. But don't be afraid to ask any question you have. The people here have a wealth of knowledge and experience which they love to share.

And more opinions than... well, you'll see :)

Guten Tag

Hi from CA

Hi,

I'm from a little town called Wheatland, CA and I've shot most of my life .22 rifles but just got into owning my own firearms last year. Which is also the year I got married, wifey pregnant, and somehow was lucky enough to get her approval for a 9mm and my own mutt built AR15. I hope to learn a lot on this forum with a bunch of great people and offer any help I can.

Thanks,
Joe

Hello, I collect long rifles, love to shoot at the range, always go on one good hunt with my boys every year.
I live in Pa.and work in construction management.

Hi, new member. I've been involved with shooting sports for 35 years, mostly shotguns and handguns. I have a weakness for old top-break revolvers, but in real life I carry and practice with a Colt Commander and an M&P Shield 9mm. That may change, tho - I just got a vintage Star PD and put in a new buffer and springs and will be wringing it out soon!

What's up all!

I have been trolling this site for over a year...started when I was looking for reload bench idea's. Along the way I found lots of other great discussions, etc. Joined last week and shared some pics of my bench. I really appreciate the time that lots of you have put into this site...it has been very helpful. I hope I can represent and help pay that forward at some point!

Ha-ha, someone neglected to inform me that reloading would quickly become a hobby in and of itslef! Not sure if I reload to support my shooting habits or if I shoot to support my reloading habits! I find it relaxing to spend time in my garage, tinkering, errrr, reloading! It's amazing how quickly the minutes become hours. Although, I am driven indoors for about 3 months a year due to the AZ heat. But, lately I have been browsing the 'mobile bench ' idea's for reloading indoors during the heated months.

I started dabbling at reloading a few years ago and just recently drank the RED kool-aid and moved from the Lee Turret Press to a new Hornady LN AP to speed up pistol loads. I kept the Lee press because I can find use for it for rifle loads/single stage, etc. My interest in reloading was originally sparked to support shooting my M44 habit, but quickly grew from there! My wife and I both enjoy plinking/skeet and trap. My wife actually enjoys loading her own 9mm rounds...how cool is that?! It doesn't get much better than that!!!

I am a 10 year US Navy vet (1985-1995).
Reload for 9mm, 45ACP, .30-06, 7.62x54r, 7.62x39 (just becuz it's fun) , 12-gauge and 20-gauge.

Hello from North Dakota

Hello from North Dakota!
I shoot (and reload) 9mm and just started shooting .45 auto.
I hope to start reloading .45 as soon as I can find some powder! hahaha

I was a lurking guest a while back, especially when I was doing my research for my carry and rifle purchases. Those are all done, and I ran across you guys again doing some accessory research. Thought I'd sign up this time.

I'm not much of a poster, but I'll still be lurking. See you around!

Greetings from Mississippi

I'm a hunting/firearm enthusiast from central Mississippi. I look forward to learning and sharing some of my (limited) experiences.

Current arsenal:

STI Spartan V 1911 .45acp
GLOCK G19 Gen4 9mm
S&W M&P .40sw full size
Franchi Intensity 12 ga. Mossy Oak bottomland camo
Remington 11/87 12 ga. Mossy Oak breakup camo
Remington 1100 12 ga.
Remington 870 20 ga.
CZ 550 American .308win
Remington Model 7 7mm-08

Past pieces:

Springfield XD-9mm
GLOCK G27 Gen3 .40sw
Beretta PX4 Storm Type F .40sw
Smith & Wesson 642 Airweight .38 sp

I've recently (within the past few years) gotten into shooting handguns for a hobby. I owned the Springfield for 6-8 years and shot it occasionally before I began to shoot more often and "expand" my "collection".

I enjoy Miss. State sports, fishing, kayaking and duck/turkey/deer/dove hunting. Thanks for having me!

I have been going alone on a few newbie gun projects lately and this board kept popping up in my search. I have to say, there is a huge wealth of knowledge here and I thank everyone for sharing. Hopefully i can as well. Current projects consist of a Belgian Browning SA22 (heirloom piece), and next up is a Winchester NRA 94 musket that needs some metal work (barrel is getting sent out for a hot blue). I'm already forming my short list on future projects, thanks again everyone!
